It depends on what you want to use the 3DS for, but for me, it's as noticeable as it can get.

Quoting for the lazy:

The 3DS update was released yesterday after its maintenance period.

Here are the new features:
  • Added support for Nintendo Network IDs
  • Added support for Miiverse
  • Added software update notifications
  • Removal of limits to System Transfers
  • The start-up method of Nintendo 3DS Camera from the HOME Menu has been changed. (L + R Simultaneous)
  • Improved system stability and usability
If you want to know more info about the update, click here.
POV:

The Miiverse button is at the top right corner of the bottom screen, next to the internet browser.
The Camera button(s) on the top screen is now changed to L + R and is located on the bottom right.
The Nintendo Network ID settings is located on System Settings, at the top of the bottom screen.
I'm now fully linked. You can now take screenshots of your game and share with the community.

Miiverse on 3DS is sluggish and incomplete. I hope they update and further improve the 3DS service. A full year in development and it feels unfinished. At the same time, I'm thrilled to be using my NNID on 3DS. One thing I really want is cross buy. I have SMB2 on Wii U, but I also want access to it on 3DS and vice versa.

Almost there, Nintendo.

More like they're at their limits instead. For full satisfaction, it's gonna take a good while.

Now guys, be aware that nintendo may remove any posts regarding to sharing Friend Codes as they do not want to have any bad things to happen, similar to what occured in swapnote. Also, Flipnote Studio 3D's Friends Gallery has been removed weeks ago because of what happened, which means World Gallery is the only thing accessible. This may also be why Flipnote Studio 3D's taking too long to arrive in america, as it may have to be redeveloped for better safety.

I'm betting that world gallery will be free when it's released in america. One more thing; Please, I beg you not to make any "Yeah me if you like this and that" posts. Not just for my concern, but others who feel the exact same way. :c

Yes. The whole "Yeah" warfare that went on last year was too much. Thankfully Nintendo Ninjas executed those posts.

I just bought a new 3DS and gave the old one to my sister. I'm definitely loving the color black.

She seems to be mostly interested in final fantasy, so if there are any games you'd prefer, I want to know.

Shooting games are given a mature rating. (Right?...) thats more so the parents letting their kids play a game that the rating is advising against.

I think the main problem with Bravely Default is the art style of the characters makes them look like children (not uncommon in Japan) and the rest of the world isn't too keen is children looking characters making sexual innendos and wearing skimpy outfits.

Has anyone tried the classic Sega remakes they made recently? 3D Ecco the Dolphin, 3D Space Harrier, and a few others. I got Ecco and it is so amazing, and has invincibility available at the start so people can get through the game without the hardships of the original. Can also save at any point in the game. It's definitely beautiful in 3D :)

Downloaded the Bravely Default demo, but haven't played it yet since I keep playing Fire Emblem Awakening.

bravely default is pretty good

the writing isnt exactly blockbuster and the dungeons are so simple it's kinda sad, but it's definitely a good final fantasy-type game

hard mode requires a little bit of grinding or a large amount of luck/previous knowledge, your choice

Battling seems pretty balanced for now. I like how mage's autos aren't worthless.

Status effect traps/floors are the bane of my existance... Especially since status doesn't go away until healed... Ugghhh... No idea whats going on as of story.. So just doing stuff.. Game seems pretty standard for an RPG.

On a side note i had a battle where that one scorpion mob keeps summoning others scorpions keep going on forever.... to the point i had to brave 4 turns everyone and spam blizzard for water damage super effectiveness.

Spoilers on first boss:

First boss uses a spell that 1 shots a team member (or nearly does) and can cast a party wide charm.. Or she can just do a weak auto attack. What a RNG first boss lol. I ended up losing the first time to my white mage healing her when he got charmed.. Since he was my fastest unit.. He healed her twice .-.;

i really like how some bosses make you think 'jesus christ what the **** was that, how do i beat it' and after two more attempts you realise exactly what you're missing

and the answer is almost never 'more levels'

note: hard mode, which is actually somewhat challenging past the first chapter (unlike most games where it's hard for 10 minutes and then you breeze along)

Game is too easy on normal. Gonna see how it is on hard mode.

So far my favorite job is the valkyrie. Love piercing default.

Well i said it was easy but then i entered the south dungeon lol.

Wish i could delete my file to start over and play on hard though... Or use another file. (Changing to hard will not really work cause i went hyper offense which won't work in hard mode cause mobs will 2 shot all my guys)

Anyone playing the Bravely Default Demo know what Norende Village Restoration is about?

I thought I read when you upgrade the shops if gives you the items in the real item shops, but none of the shops have the items I upgraded.

You buy the items from adventurers.. The guys you talk to in order to save the game in town or dungeons

I'm sad i can't start the demo over to play it on hard... Tbh the game feels like a grindfest (for levels or armor/money) to be strong enough to survive a boss's 4 brave turn. (Minotaur pls....)

Before I even fought the first boss, I grinded to max level and ALL classes maxed.

It was actually easy since there is an item that increases encounter rate, mixed with the fact you can increase encounter rate in options, and also speed up battles. To make it even faster I got ride of that menu that appears after you have selected all the commands for the characters to verify your commands - that thing was annoying

Though it would have been easier if I had better equipment since I didn't know where to buy Norende village items.

I was beating the bosses with the crap you get in the equipment shop

I really like how I have the option to encounter enemies more or less. I put it on very hard and maximized the the encounter rate to speed up the game. Also, it's not just the levels, but the equipment you get when making and leveling up buildings by streetpassing other fellow players.

I'm glad I have plenty more demo uses, but since I'm no fan of rpg, games, it's making me more bored. The game is great and I urge you guys to buy the limited edition, because the soundtrack is great.

Edit--

I'd like to know if anyone tried that new chibi-robo! game.

I got Steel Diver: Sub Wars, and it looks nice. Being able to chat in the game is nice as well.

Oh wait, I have to go through the hassle of enabling parental controls and disable child online privacy to chat with others.
Now I'm waiting for an email confirmation number. Sigh.

I loved playing Hang-On at my local arcade back in the day. I actually at first had a Master System, but everyone else had Nintendos, so I sold it and bought a Nintendo. I could play all the games I liked at the arcade, and I got a Genesis in college. I'm probably not going to get it, though, brings back haunting memories of my recent mid-life crisis.

Persona Q: Shadow of the Labyrinth was just recently confirmed for a 2014 release in the west! As someone who isn't too familiar with the Persona series (I've played very little), I will say that I'll be looking forward to purchasing this for my 3DS.

Edit: I'm going to (finally) be picking up Bravely Default within the week as well. Probably will be my last purchase for a little while.

PersonaQ plays closer to Etrian Odyssey (Sekaiju no MeiQ) than Persona.

That looks great.

I'll be honest, I kind of like the gameplay of the Zero/ZX games the most out of the Mega Man series, so I'm really looking forward to this.

Azure Striker Gunvolt fans, I found some real gameplay.

Turns out lighting also triggers traps. Alot of traps.

And there's this. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5f7vDmVB8FM
But this one is pretty dull, so I'd guess it's the first level or something. I know these are the only two levels that were in the demo.

I'm working on finding videos with better players and a translation of the text in the trailer for those interested.

Looks really great. But I feel like the demo didn't deliver as much as I was expecting. Still excited to see more from it though.

Speaking of which, if you get a decent amount of people, we could also put it in the LH Tournament subforum.
