I’m kinda hoping that the leakers are all in the dark about who Fighter 5 is, and nobody can pin down who Fighter 5 is unless. Unless they do know who it is and just can’t say anything this time, though I’d be surprised if that would be the case, but then it makes you really wonder who it is then , the only reason I can see why that would be if it’s a really big character, cause remember no known leaker didn’t really know about Cloud at the time of Smash 4 DLC aside from that one guy that seem to have some attachments to Square.

Sabi continues to tease something for TGA. I honestly think that at this point she doesn't know anything about Game Awards.

I mean, think of it this way: most people who expect gaming news would be excited for TGA regardless of Smash news.

I don't think we're getting news anytime soon if Vergeben hasn't spoken up yet.

Still though, I really hope most of these insider leak circles really don’t know didley about Fighter so that we can all be surprised like Joker was.

Honestly, at this point I just want the Pass to be over so we can go into the next season. Obviously I can only speak for myself, but I feel like I've already got my money's worth in it, so I just wanna know how season 2 will go down.

Everyone's clamoring for me to shut up about female characters, but i'm here desperately trying to keep the dream alive.

Terry was the second most hype DLC to me so far, bar only the bear and bird.

I wouldn't get my hopes up, they will need that HUGE character to sell the (hypothetical) 2nd fighters pass.
I expect the next character to fall in one of these 3 categories:
-Considerable fan request.
-"Promotional" pick.
-Or aimed to a specific demographic.

I highly doubt that. If they acted like she didn't exist, people would end up wondering if she was actually going to be playable. Sakurai loves SNK too much to miss such a major character, especially when freaking discount Jason Vorhees makes the cut.

Your choices are either nipping it in the bud and generating censorship discourse for a while, or making Mai Shiranui a new speculation mainstay with a 0% chance behind the scenes.

I think my final characters I’d actually really die for are geno and doom slayer, however I’m kinda into the wild ideas like Phoenix Wright or the above mention.

Eeeeehhhh I dunno. I'm not at all a Terry fan (probably my least favorite Ultimate inclusion next to Ken), but he seems to have a pretty sizable fan following in the FGC. It's just that FGC picks are never popular in Smash circles.

They didnt have any additional DLC planned while planning Fighters Pass 1 tho. I gotta think they want to end with a bang.

With the utmost respect to Terry fans, I really doubt that the sakurai gang would choose a character as niche as this guy for the last fighter.

In fact, and this is pure speculation on my part, i believe that they put Terry after Banjo and before #5 because he's quite niche. Just my hypothesis

Coming from a resident SNK Fangirl, our franchise is quite niche yet we enjoy a great following.

I'm also with the fact that next fighter is also niche. This is part of my "KOS-MOS is FP5" gamble.

I mean, you could argue the same for the other characters. You can say Joker is relatively a niche character if you're not into JRPGs. The same goes for Hero, the character itself (not the franchise) it's probably even more niche than Joker.
B&K more or less the same, if you're not into platformers probably you don't know bear and bird. I would argue B&K is the most niche one from the pass, their most known games are from N64 and they didn't have new games in the last years, except if you count Rare Replay. Probably most of younger Nintendo fans didn't knew Banjo & Kazooie until they were announced for Ultimate.
About Terry, of course most people who knows him well are people who usually plays fighting games, but if we're talking about the most iconic one and the most recognizable I think Terry wins without much discussion.

Of course this always depends on perspective and each own experience, but Terry has been active for a long time, it's if I'm not mistaken the character with most appearances in fighting games and his classic design is the most recognizable from all the pass.

Nintendo has been more careful with the datamines, hence why a lot of dataminers got annoyed when someone shared brave's existence.

I do think that the ordering was done more so on purpose with Terry. People say there's a pattern with character orderings with Smash DLC, since Smash 4 and they chose niche characters for the end. I don't think they're going to do that this time. Again, I think there's a reason why Terry ended up being #4 and not #5. Of all the characters, Terry has been the one with the most backlash and also has been overshadowed with the announcement of more characters after this fighter pass, it was like they used that as a Trump card if Terry didn't blow over well. It also didn't help that Terry also got leaked, so there's that.

If they dropped that announcement before Fighter 5, that makes me think that they are more super confident as to who Fighter 5 is and they will drum up more up than Terry had. Which is why I'm still super confident that TGA is probably going to happen, especially if it's a big character. My hopeful guesses are still Leon Kennedy, Dante, and Sora.
