For those of you wondering what a Tales of character would play like, they could literally transfer most of the stuff from the video into Smash fairly easily. Note: There are some major spoilers for ToV in the last minute.

Over limit would be such a cool mechanic in Smash! Really hoping any potential Bamco rep is a Tales one. There's soooooo much quality content to pull from.

I'd prefer she'd just say nothing rather than tease us and implying to know something. Though she is heavily hinting at something being revealed at the Game Awards, and I wonder if she could be wrong about that one.

I will etransfer Sabi 100 dollars no questions asked if she can, as of today, accurately tell me who is to be revealed at TGA (if anyone).

From what I've heard, Sabi only deals in rare wasabi artifacts, similar to how Vergeben deals strictly in rare veggie burgers.

That's a dangerous gamble. Expecting something isn't the same as knowing something.

If you're seriously considering paying someone to leak info then I think you're thirsting too hard. :dr^_^:

I mean, think of it this way: most people who expect gaming news would be excited for TGA regardless of Smash news.

I don't think we're getting news anytime soon if Vergeben hasn't spoken up yet.

Sabi's pretty tight and shut about everything she knows so far. Some user who talks to Sabi, Fatmanonice, knows something but refuses to say anything upon her request. I assume Nekoo Nekoo knows something too but sworn not to say anything.

Either way, we're in the dark.

First, did you guys see my profile picture? I finally added one! So cute! I wanted to fit in with all of you seasoned Smashboards veterans.

Second, regarding our next reveal, when do we think it will be? I've seen a lot of talk about how the Game Awards reveal last year was kind of an exception and Nintendo wouldn't do it again for a year old game. So my question would be this: if not the VGA, then when are we getting it?

We know that we were given a "before February" timeframe for the last fighter pass character, but it's most likely going to be close to the amiibos, which I believe are launching in January. We're not getting anything else this week for sure and next week doesn't seem extremely likely given how recently the Terry direct was. (And Pokemon is releasing next week, so if Nintendo and Friends are going to focus on anything, it's that.)

That gives us about 3 weeks before the week of the Game Awards to reveal something. Do you guys think we'll get a reveal in a Nintendo Direct of some sort?

I personally think that we'll get another reveal there at the VGA. Smash is the best selling fighting game of all time, the second best selling Switch title, and the fastest selling Nintendo game of all time. I don't doubt that it will win an award. And what better way to close out the fighter pass with a major reveal?

Also, while I'm at it, I'm going to make a prediction...kind of. I think this last fighter will be geared more toward a western audience or will be a fan favorite (in the vein of Ridley, K. Rool, etc.). This is appropriate given the venue for the Game Awards and who primarily watches the show. People make the argument that Banjo and Kazooie were that fighter, but I call hogwash on that. They was extremely popular in online Japanese polls too (usually in the top 10), and they placed pretty decently in European ones. In my opinion, B&K was for everyone.

What do you guys think?

Anything to get this conversation away from Mai's boobs...not that there is anything wrong with them...they're quite nice, actually...

Well there are other SNK franchises that although not so popular as KOF are worth mentioning, like The Last Blade, King of The Monsters, World Heroes

The only fighter she ever directly hinted on her own was Banjo, and she covered it up with "but maybe my source isn't meaning anything by it." This was before Shinobi.

Ngl, I never heard of those series before. Sounds like they'd need another 45 minute direct if they got in.

Now I'm sad that Jeanne D'Arc isn't one of the stage cameos.

You know what would be hilarious if we got a second SNK character with material from other SNK games? If it also came with music and spirits from Fighter's History, one of many Street Fighter II clones and (to my knowledge) the only one that was targeted by Capcom for a lawsuit (which likely isn't happening since that technically isn't an SNK series, but the possibility is still funny to me).

Rex and Pyra would be cool, but I think we should get at least one more Pokemon to rep Gen 8 since it's also on the Switch.

And then Sakurai plays a reverse card on all of us by revealing that Mai wasn't included in the stage because shes planned to be playable in season 2 and he was just messing with all of us.
