I mean I'd take that. I already made a Reimu Mii using the Nakoruru Hair and stuff in Ultimate, so getting like Reimu as a Mii Costume alongside a remix of something like Spring Lane - Colorful Path, The Ground's Color Is Yellow, Dichromatic Lotus Butterfly - Red and White, or Maiden's Capriccio would be sick lolFwiw Reimu seems like a good fit for a costume - you could also get a piece of music that way too. Assuming they handle those the same way again.
A little late but it's under the three dots on the top bar of the comment box. If you mouse over it, it's callect Insert.Ah dang my bad I keep that in mind for next time. Kind of new to some things here. I still don’t even know how to spoiler mark stuff here lol.
Yeah, Touhou generally occupies a separate circle from most Nintendo systems. At the very least there's been an actual presence on the Switch, bolstered by localized fangames (Which themselves are iffy in regards to Smash likelihood because even if they're being sold on the eShop, they're still fangames) but Nintendo just doesn't have a strong working relationship with ZUN. Granted, he's just one guy, so if ZUN and Sakurai do get in contact I can see negotiations happening pretty smoothly, but as of now there's not much precedent for that meeting to happen.Yeah, as much as I love Reimu and am a proponent for her getting into Smash, I don't think she's up there with like Sans, Shantae, and Zagreus.
I do think it's theoretically possible because Toby has connections with both Sakurai and ZUN and Undertale feels pretty likely to get something (so they could establish that connection at some point), and there have been a few games localized on the Switch (Sunken Fossil World and Antinomy of Common Flowers specifically, which were still made by ZUN though admittedly they're not the main shmups), but yeah, she's in my long-shot category for the reasons you mentioned basically lol
To go through my thoughts in order. Ridley is almost perfect but is lacking signature moves like Pogo Bounce. Samus needed a redesign in Smash 4 and is still sorely lacking. Dark Samus is kinda disappointing given they gave her all the effort in animations and then zilch for gameplay. Zss has fun gameplay but represents like one segment in the series and was added for a gimmick she doesn't even fulfill. But it has four characters. It's doing fine.
I mean yeah, I was stating a general feeling I hold towards the roster and then tied it into the character I was discussing. I'm not saying I think Raven Beak is a special lock or anything. That's something anybody could say about any character they like.
Smash has treated Metroid as 'Samus and Samus' for 4 games, only really changing when they caved and added two characters for fan demand. Despite being recurring antagonists, keep in mind both of them were and still are dead as of current Metroid canon.I think it applies even less to Zelda, and, like Metroid, Smash still treats that series closer to a "static cast" one than the likes of FE and Xenoblade.
She's a perfect candidate for a Mii Gunner costume. Or possibly a Mii Mage. (Mage fits her character better, but Gunner fits her series better).Yeah, as much as I love Reimu and am a proponent for her getting into Smash, I don't think she's up there with like Sans, Shantae, and Zagreus.
Ah, that makes more sense then. For the vets. When they aren't all shown off right at the beginning.
To be fair, in Metroid 1, she can curl into a ball, even without the suit. Pretty flexible I'd say.Source for the flexible martial artist bit.
Thank you for the info now I finally understand how to do the spoiler mark.A little late but it's under the three dots on the top bar of the comment box. If you mouse over it, it's callect Insert.

Though, as people have mentioned before, I can easily see a costume happening for the same reasons. ZUN wants Touhou in Smash and he's incredibly lax with rights, so even if Reimu as a fighter isn't in the cards, they could easily secure the rights to a quick costume or Spirit/Trophy/whatever collectable Smash 6 is going with
Hm...Meta Knight is listed here as a "pointed sword dancer", and given how he operates I have no idea how this theme resulted in this move set.https://sourcegaming.info/2015/09/26/sakurai-on-character-choices/ Source for the flexible martial artist bit.
He most likely would. I doubt he'd get in over the protagonist. This might sound like a hot take but Sans feels like a character who would fit more like an assist trophy than a character.
I’m just about finished with Metaphor. I’m at a secret end game boss that I’ve spent several hours trying and failing but it eventually always uses an attack that wipes out my party in one hit. I’m about to say forget it and just beat the game. Still a great game overall but that secret boss is infuriating. Not sure if Will (the protagonist) has much a shot for Smash but he’d be pretty cool.Well I have completed Ys 1 and 2.
Adol isn't setting the world on fire for me personally but he's neat. Good music though.
You're probably thinking of "dancer" as normal dancing and not the art of sword dancing.Hm...Meta Knight is listed here as a "pointed sword dancer", and given how he operates I have no idea how this theme resulted in this move set.
No I'm thinking about it in terms of sword dancing, but even then Marth fits that bill way more than Meta Knight really seems to, as he does a lot more flailing his sword around than he does those smooth, practiced strikes. And looking at the way his power fantasy works, it's much less weaving in and out and punishing mistakes and more displaying his speed and power by turning himself into a tornado. You're probably thinking of "dancer" as normal dancing and not the art of sword dancing.
Yeah, Ys I and II are extremely basic, and Adol doesn't have much of a character beyond the manual at this point in time. Later games give him much flashier moves and slowly turn him into an lovable doofus who just really likes adventure. The music is definitely the most memorable aspectWell I have completed Ys 1 and 2.

I'm hoping it'll get a playable character since one was planned for Smash 4 and I'm hoping Sakurai looks into that idea again, but realistically I'd take pretty much anything since I haven't gotten a new game in a decade lolDo you guys think Rhythm Heaven could get a stage, assist trophy....or even a item next time?
Kinda weird that the most this series has got has a random enemy in Smash Run in Smash 3DS, specially bc it was a active series back then.
I'm hoping it'll at least get a stage with some music, if not a character.Do you guys think Rhythm Heaven could get a stage, assist trophy....or even a item next time?

What? You don't like bumping into enemies for combat?Well I have completed Ys 1 and 2.

Ys2 giving me a projectile improved my opinion tenfold. What? You don't like bumping into enemies for combat?
It can exist without Sakurai. I can imagine maybe HAL Labs developing the series again. Not sure about the negatives but looking at the Kirby games, especially Kirby Fighters, they seem like a company I can trust at least.Hey guys, on a seperate tangent... I know we're talking about Smash 6 but I think I would be good to discuss the Smash series in the farther future so to speak. Sakurai has worked on Smash for a long time now, although I think he would like to work on other games he always comes back to Smash because he doesn't believe other people can handle to job or something along those lines.
With that being said, sooner or later Sakurai will not be in the director's chair anymore, whether if he doesn't want to be director anymore or the most grimmest possiblity he passes away. I believe he said he tried to find a successor for his role but it didn't work out if I correctly recall. But that was a long time ago. And Smash is not only one of Nintendo's biggest properties but a phenomena event in the gaming sphere for every console generations. Still selling strong to this day.
So I guess what I am asking is Do you think Smash can exist without Sakurai/with someone else in the helm. If so what do you imagine that being like/or thought about the matter, positives and negatives?
I'm not really sure Smash without Sakurai is the best future for the series, but if that were to be the case…I guess it wouldn't hurt to give Shinya Kumazaki from HAL Laboratory a shot as director.Hey guys, on a seperate tangent... I'm sure they can. The formula is pretty well established at this point. So I guess what I am asking is Do you think Smash can exist without Sakurai/with someone else in the helm. If so what do you imagine that being like/or thought about the matter, positives and negatives?
Figured I’d share some of my most wanted newcomers at the moment.
Another good one from Sonic R would be Radiant Emerald (Diamond In The Sky).Come to think of it, on an unrelated note, a Smash remix of Radical City (Living In The City) would actually be pretty cool. Richard Jacques' music could use some recognition in Smash.
just about everyone on this forum has considered the possibility of octolings. there's no need to think it's a surprising wantActually now that I'm thinking on it, I want Octoling from Splatoon 2 and 3. Even as an Echo Fighter or a palette swap of Inkling.
What? Since I started Splatoon 3 when it first launched in September 2022, I've been an Octoling. If I'm going to start playing the series on the third installment, I may as well be the second species that was introduced as playable in 2.
no one is a lock. and certainly not 100%Octoling is the one character that is a 100% lock for the next game.
It’s HOW they get in that’s the real question. You could justify them being unique, semi-clone, an echo, or an alt.
Even so, Octoling is the closest thing to a lock there is.no one is a lock. and certainly not 100%
people said the same thing about RexEven so, Octoling is the closest thing to a lock there is.
Nice picks. I don't know who the girl in the blue beret and the guy at the bottom right are. I want to say the guy is Frank West, but I don't think that's right.Figured I’d share some of my most wanted newcomers at the moment.

I also really want Chibi-Robo, but I couldn’t find good 2D art of them.
