Well, the Switch port of SamSho should be coming out soon, and Mina is in the pipeline for that, so they're certainly doing good things, and I got that going for me if nothing else.

At least his face still had some different expressions even if it was mainly just his stoic expression due to Sakurai largely basing him off his original appearances.
We are technically in a timeline of Grinch Leak 2.0.
Mick Gordon was recording some Doom sounding music earlier this year that he confirmed wasn’t for Eternal.
If this is real, then it’s from a play tester. They could just be testing out the Mii costumes. We might not officially see these costumes for a long time.
Man this anime is hard to keep up with with all of these timelines to keep track of.

If we're going to be "accurate", then there'd still be plenty of characters above him. Hell, I wouldn't be surprised if Mario would be above him.

I fear your reaction if all of this was fake...Not that I'm concluding or anything. It's just that you might go through the same phase I did.
I know it's kind of a stretch but they could have just modded a whole new mii head with the hat pre-attached to it (similarly to modding in a head-covering helmet, except it would be a head-covering helmet... with a face) . Since we don't see the actual mii fighter customisation menu, there's no way to know if it's a real hat or just a completely made up/modded mii head.
Oh yeah, we're in the same back and forth situation where evidence keeps piling and being debunked for both sides. Though Grinch was more intense by virtue of more fanbases involved, and more avenues to explore (the image itself, the nature of revealing so many characters, the company that 'made it', the old text leak).
Yet.
I've got a bad feeling about this...
I already got all my hopefuls through Eight from DQ8, the Metroid reps and K.Rool.
For me, if DOOM is restricted to Mii Costumes then this definitely helps Dragonborn's chances. So that's where my hopefulness is!
There's a post last page that talks about why it couldn't be a modded Mii head. At least, I found the explanation convincing.
I know at this point nothing I say will really get through, but just enjoy the ride. If you want off it's fine, but from where I'm sitting it's all good

If that is the case, then I suppose we'd get another Bethesda and Square reps anyway because of the simple presence of the costumes.

I don't think Mallow and Cacodemon are part of the next batch even if the leak is real. Cacodemon would probably come with #5 and Mallow with the next season's first character, I presume.

The Grinch leak had some concrete evidence against it (the battlefield discrepancies). This one has none as of now.
Probably the leaker couldn't contain his excitement.
To be fair, we did get some off the wall Mii costumes when Banjo came out. Goemon, Sans, Team Rocket, Protoman, Zero. None of which had anything to do with Banjo unlike Joker and Hero. This could potentially be the same case with our Legendary Hungry Wolf
