Brew's and Shifty's source is saying Geno might be in. Not sure how reliable they are, but it's something worth nothing.

I don’t know if I trust this Brew Guy. He doesn’t seem to have much credibility behind him other than Piranha Plant with Smash. I would go with Sabi’s NoA source than with this guy. Especially since both Verge and Sabi said Ryu is not Fighter 5!

But, it seems like most of the leakers we’ve been hearing from seem to be going against the grain on that whole Mii costume video leak being fake, even if Doom and Geno looks likely.

All I have to say on the matter, is that Geno doesn't depend Doom Guy if he makes it in and neither Doom Guy depending on Geno if he makes it in, and that this whole Mii costume leak was just made to mess with Smash fans. For all we know they could both be in at separate times post fighters pass, and we don’t see them involved with each other at all. I’ll keep this guy in mind, but I don’t know if I trust him enough.

I don't think Shirou would be likely in the slightest, as he's a bland character with weak moveset potential and, as you observe, in literal sex scenes. Plus, ew, he just sucks. Mash is the only Fate character I can possibly see getting in, as FGO is huge, but even then I don't think it's ever going to happen.

Aside from the H-scenes(which were cut out in the remakes), Saber is very very SFW. And CERO does not care for crossovers that come from NSFW series as long as the content from those series coming to the crossover is SFW. Otherwise, I'm positive Bayonetta wouldn't have been in.
Plus, part of the reason those H-scenes existed was, at the time, they felt like they had to do them because most Visual Novels at the time were following that trend and were worried about Fate/Stay night not selling because of that. When they saw they didn't need to afterwards, the scenes were cut in the remakes.

Her artist And creator, as well as one of the founders of Type-Moon, is very passionate regarding her. She's practically their Waifu. And the other Type Moon creator is also big on Saber too. If Fate gets a rep, it WILL be Saber. Takeuchi and Nasu would both make sure of it.

Thank you lol Anytime I've heard a friend who's into Fate talk about Shirou, it's that he sucks, so when someone suggests he has to be the hypothetical Fate rep over Saber all I can think is "Why? That would just make people mad"

- Namco Bandai Rep (Yuri/Lloyd/Heihachi/KOS-MOS/Nightmare/Agumon)
- Xeno Rep (Rex & Pyra/Elma/KOS-MOS)
- Capcom (Leon/Jill/Phoenix Wright/Dante/Amaterasu)
- Ubisoft Rep (Rayman)
- Activision Rep (Crash)
- Koei Tecmo (Ryu)

Then we get to the lesser known (but still important) companies that have no representation in Smash:

I don't know if Nintendo would want to put a character from a series like FATE into Smash, just because of it's content even though I know characters like Saber/Gilgamesh are pretty much the most popular female and male characters in Japan since forever.

Shirou is only a good character when his entire identity is destroyed (I suppose as a certain spoiler he's good too). Very few people like him and he almost never represents Fate, That's Saber's job. I agree with the notion that Shirou over Saber would please absolutely no one, not even Fate Fans.

Well according to one person experienced on modding on Gamefaqs. It looked more like the hat was bobbing up and down instead to him. And even if it was jiggling, there's actually a mii hat in the game already that jiggles, the Slime Hat.

And on the topic of Brew and Shifty. They should be ignored at this point. They've been shifting the goalpost since Terry's reveal and it makes them on the same level as Loz.

I Don't think that a game awards reveal is likely unles is someone directly related to it like Doomguy, Dante, etc... that somehow the potential hype could outlast the lack of surprise. (everyone is expecting a smash character reveal at VGA now, unlike Joker that came out completely out of the blue.

I could see a more niche character being revealed at VGA if the surprise isn't the niche character, but something else., for example, i totally could see they revealing ammateratsu in the VGA if they use teh trailer not to surprise us with amateratsu, but with the announcment of a new Okami game. I though they would do this with banjo.. but in the end there isn't any Banjo game in development anyways.

The Mallow hat moves differently than the Slime hat and the Tails hat.

Whatever it was doing, it still had its own sort-of physics and didn't follow the head perfectly like the solid hats do. However, I don't know what the modders can do.

I don't think that Nintendo gives a damn about saber originating from a game that had porn (not a porn game) and honestly i don't think it should be a problem for cero as long as is not an important feature of the character, (like a senran kagura character) and regarding western audiences... i don'tr think a lot of western people (me included) have played the fate games. in teh west Saber is first and foremost an anime character.

I am well aware of Saber's popularity, and I know chosing Shirou over her would probably cause a world war, I just put popularity aside and went for the trend Smash often follows, of the original protagonist, though this "rule" never existed to begin with due to Pikachu's presence in Smash 64.
So... what if they teamed up? that'd be the best way to represent the FATE franchise as a whole, the entire concept of master-servant.
Not that I expect, let alone want FATE representation in Smash (even though Hollow Ataraxia is one of my favorite games of all time) but I'd like to see the reaction of everyone.

Gilgamesh is far from the most popular male character. I mean, I know Caster Gilgamesh might get a popularity boost because of the Babylonia anime series, but regular Gilgamesh is far from the most popular. It's mostly Archer, although Shirou has really been taking that title lately because of Heaven's Feel. And yes, I'm aware Gilgamesh is called Archer in Fate/Zero, but you know who I'm talking about.

I love Fate/Zero and F/SN (The shows, movie, and VN. Not so much of everything else that surrounds the franchise.), but I'm honestly not expecting anything like that in Smash. Hell, I'm not even sure if I want a Fate character. I guess my reasoning is since the franchise is a lot more known for it's interesting story and characters rather than gameplay. And to be honest, there's very little there in terms of a game. You make choices and proceed, or get bad endings and try another choice. There's really not much too it that I think warrants representation. There's a bit more to it in the sequel, but even then I feel like it's not much.

If there's one video game franchise that deserves to be in Smash that is based in a VN genre, it's Ace Attorney.

Japan disagrees with you, especially with the more recent popularity polls. Just because Saber and Archer are much more popular doesn't make Shirou any less popular.

But that said, if putting in a character being used to represent Fate as a whole, that role definitely belongs to Saber, as the Servants are one of the main selling points and highlights of the series.
