I don't know, but after the mess the Grinch leak was, I think peoples are setting their expectation really low so that they don't get their hope & dreams crushed again, and be more happy once we know what the DLC characters will be, atleast that's how I see it.

Me, I think I be pretty happy with whatever we get, as long it isn't Goku, so I'm just waiting to see what the Smash Team as hidden behind their sleeves.

Yeah they lost me, that was the worst reveal for me, I hate that inclusion. I really don't know what kind of comparison it's that, but I'm going to lower my expectations even more (not that I thought my favourite characters had much of a chance, but whatever).

I've been wondering though when the first character will be revealed. Since PP is coming in January/February, I think April would be the best bet for the first character getting announced, we'll see.

At least as far as first party characters go, they've pretty much got their bases covered. Yeah we're missing some good new faces like Rex and Spring Man but that's just how the development cycle went and they're hardly must have.

Everyone seems to be upset by this news... But to be honest, I'm not... In fact, it makes me pretty happy.

When it comes to Smash, surprise characters are usually very hype for me... I remember getting super excited when Duck Hunt was confirmed to be in Smash 4. Same goes for Wii Fit Trainer... Besides, they usually come with fun and unique playstyles and movesets you never knew you wanted...

Bring on the surprises, baby! I'll take any Style Savvy or Minecraft Steve that I can get!

Assist Trophies did kill a ton of big names for starters and I definitely don't see anyone from Microsoft happening like everyone is hoping.

I do feel it'll be better than what the previous game did and I can see at least one goody.

That's the thing though. No matter who they add, they'll be missing some "big faces" because no one can even agree who the most important characters are. As if "importance" is even the sole determining factor in what makes a good character.

This is why I don't stress too much about who gets in and tend to just go with the flow in general.

While I still like our potted lord :ultpiranha:, I don't know if I use him as a good exemple of getting peoples hype for future DLC, especially we haven't see anything new about him since the direct, and while his moveset is pretty creatif and filled with references, it still need to be fun and/or good enough for competitive play if they want to make peoples really excited, which is easier said than done.

I hope, but don’t expect a Cloud level hype character reveal but either way I’m still gonna get the full pass.

Whoever they put, it won't matter for me as I will buy every character anyway. Smash is one series I refuse not to have a completed roster on.

Same, heck, I bought all of Smash 4 DLC characters on both Wii U & 3DS, just to make sure I could play all characters on both consoles.:p

And you never know what character might just click with you. I never played FF7 before Smash 4 came out but Cloud was the funnest character for me. He just felt right

I played it on the ps4(never finished it), but now I’m waiting for it to release on the Switch, alonside FF9
