i wouldnt say he's getting a raw deal. he probably should never have played in the first place. brady quinn was the true #2, but the fans wanted tebow in and ownership caved to sell tickets.

I'd take Eli Manning over Peyton in his prime when it comes to post season play. When it matters most, I know Eli will pull through for me in the clutch. And you are also comparing him just to Brady. What about previous QBs like Montana, Favre, Elway, Young, McNabb, etc?

But if we're talking about just post season play with the QBs I have now, I'd go with...

1. Eli
2. Brees
3. Brady
4. Big Ben
5. Rodgers
6. Peyton

Tebow should want to stay, but chances are he will get traded. I'm just now worried about what the 49ers are gonna do if Miami gets Alex Smith. Never in my life would I think I'd be concerned about resigning Alex Smith.
6.

i would easily have bet money we would have won the division without manning going to denver. we would have been at least 4-2 in the division, now i see 3-3 and finishing second to denver.

also on the homepage of espn they have a vote for if madden is a good fit for denver. i hit no for kicks, and the only two states that there are more no's then yes's- tennessee and kanses lolol

you would take brees in the postseason when he can't win outdoors?
Correction, the SAINTS can't win outdoors. That issue has been going on long before he got there. For the record, as much as I'm a 49er fan, he had that game won. His defense failed him similar to another QB we were talking about earlier.

i'm not saying peyton's performance is the best or anywhere close. im bringing to light the fact that, despite comparable individual performances, Brady is seen as one of the best ever while Peyton is seen as underwhelming solely because of the win column. the problem i have with this is most would agree that football is heavily reliant on team performance, yet for some reason the W's seem to matter more to an individual's reputation than anything else. it irks me more than a little (i feel like we agree im not sure why im in argument mode). its like people would much rather have trent dilfer than dan marino.

you illustrate my point here:
What about previous QBs like Montana, Favre, Elway, Young, McNabb
elway, until he won a super bowl at 37 years old (iirc) was considered a poor postseason quarterback who shrunk under pressure. 2 wins later, he's in a conversation for best postseason qb despite actually having a pretty mediocre playoff career.

tldr peyton's not average, nor is brady the best ever (postseason). they should have similar postseason reputations, regardless of where they are on the list.

montana was every bit as good as his reputation.

and i agree right now i would rather have eli in the postseason than anyone else. he handles pocket pressure better than any quarterback in the league (his rating under pressure doesnt decrease. so crazy), and that composure clearly carries over in other situations.

i'm betting all of denver is praying for it, just so the miracle of tebow stays intact in their minds

To be fair, when it comes to Elway, even though he didn't win the super bowl until the end of his career, he made it to a LOT of them.

thats true i think he made it to 5. probably a record. lol still though, if you were to tell me a guy whose career playoff numbers were like 55% completion, 79 qbrating, 27 td 21 int, and whose superbowl numbers were FAR worse than even that line is considered one of the greatest postseason qb's i'd call you crazy

omg is this guy the most "bro" guy you've ever seen or what: http://deadspin.com/5894499/did-a-1...with-rob-gronkowski-one-steamy-night-in-aruba

He was clutch too. People seem to forget "The Drive" he had before he ran into Joe Montana in the Super Bowl. I mean, what can ya do when Montana and crew put up 55 points against you? This is like the excuse some NBA fans give to the stars that never won a ring, cause MJ was in the way.

I figure if Alex Smith doesn't stay with the 49ers (for whatever reason), they could make a easy trade for Colt McCoy. I feel like Harbaugh could do the same for him he did for Smith. -Texas Bias-

Now that it's all but said and done, I think i'm taking a two week break from football to figure out where my loyalties lie.

Source from San Fran says Peyton didn't want to deal with the pressure of Super Bowl or bust. Would rather grow with young Denver team (except for their corners and safeties), and win like that. I figure it had more to do with not playing Eli or a tough conference (Saints, Packers, Giants.) With that being said, if it's true, I sort of lost respect for Peyton.

"Source" from San Fran is probably SALTY

That being said I also believe they're right anyway, but I always had Peyton pegged as someone that doesn't want those kinds of expectations. If he takes a mediocre team and does something then he gets all the credit, and if he can't get it done then it minimizes his share of the blame.

Well, I would not be saying this source if it wern't for Peter King from SI tweeting it. If he's tweeting it, then he probably has good reason to believe it.

Sounds like salt to me. It was probably a personality/leadership thing what with Harbaugh being Harbaugh and all.

Yeah, this is the message the NFL needs to send to ensure bounties are done with once and for all. The Saints may have not been the first, supported by coaches or not, but this is just highly unethical when you are waging money on a person's health.

Rex will replace Sanchez in 3rd game of the season with Tebow.

They will proceed to win until the season ends.

Those who do not see this coming are blind. I think this is awesome. If we see anything like we did last season :troll:

Sean Payton should be banned. I don't like that guy. Props to the NFL for putting him in his place.
