I'm amused by the fact that they used two of the least popular starters out there, and Totodile, who isn't unpopular, but evolves into the oft forgotten Feraligatr.

Very curious to see what they do with the Kalosian variants.

Looks like Pokémon Legends Z-A is coming in late 2025 for the Switch 1.

Pokémon has always been late to a new console, this should not be surprising. Plus, they like that holiday release date. Expect the game to release in November.

I can’t watch the Pokémon Direct until I get out of work and play with my dog, so around 4:00. I’ll try to avoid what I can but it’s cool to see Totodile get some love. I’ve always been a big fan of the Feraligatr line. I feel like it’s way too late for Smash though. Maybe one of the later DLC passes could still work.

... for some reason I was always under the assumption that it was way bigger than it actually is. Might be because of the neck lmao.

Smash Bros is probably still in development or planning stages, so maybe next year once Switch 2 has gained stability. Plus, we still got Ultimate to keep fans maintain until it's ready.

The more i think about it, the most it makes sense for her to be added as DLC. And like you said, she's what comes up when i think about ER.

How does everyone feel about the possibility of seeing characters from more niche third party games with Nintendo ties?

Would be cool, altrough not sure what are the chances of it, i think it's possible but not likely to happen, i think it will only happen if a niche 3rd party character picks up Sakurai's interest and Nintendo is okay with it taking a FP pass spot.

I’m assuming that Sakurai’s project that began the planning phase in 2021 and development in 2022 is Smash but we’re all just guessing for now. Thankfully, I think we’ll find out in April if it’s Smash or something else. I’m leaning towards Smash since it almost always releases in the first two years of a console’s life.

I think Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Mario Kart 9 are going to be the kick off for Switch 2's announcement. I could be possible smash bros is announced later, but I have doubts for now.


Also, Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution GBA copies (Hopefully) are coming. WayForward always has something to keep fans surprise despite coincidences occuring at times.

About Z-A....the game looks....good? People in the youtube comments are saying it looks bad, but i don't get why honestly, i also heard someone say it took inspiration from Palworld....which im insure if it's true or not as i never played Palworld.
Also, Luminose City is likely to return as a stage in Smash 6 now, i guess lol.

The combat in Z-A looks fun, but I just don’t get why they’re going with the SV art style . SWSH wasn’t a good looking game either, but the character models and shading looked way better than this semi-realistic thing they’re trying to do now. All of the environments look naked because of the lighting and low-quality textures.

I say this about everything it seems but I’d love to see Pokemon go for a cel shaded aporoach again. They already did something to that effect in XY but I think they could do it a lot better now. I’ve seen some fan trailers with that style that look amazing. If they can get anywhere close to something like ArcSysWork’s style, I’d love that. I just don’t think the people currently at GameFreak are capable of anything like that without a lot of outside help. I’m kind of tired of Pokemon looking so much worse than every other first party game on the console.

Yeah, AZ and Eternal Floette are in the trailer together just chilling, so it has to be after X and Y since the end of that game is when AZ gets Floette back and they called the urban redevelopment plan "high tech" so it wouldn't be in the past before AZ lost Floette.

Also very interested in that Pokemon Champions game because seeing Mega Charizard X face down Tera Water Dondozo after they acknowledged Battle Revolution for the first time ever makes me think it's basically just a game like that, which I've been hoping for ever since Dexit happened since now there's a reason to make a battle sim with everything in it, but I need more info on it to be sure about if that's the case lol

My guess for Smash 6 development timeline: development started somewhere around late '23 / early '24 and the game will release in late '26, as for the anouncement, i'd say early '26, imo we don't really need a 1 year+ of pre-release this time either, a march anouncement and a november release date would give us 8 months of pre-release, they could have a spiritual successor to the Smash Bros. DOJO to give us updates of the game every day in those 8 months.

The combat in Z-A looks fun, but I just don’t get why they’re going with the SV art style . SWSH wasn’t a good looking game either, but the character models and shading looked way better than this semi-realistic thing they’re trying to do now. All of the environments look naked because of the lighting and low-quality textures.

It's actually not, but it's not committing to not being that either. Like, nothing is as detailed as it was in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet, with even the Pokémon reverting back to just being flat colors, but the style of the models and human character designs are like in Pokémon Scarlet/Violet.

The environmental design is much better, but the texturework still pretty bad. Not quite as bad as Pokémon Scarlet/Violet since that game looks completely untextured in places, but it's very flat in a way that makes them look like background standee textures that you aren't supposed to be seeing this close up.

EDIT: So...it's not ugly for once, but Gamefreak has a long way to go before their games look as good as it can/should.

Eh. I'd prefer Smash focus it's 3P efforts on more classic iconic characters.

She is the hardest boss in the game, completely optional but is the most iconic boss in the game as well. She's the only boss who is considered to be at full strength in the game.

None of that is accurate anymore as of Shadow of the Erdtree.

Eh...not really. Diablo is the main adversary and the face of the Diablo franchise. Malenia is a bonus boss you might not even meet in a normal playthrough.

Yeah, it looks a bit too modern to be after that war. I guess their development project involves expanding the Lumiose City we saw in XY.

Pokémon Legends: Arceus didn't have Mega Evolution either. They could take the same approach or add new megas.Don't think they'll do both though 'cuz uh...

So Kingdom Hearts Sephiroth then. Either way, I’ll still take that over an avatar. If she’s a character that really resonated with a lot of fans and is who people first think of when thinking of the game, that’s all that matters. It’s not really a deal breaker if she was just a secret boss if she was otherwise really memorable and likable.

There are a lot of people who will claim that X game or character is the greatest of all time but actually never played the game. A certain fanbase was very guilty of that before a certain remake dropped but I'm not going to say who. If you've been speculating for long enough, you probably know who I'm talking about.

People being sheep like that, believing the opinion of other people without making up their own mind by actually trying it, is a big pet peeve of mine. Not just for video games but for anything in general. If you haven't tried it, just be quiet or say you never did it, don't act like you know everything by copy-pasting someone else's opinion.

My memory isn't the best, so I don't really recall it at this moment but I think I have an idea of which character and remake you're talking about. However, I will say that there's nothing wrong with pointing how important a game is without playing it, assuming that the game is indeed important. People can look up and read about the significance of any game to see that.

As for opinions about the game, yeah, if somebody never actually played them, then they have no business talking about them like that.

Yeah I guess if you count the Shadows DLC the Final Boss there is now the hardest in game. Although I did hear that he got nerfed so idk.
