There are a lot of people who will claim that X game or character is the greatest of all time but actually never played the game. A certain fanbase was very guilty of that before a certain remake dropped but I'm not going to say who. If you've been speculating for long enough, you probably know who I'm talking about.

People being sheep like that, believing the opinion of other people without making up their own mind by actually trying it, is a big pet peeve of mine. Not just for video games but for anything in general. If you haven't tried it, just be quiet or say you never did it, don't act like you know everything by copy-pasting someone else's opinion.
I’m guilty of that lol. I talk about how much I really like Jinx as a character but I’ve never actually played League of Legends. Online competitive games aren’t really my thing but I still love the characters and lore from what I’ve seen. Pretty much all of my admiration of Jinx comes from Arcane and not the games themselves. I always viewed her as fun but kind of a Harley Quinn knockoff. Arcane gave her a ton more depth and that really resonated with me and makes me appreciate her in game character more.

I love Illidan as a character but I’ve never played World of WarCraft either. I played a good amount of WarCraft 3 when it came out but never played the MMORPG because I couldn’t bring myself to play a game with monthly fees. Other characters I love like the Battletoads, Raziel, and Death come from games I played but never got particularly far in. I beat the Battletoads arcade game and Battletoads & Double Dragon but the original game and Battlemaniacs were too hard for me to get past stage 4. I still loved what I played of those games though.

Totodilebros where you at?

Ready to take him out on a new adventure.

No I'm just wrong. Not sure where I got that impression from actually...Maybe it was the previous game being set in the past.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus didn't have Mega Evolution either. They could take the same approach or add new megas.Don't think they'll do both though 'cuz uh...

Kalosianmeganiumite...
It'll be interesting to see how they'd handle regional forms since this would be the first game they could do both as Gen 7 didn't add any new Megas. They could do a combined Mega like how the Applin evolutions share a Gigantimax form, but I wouldn't be surprised if they did separate them and gave the stone an abbreviation for the region (ex. K.MegaMeganiumite).

That said, if forced to pick I personally just want Regional forms as I liked what they did overall with PLA's.

Here is a little something: Don’t you wish we got more than costumes, characters and stages for DLC? I know we have updates for modes, but DLC bosses, items, Pokemon and Assist Trophies, maybe those could work?
I don't know much people would be willing to pay for what essentially boils down to non-playable content.

That said, I wouldn't be against what KOF XV/SF6 have done with certain DLC characters; having a boss challenge alongside them that basically makes them super beefed up with unique moves and attributes, plus a reward if you manage to beat it. They kinda tried it with Sephiroth but he really wasn't that difficult or different compared to the base character.

I always thought it be cool if each DLC pack came with an assist trophy from the series of the character in on top of everything.

For example: For joker we would get a Futaba assist trophy where she flies in her space ship Persona in the back ground giving you different buffs and she leaves a bomb when she is about to leave similar to her All out attack in Persona 5 Royal.

For Steve it be a creeper assist trophy that goes into the nearest opponent and then explodes for big damage and knock back.

Etc you get the idea

As long as the costumes are priced reasonably like the Mii outfits, I’d gladly buy any of them that I really like. DLC stages would be cool too at a reduced price compared to a full Fighter’s Pass character.

As long as they were bundled with the existing Fighters Pass, then I wouldn't mind. I'm the kind of guy who wants to see that sort of content within a Challenger Pack just so people can get a little more bang for their buck rather than selling things like character costumes and music packs separately from the main Fighters Pass.

That's different. You can like the character even if you haven't played the game. And you also admitted to not playing the game rather than acting like you did. So that's not a problem.

I’d argue Arcane is still valid when it comes to appreciating Jinx as a character. It’s not the game proper but it is an official piece of LoL media. Heck, Arcane’s probably where most of the personality of anyone in that show is lmao

And like Wonder Smash said, you openly admit you haven’t played the game so you definitely don’t have that know-it-all attitude I talked about.

That’s true. As long as you’re honest that you don’t really have experience with the game they come from, that’s fine. I try to be open with what games I have or haven’t played and why I like the characters I do. Plus, I don’t think I can really be accused of bandwagoning with the characters I support. Being naive and overly optimistic is another question entirely though lol.

As for opinions about the game, yeah, if somebody never actually played them, then they have no business talking about them like that.
And that’s the part that is the pet peeve for me.

You’re very much allowed to be interested in a character from a game you haven’t played. Heck, I do that a lot myself.

You’re fine, dude

I prefer Regional Forms because A. You can actually add them to your Pokemon collection, and B. They are lateral shifts instead of OP upgrades.

The only Mii costumes I bought were ones that came with music, and ones for characters I want to become Fighters.

I pretty much have to when I state that if we're gonna get a Gen 9 Pokemon I'd like it to be Pawmot. I'm not interested in playing another mainline Pokemon game until they're not rushed out anymore and the number of Gen 9 designs I like are...really limited.

i did buy the pawmi stickers on line mobile though

Convinced that Game Freak just can't make graphics on par with other Switch titles. It's honestly embarrassing at this point; we're at the end of the Switch's lifespan, they've been given a lot of time and the environments STILL look amateur.

Can they just get Namco on board to handle the art of their games already? New Pokemon Snap was the perfect direction to go, it disappoints me that the main games can't look like that.

I can totally relate. I do still buy the main entries and Legends games because I still think it’s fun to discover new Pokemon as I play through the game but it’s definitely disappointing the games aren’t a lot better than they are. I’d have been okay with Dexit if that meant the games would have really high production values and extra content but it seems like we got the worst of both worlds.

That's a good point: They'll probably do what they did with Mewtwo and Charizard and do something like Meganiumite K.

Pokemon Champions seems like what I wanted them to add to Home, just as a separate product.

The ability to battle other people using all the Pokemon in your Home collection.

Finally, my Dark team can return to action!

Actually now that I've brought these up let me show you a fun fact:
Not only is Pawmi the first Gen 9 Pokemon to get its own dedicated sticker set on Line Mobile, it's the first post-Kanto Pokemon to get one period. Will this mean anything for Smash? Probably not!

(in case you're wondering about the one with Sprigatito, that's a general mix of Pokemon, not just grass cats)

My guess for Smash 6 development timeline: development started somewhere around late '23 / early '24 and the game will release in late '26, as for the anouncement, i'd say early '26, imo we don't really need a 1 year+ of pre-release this time either, a march anouncement and a november release date would give us 8 months of pre-release, they could have a spiritual successor to the Smash Bros. DOJO to give us updates of the game every day in those 8 months.
That sounds awful

I'm interested to see how they handle the rules. It looks like they're allowing all of the gimmicks (or at least just Mega ecolution and Terrastilization), and certain moves and Pokémon can cause problems in that format. The most notable examples of this are ReviveCats (which at least can be removed by not allowing Assist to select Revival Blessing), and Terastil Electric Shedinja with an Air Balloon (immune to any direct attack).

Yeah, Champions has the potential to be exactly what I want. I’m just worried that they’re going to get greedy and charge monthly fees to play it. I just want Stadium 3.

I'll be honest, I'm actually in the same boat for most of my MWs lol

But at least they not only made me want them in Smash, but they also made me interested in playing their games…somehow.

Apparently it's been confirmed that not all Pokemon will be available in Champions at launch, but I feel like Champions is a case where that'll like be updated over time, especially if Gen 10 comes out next year, since I don't think Pokemon Company would want to make a battle sim that gets outdated in a year.

I'd be surprised if they didn't frankly considering this is their first battle sim game on a platform that can actually be regularly updated.

EDIT: Plus it's also gonna be on IOS and Android, so yeah I'd be shocked if they didn't update it with more Pokemon over time lol

Do you think they’ll have single player and local multiplayer modes like Stadium did? I enjoyed battling the AI with the campaign and battling my friends on the same console locally. The mini games were a lot of fun too.

An official version of Pokemon Showdown? :p
I’ll take it if it’s a standalone game with no monthly fees. What I really want is another Stadium game that just lets you store all your Pokemon on it and battle locally with friends using those Pokemon. I liked having the ability to battle against my own Pokemon. The single player modes were fun too.

I do also think that even with a limitation at launch since not all Pokemon will be present, it'll still lead to interesting setups in Champions because in the trailer the two teams were Mega Charizard X/Hisuian Samurott and Tera Water Dondozo/Aegislash, AKA a Mega with a Hisuian Pokemon and Terastallization alongside a Pokemon that isn't available in Scarlet and Violet.

I just kinda wonder if EVERY gimmick is there or just the most recently used ones. Like will I also be able to throw around Z Moves or not, for instance.

Huh, it is kinda like Showdown isn't it?

... Oh god there's a non-zero percent chance Showdown gets shut down isn't there. They can't POSSIBLY be THAT brazen, right?
I mean there's no way they don't know Showdown exists and they haven't done anything yet, so I doubt it.

It's been many, many years since Showdown released and Nintendo's known to C&D fan projects instantly, I think if they would've wanted to C&D it they would've shut it down a long time ago.

...is what I would say if this app isn't something that could potentially see Showdown as a threat.

I mean, Showdown never was an issue for any games during its lifespan till now. If it doesn’t clash with product, no real reason to care. Now it could.

It could go either way, imo.

Do you think they’d actually charge a separate monthly fee for Champions in addition to Home? If they did, you’d have to pay three separate monthly fees just to play with all your Pokemon online (Switch online, Home, and Champions). That’s a bit much for me especially considering the lack of polish modern Pokemon games have.

Totodile's one of my more favorite starters anyway, but he's really the pick of the litter here in particular, ain't he?
Really? Not the Unova starter mixed with the 2 Johto ones?

...which they probably did because Legends Arceus already had Cyndaquil anyway.

"Pick of the litter" means they're the one people want, and compared to the least popular starter to date, and the most forgettable starter to date, that's definitely true.

EDIT: Bayleaf is cool though, it's Chikorita and especially Meganium that fail to hit.
