For Example, My Tourney theory that involves the 2010's Tourney not being a thing yet is One of the Reasons that My Eyes are looking closer to a Five Nights at Freddy's character as a legit option, and not just as a Mii Costume.
By that logic, why didn't they hold back the 1990s one? :ultsephiroth:

To be Honest, I didn't even think of the TNT Block at all when considering the Connection between Bomberman and Steve

and the Armor thing with Gil as well, I thought it involved the Treasure collecting Aspect, being close to how you collect Minerals in Minecraft
Treasure-collecting works too.

See? We can come up with better connections than just "blue swords" if we actually look into things.

I do find it a bit funny that the characters revealed in pass 2 so far have been characters that weren't on our minds when they got revealed. No one thought ARMS had a chance until they revealed the guessing game. Most people were hyping up Master Chief when Steve got revealed. And literally no one was thinking about Sephiroth when the game awards rolled. Whoever CP9 is probably will be someone the fandom forgot about when March rolls around.

With only one system to license tracks for, I think "lol we'll just get one winged angel/jenova" is just paranoia.

There is an interesting pattern with the order of reveals (the Smash X “IP”) of each Mii Costumes Waves:

Min Min
  • Ninjara (ARMS) -> same IP as fighter
  • Heihachi (Tekken) -> returning Smash 4
  • Callie and Marie (Splatoon) -> former assist trophy
  • Vault Boy (Fallout) -> “popular” request

Steve
  • Creeper, Pig and Diamond (Minecraft) -> same IP as fighter
  • Gil (Tower of Drouga) -> returning Smash 4
  • Bomberman (Bomberman) -> former assist trophy
  • Travis (No More Heroes) -> “popular” request

I think this pattern is likely to happen in the next challenger packs. With Sephiroth, I think we will get 4 Mii Costumes, as with both Fighter Pass we have been getting an average of 5 mii costumes per wave, last time we got 6, so I think that we will get 4.

In addition, as you can see, we are getting 4 “Smash X IP” splash screens on last two FPs. Also, there is the same order: 1) Same IP as fighter, 2) Returning Smash 4, 3) Base game Assist Trophy, 4) “Popular” request

The first Cross Splash screen we will get is “X Final Fantasy VII”, so I think it will be a Tifa mii costume, as she is very popular among FF fans.

The second splash screen can be Chocobo hat with “X Final Fantasy”. The third splash screen is where my theory falls as I don’t think we will see an assist trophy mii costume, instead we will see Geno mii costume (with a Smash X Super Mario RPG).

The fourth will be a “Smash X Chrono Trigger” with a Chrono mii costume. He is a popular request, so fits the last criteria. Moreover, Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG and Final Fantasy VII are three square RPGs that were released very near, between 1995 to 1997, so this Mii costume wave is to appeal people who liked mid/late 90’s JRPGs.

EDIT: And in case the rule “a square character only comes with square content” can be broken, I can see the assist trophy promotion being Aluccard (Smash X Castlevania SOTN splash screen) as his game, SOTN, was released in 1997, same year as FFVII (in the same console, the PS1...) and they have some physical similarities, like the long white/silver hair.

In addition, the “popular” request splash screen will be Geno but with a new mii costume, so it doesn’t count as a smash 4 returning

In summary, here are the two possibilities:

One
1) Tifa (Final Fantasy VII)
2) Chocobo (Final Fantasy)
3) Geno (Super Mario RPG)
4) Chrono (Chrono Trigger)

Two
1) Tifa (Final Fantasy VII)
2) Chocobo (Final Fantasy)
3) Aluccard (Castlevania SOTN)
4) Geno (Super Mario RPG)

I wouldn't be surprised if we got one right. And I would be even less surprised if that one was Crash.

But it'd be ironic if it happened at a time where people stop thinking of him :p

By then, everyone will be soo hyper focused on Monster Hunter.

That'll be rather hard to do. Even though Sephiroth is proving that Sakurai wants to work himself to the bone, people will still expect a character that'll inevitably be simple.

That's a Very Good Question. I'm glad you asked because I've thought of that as well

Perhaps one of the characters DLC Tournament might actually be based of them originating from the 2010's. This For example would be a Good tourney for a Character like Monokuma or Freddy, Since Alot of their aspects might not be shared that much among the other Cast of Characters

They both are Both Killer Bears that bring Dread and Despair among their foes. Banjo is the Only Bear on the Roster, and he does not bring Despair among people. it be hard to come up with a tournament based of the Hypothetical Gameplay elements or Personalities, unless you want to do another Villains tournament.

The only other thing I can come up with Besides them being from the 2010's is maybe Mascot Characters, or Animal Based characters. yes

People have also mentioned that you gotta take in account the circumstances Nintendo was in when Cloud was revealed, what with the Wii U being a big failure and them hemorrhaging money to the point where Iwata took a pay cut.

Meanwhile, the Switch is sellin' like hotcakes, and Nintendo's definitely got a lot more money to play around with when it comes to licensing this time.

Okay, so my completely off the wall Mii costume prediction list:

  • Tifa
  • Chocobo Hat
  • Geno
  • Warrior of Light (my personal darkhorse since the Erdrick Mii Armor is one of the really forgotten ones it seems)
  • Lightning OR Noctis (because of course)
  • Terra OR Kefka

I feel that this is either going to be almost completely wrong, or (somehow) 100 % on the money. No middle ground FTW.

Maybe it's just because those tournaments don't matter when it comes to predicting characters?

They just do them with whatever they have in the roster, one decade at a time?

They both are Both Killer Bears that bring Dread and Despair among their foes.
Freddy doesn't do that. He's a vengeful spirit who mistake the security guard for his killer.

....or at least I think it's that. FNAF lore is getting too confusing for me, but I'm pretty sure Freddy isn't genuinely malevolent.

True, that's part of why I'm starting to doubt Monster Hunter being CP9. It seems so perfect as a reveal timing wise that something is nudging me in the inside telling me it's not it. **** man it's not just Monster Hunter, I've been doubting Capcom as a whole as being part of pass 2. Everyone has been saying they're a shoe in since DLC was first announced yet we still haven't gotten a single fighter. Same goes to Namco. I'm starting to think we'll go through all of pass 2 without a single Namco or Capcom fighter as DLC.

As like the one Granblue stan here, I seriously doubt we'll see anything Cygames related in Smash, be it Spirit or Mii. Hell, Granblue Project Re:Link is confirmed to be PS4/PS5 exclusive as of last night.
I'm not really sure that would be an issue considering Joker and Banjo & Kazooie come from games that are exclusive to other consoles as well. And Switch users do have the option of looking at Granblue Fantasy Versus in order to get a feel for whoever gets in from the game.

I wouldn't say it's incredibly likely, but I don't really see anything that would make it unlikely either.

There are some Reasons for Apex over Fortnite

-Main Reason is EA. Pretty much trying to get a Closer connection to EA to get them to take the Switch more Seriously. EA Games sell like Hotcakes, so getting them as a Main partner is Advantageous for Nintendo. there's also a Link between Nintendo and EA in Doug Bowser

-Pretty much Apex in Smash would benefit EA becauae it brings more attention towards Apex and Respawn and such like that. On Nintendo's Side, they get a Relation boost with EA, and they also Appeal to the Battle Royale/Hardcore Shooter Crowd as well

-Remember that this EA was/is Delivering 7 Games to Switch, or was suppose to Anyway

-The Characters in Apex have more define abilities and Personalities that's More Similiar to Overwatch than something like Fortnite.

-Apex is Kind of Spinned off Titanfall, which, while not at the moment not alive, is kind of beloved game Series
I guess those make sense. With the idea of strengthening ties with EA though, you do have to consider that Apex Legends would be competing with some pretty hefty IPs, like Mass Effect, Dead Space, Plants Vs. Zombies (I think), and The Sims. I'm not sure what exactly would be picked, and it might boil down to what EA wants (if Nintendo would let them pick as a tie strengthener), but I'm pretty confident in saying that the competition is fierce.

I suppose that doesn't make the game less likely to happen though. Just less clear.

Anyone feel like Sephiroth will only bring 2 tracks similar to Cloud ?
One Winged Angel and J-E-N-O-V-A.
I really don't think they'd go lower than 7, but I suppose it's a possibility since they seem to want to avoid dealing with multiple composers, and Final Fantasy has a bunch of different composers.

Freddy isn't I Believe, However from the Security Guard's Perspective, Freddy does the same type of thing that Monokuma does

Though unlike Freddy, Monokuma seems to relish in the Despair among his victims. I don't know that much about the Danganronpa lore, so feel free to correct me. You're right that Freddy, along with other Animatronics like Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy wanted revenge

Anyway yes I will use those Tournaments to Predict those characters. I mean for example, From the No Projectiles tournament being out of Order and before CP7, we knew CP7 would have a Projectile. Steve has a Projectile in Minecart. However I'm ready to get blown in the Face if it turns out My stretching and Tournament Theory crafting is bunk. yes

And here's where the problem lies.

You believe everything is connected to something.

But the way I see it, only tournaments that are outright skipped and done out of order actually mean something.

Then I'll think of it as a different way.

Cygames absolutely has plans to expand more into the English market, due to things like Re:Link, Versus, and plenty of their other IPs like Shadowverse and Dragalia, but as for Granblue itself? Well, the game is, for all intents and purposes, strictly JP only. Yes, there is an English version(Though still hosted in Japan), but they have no desire to really market it in the western world to avoid gacha laws.

Granblue is a very weird spot, where it's very rapidly expanding at an extreme rate and is only getting bigger with time, arguably being one of Cygames largest IPs, if not the largest by this point, but I really just can't ever see it crossing over into Smash.

And I get that. And no, I don't believe everything is Connected to Something. I try to look more logically into it

But I think the Absences of this 2010's Tournament might be something. I Looked into it and that's the conclusion I came up too. Now if it Proves right, It would be an Amazing Feeling.

Kind of like My Estelleroth theory, though while it did Call Sephiroth, I can't really feel like I was proven Right because Sephiroth, While I thought he was an option, wasn't a Character I was activily Predicting at the moment, and we don't know if Estelle is a Mii Costume in his wave

The Two Things I want out of this Fighter Pass, is

1. Shadow the Hedgehog
2. Finally being able to get a Character Right, that I'm Actively Predicting

Or maybe it's because it's next?

We started with 80s, then 90s, then 2000s, in that order.

Give it some time before thinking something's wrong because clearly it's the next one if they ever decide to do a decade-based tournament.

As mentioned elsewhere, though it probably means nothing

Neither Sakurai nor the Smash account made mention that there wouldn't be another fighter shown off in Sephiroth's presentation:

There was a problem fetching the tweet

I feel like this is just a mistake and means nothing, but go absolutely crazy if you wish.

We most definitely are not getting another reveal. They probably didn't feel the need to add that notice since it should be standard knowledge by now.

Honestly I feel like WB Games will have a character in Smash. They are one of the biggest supporters of the Switch and they do love to crosspromote. I think Scorpion or Maxwell could make it in. Or hell even Chase McCain, his game was a WiiU exclusive after all.

I do think we will see one of those three, and I hope it's scorpion

Okay possible series rep that's very darkhorse.

What about an Azur Lane rep? It's a Chinese mobile game that's really popular in Japan, got its own anime and eventually released in the US in open beta, before releasing in Latin America. It's more popular than stuff like Granblue Fantasy and Dragalia Lost in Japan, which is why I want to discuss it.

Those aren’t KH-related, though And they‘re really not that protective of KH specifically (otherwise all the terrible official merch wouldn’t exist).

To add onto this, the Marionette's line "the other's are like animals, but I am very aware" implies that the FNaF 1 & 2 animatronics are in a blind rage, or just scared and retaliate against everyone.

So, malicious, but not necessarily evil.

Huh...Wii Fit Trainer still has the shortest CG Smash reveal. Not only that but she's still the only Smash character so far to have their splash screen AFTER the majority of the trailer.

I Know, But this stretch between these type of Tournaments is the longest currently. Plus since we got Both Min-Min and Steve (Steve is classified by the Java release in 2011), I thought we would have gotten it now if we were done, but it hasn't happen yet. that's why I'm curious about this

Depends. About how much interaction has the parent company had with Nintendo? If it's distant, it might be a bit of a roadblock.

Though, if you have a cool concept in mind regardless of likelihood, by all means pitch it. That's gonna help get people on board.
