If we got another 'generic enemy' character, who would you want it to be?

Shy Guy. Easily one of my top picks.

Although someone mentioned a Lynel, which is tempting as their Breath of the Wild version is pretty frickin' awesome. As for some other generic enemies, a Kirby enemy would be cool. I mean, aside from Waddle Dee(and Bandana Waddle Dee), some other cool enemies would be Poppy Bros Jr. and Gim. And one of the Metroid species' forms could be cool too. The Zeta Metroid is decently sized and it even serves as a part-quadrupedal character.

Edit: Although this talk of generic enemies really makes me wish for Smash Run or regular enemies to come back as enemies in Spirit Battles.

As cool as Hsien-Ko would be, if we're to get a Darkstalkers character it'll be Morrigan. Don't get me wrong though I'd be down for her with her seemingly limitless weapons as well as those huge claws. A lot of moveset potential there. Plus she's a jiangshi, basically kung-fu zombies.

There's a Question I got to Ask

If Isaac Was just a Spirit just like Geno, and didn't have his Assist Come back (or get a Base Game Mii Costume), Would he be as Popular as Geno in Speculation (or even more)?

I mean, the Isaac thread seems pretty convinced that Golden Sun is coming back. Though at this point, I find Camelot's lack of activity somewhat worrying...

Why does Camelot's inactivity have to result in Golden Sun? Don't they make Mario Golf? Other Nintendo subsidaries like Retro did absolutely nothing for a while, who's to say Camelot isn't doing the same?

If their next game is Golden Sun Remake (And I kind of believe it too, some of the evidence towards it seems to add up), I'd Imagine it might be announced close to when the game will come out. That's what's been happening with Nintendo games recently anyway (hell with the Smash DLC, that's also what's happening)

There's a Question I got to Ask

I think Geno would be more frequently requested for the majority of the first pass but Isaac would've shot up with Byleth and especially Min Min. At this point in time I think Isaac would be even with Geno in terms of fan requests just as was in base, at times succeeding Geno's popularity.

This just makes me worry about the day when I start a heated discussion on the boards myself; this is probably how I'd react.

But yeah, arguing angrily and baselessly about characters is stupid, whether they're in or not. Two words can easily remedy that; BE CIVIL.

Incineroar charmed the pants off me the first time I saw him. That's saying a lot since he hard deconfirmed the Grinch leak. A lot of love went into him, so it's a shame I see him get so much hate.

I think it's fitting due to being a Heel wrestler.

I think Revenge works best with the concept of a heel. Bait people into hitting you, get stronger, body them.

That mist could've been a taunt, imo. Because what better way to fully emphasize that every move he lands is a taunt than by making one of his actual taunts an attack?

Still, a shame because I'd definitely be welcoming of her inclusion but at the same time I'm all for Morrigan too even if her chances don't seem too likely given competition with Dante, Phoenix Wright, and Monster Hunter.

If Morrigan gets in, then that means Nintendo would've actively been looking for an obscure Capcom IP, and when it comes to obscure Capcom IPs, Darkstalkers is absolutely the most well-known, so Morrigan is pretty much the frontrunner for this very specific category.

Wish that wasn't the case. I love the premise, concept, and setting of it given my love for mythology and cryptids (Given Sasquatch, and also what I think the series should expand on if there is ever a Darkstalkers 4). Really hope it returns one day, hell I'd settle for even a remaster bundle of the first three games.

If Mario Golf was coming out soon, I'm pretty sure the 35th anniversary direct would've told us. I don't think a golf game would take so long to make, seeing as this is Camelot's longest period of inactivity to date.

Still, I wouldn't be nearly as hopeful if it weren't for the fact that a new, NON-RENEWAL trademark was filed in 2018, and was finally passed this March after being turned down twice. If it were just a re-release for a Virtual Console or NSO GBA emulator or whatever, it would still use the original trademark, since it's the same product. This heavily implies that something new is being done with Golden Sun, be it a remake or a fourth installment.

There's a bunch of little extra tidbits that the Isaac thread can fill you in on, but the trademark is the big thing for me.

They already have their hands full with SFV Season V and Street Fighter 6.

Slapping Dante onto it gives off the feeling that the IP can't sell on its own and needs wacky woohoo pizza man to have a shot.

The problem is that aside from its setting and characters, Darkstalkers really has nothing to stand out from Street Fighter since the latter pretty much stole every innovation Darkstalkers did since as EX moves or normal cancelling using the L->M->H sequence

Oh well then, at least it lives on in spirit in the Marvel vs. Capcom games with Morrigan aka Ms. Capcom, and Capcom's Captain Falcon.

Darkstalkers was good though. Unique setting and characters, many innovations to the fighting genre that became industry standards, still a beloved cult classic to this day that never skips a single crossover game, some pretty good music and decent lore too...

I'll say it again. If Darkstalkers ever makes a return and gets the success it deserves, one thing it needs is having more cryptid-based characters as a means of expanding its lore. After all, it already does have Sasquatch.

.......Cryptid characters is literally what Darkstalkers is all about. It'd be weirder if the newcomers weren't cryptids.

With that said, B.B. Hood is probably one of my favorite characters from the franchise despite being human.

No more like ones such as the Chupacabra, Dover Demon, Goatman, Jersey Devil, Lizard Man of Scape Ore Swamp, Yowie, etc.

There is a cryptid, granted it's one of the more obscure ones which is called the Gator Man. I'd certainly love a character based on that one.

I think if Darkstalkers were to return, they should use the franchise as some sort of Experimentation game to test New Mechanics that might be risky to do with More Established franchises like Street Fighter and MVC

I'm gonna guess that Characters are revealed according to when Nintendo wants them to be revealed, so even if Sakurai and the Team finish a Character, they might not come out for Reveal till weeks or even months later? Could Nintendo be saving character(s) to be revealed with game(s), or not reveal, at least close to a Games release?
