I find it really laughable that people still believe in CacoMallow despite it has been years ago. The best part of all is by countering by comparing it to the Ken leak.

If it were real why would Nintendo withhold it for so long? It would have been revealed and released by now.
I know we’re desperate for rumors and stuff but... maybe don’t visit the Geno thread for a while. Some people will hold on to their beliefs that that mod leak is real and won’t change their minds

maybe marathon an anime or play another game or something

View attachment 291762Who are characters that you guys want to see in Smash but are rather unpopular in the roster support community? I don't mean "less popular" (such as Arvis or Intelleon) or someone who also has/would bring a lot of hate (Euden or Geno); rather I mean someone who is rarely seen, if at all (even jokingly). (Not that I want these characters, but I think a few examples are Hyde Kido from Under Night In-Birth, Crypto 137/138 from Destroy All Humans!, and Rick Taylor from Splatterhouse. (....or at least I don't see characters like these that often.))

Just Raz (Psychonauts) and Crow (Persona 5). Maybe I'll throw Gooigi (Luigi's Mansion 3), as a Luigi clone, in there too. That's all.
Zangief obviously

I've always been partial to Dota (2), owing to the fact that I was heavily into WarCraft III's Custom Map lobbies at the time Dota was created (the lobbies are where Dota was intially nutured / spread) and I transitioned to Dota 2 very early on in its life (2011-12). Dota 2's got several mechanics or spells that could transition really well into Smash - such as upgrading specials mid-match.

I know I'm not the only one here who likes it, I've just not been confident about making a support thread for it because it might as well be obscure in these corners.

Honestly I was shocked to see that RH didn't have a assist trophy in Ultimate. With the low number of newcomers, I totally get why there's no playable representation. But I think it would have been cool to see Wrestler + Reporter as an assist. It's a bit sad considering that franchise like Art academy and Joy mech fight could get an assist but not RH.
It's kinda weird: because if there's any place where the Donkey Konga Final Smash could've been repurposed it's with a RH AT. I'm not confident that timing and rhythm would work perfectly in playable form due to parries possibly messing up the rhythm, but it's worth at least exploring.

With today's release of the special Mario edition Game & Watch, Game & Watch is one of the most relevant franchises in Smash.

Let that sink in.
SMH can't believe :ultgnw: is the new shill pick.

I mean, all of his moves are literally from Game and Watch games and he's got the safest Up-B in the game, how more shill-y can you get? :4pacman:

Rumors and leaks aren't worth it anymore.

Unless you're really hungry for new information, then you're better off just ignoring them, honestly. Only reason to pay the vast majority of them any mind is to determine whether they're disprovable or not, and even then, most fake leaks are incredibly poorly conveiced and obviously fake anyway. :p

So, potentially new topic- or at least one I haven't really seen.

I know some have suggested a Ring Fit Trainer for a character- but I honestly think that players of the game, as well as people who would potentially be exposed and buy it, would find that dull (also, the Ring Con can be a very annoying character).

However, there is a character that I think would hype Ring Fit Adventure, as well as be fun in Smash- I'm referring to the bro dragon himself (Brogan?), Dragaux.
The game, RFA, has outsold even Animal Crossing in some regions during certain months, and it's become a game heavily associated with the Switch platform, particularly with the Blue Ocean (untapped) market.
Dragaux himself, even for those who don't like the trainer, would be a marketable character- a dragon with muscles who taunts you.

While I don't think this is a likely character, I do think this would be the way to go if RFA were to get a character (not to mention, another Switch era game would be given a nod).

And Lara Croft as people keeps talking about Geno, Sora, and Neku.
Lara Croft is mentioned frequently enough. I posted a concept idea for a survival-style game, based on a lot of internet research and with the help of some movesets I've seen online.
I can go back and quote myself if it helps- there are definitely ways to make her unique without making her overly flashy.

LARA CROFT

Style: ACTION SURVIVAL

Standard Special: Dual Pistols. Lara holds B and rapidly fires her pistols. Once she hits a target, it locks on. When locked onto a target, she cannot Shield or Dodge without releasing B. However, if she does use the Sheild button, this gives her the ability to lock onto a second target if near first target, and each of the two targets gets hit at half speed (as they each only have one pistol locked on). Lara has full mobility while shooting.

Side Special: Bow and Arrow. Lara can press the combination multiple times to switch arrow types, indicated by a meter on the bottom. The options are
  • Standard Arrow (slightly faster than others)
  • Fire Arrow (slightly more damage)
  • Poison Arrow (Damage that lngers)
  • Explosive Arrow (Slightly More Radius of Damage
  • Piercing Arrow (can go through opponent and hit multiple)

Up Special: Skilled Climber. Lara throws out a grappling hook. It is longer than the average tether grab, and Is able to be aimed. If it lands, Lara climbs up the rope, and then can continue to climb up the stage by another half of the rope’s length.

Down Special: Endure. Lara Croft is known to survive, and this move helps her in multiple ways. For several frames once pressed, Lara will enter an invincible mode. This will mean she can survive a couple of hits without taking damage or knockback, break a counter used on her, move through rapid fire attacks. It is also used passively to help her survive for slighter longer when swimming, and passively keeps her from taking damage or effect from stage hazards.

OTHER: Lara can wall cling and jump, her crouch is very low and can easily be used with the other attacks.

FINAL SMASH: Entombment! Trap another player, or several other players, with animations in a cut scene that reference some of the more fun mythical items she collects.

I still want Ray 01 or RayMKIII from Custom Robo for a character. Custom Robo on Gamecube and Custom Robo Arena were fun as heck.

So it came as cool when Ray MKIII got a Mii costume.

That’d be pretty cool but I doubt it’ll happen due to Sakurai’s preference for adding the protagonist before anyone else. A Ring Fit character in general would be a fun pick though!

Isn't Dota just a mod? I assume it's official (maybe I'm wrong, and please correct me if so), but a mod getting a character would be very odd to me.

As for Donkey Kong... what happened to that guitar AT? I thought it came back, but I havn't actually seen it so I could be incorrect.

The Original DOTA was a mod for Warcraft III, Valve bought the rights to it and hired the developer they proceeded turned it into it's own IP with it's own characters and assets and that game is DOTA 2.

Eh, I think he chooses what's unique and associated with the game. We have many instances where a mascot or prominent character gets chosen first, and Dragaux, to anyone who played the game, is the most memorable character from it, while also being completely original. I truly cannot imagine getting RFT, but I can imagine Dragaux. Ring Fit Adventure is really not like any other game, so I don't think it makes much sense to compare. The closest would be Wii Fit, of course, and even that only had the one character.

If we got a Soul Calibur character, I cannot imagine it would be anyone other than Nightmare. If the antagonist is the star of the show, I don't see why a fanmade rule would get in the way. It hasn't before.

Perspective hits, suddenly. I'll check in on this thread for more updates. Sometimes the nonsense we perpetuate here becomes even less important. I love gaming because it taught me to interact with people. That's much more important than anything that comes to mind which I've discussed on here.

I think the Ring Fit Adventurer would be an incredibly fun character, and aside from flying and throwing crates there isn't much Dragaux can do that the main character can't. All of the supporters I've seen are players of RFA, so I don't know where you're getting those impressions from.

From the dozens of comments I've read that say 'Ring Fit Trainer would just be like WFT.'
While that doesn't make sense from a moveset perspective, I do give credence to the fact that this would absolutely be the impression.
Meanwhile, I have seen people suggest the RF Trainer, but I don't believe I have actually seen anyone come out and say they want that character.

If I were to make a moveset Dragaux, it would likely involve all the side enemy powers. I won't pretend I remember all their names, but there are the healing mats, the kicking squat frogs, the head charging. I don't think it's a stretch for him to borrow the moves from these other characters. I don't think it would even be a stretch to see moves used in the minigames. Ultimately it comes down to what is more interesting, and I'd be hard pressed to think a trainer with a pilates ring is more interesting to a majority than a big-ass dragon.

Also, Dragaux just... brawls, a lot of the time. He attacks with his arms and his head.

I don't see this character getting in, but I do think that if we got a Ring Fit character, this is the one that is the clear standout to an outsider. The Ring Fit Trainer doesn't do all that much more than Dragaux- he just floats, and sucks in air. Which isn't damaging.

Disagree if you'd like, but that really wasn't the point of my initial post.

I live near Montreal and I have a family member that work there (although he wasn't there today). From what I read everyone is safe, hopefully that is the case.

Why not? Mitsurugi and Kilik for example are both valid choices as they are also mascots for Soul Calibur.
They are recurring characters, but Nightmare is definitely the mascot, as shown by the Soul Calibur team's logo.

That aside, Kilik could be interesting due to using a pole weapon. Mitsurugi, however, would hardly bring anything really new.

So you haven't actually seen the impressions of people who play RFA. Because the people who played the game and support its character are not the same people who say they would play exactly like Wii Fit Trainer.

Not to mention that's an opinion so superficial it would die the moment the character were to be revealed, because the characters are just that different.
If I were to make a moveset Dragaux, it would likely involve all the side enemy powers. I won't pretend I remember all their names, but there are the healing mats, the kicking squat frogs, the head charging. So, you would have Dragaux doing generic kicks and punches? Because that's all the baddies do really, except for the ones with unique body shapes - like the mat - that Dragaux couldn't imitate. Or did you mean randomly summoning mooks? I don't think either of those are very unique, especially when compared to RFA's mechanics of summoning multiple giant glowing fists, abs and feet to attack.

And, uh, agree to disagree on a big dragon being more interesting. We already have several big dragons in the Smash roster, not to mention it's a very common trope. How many fighting games, or games in general, star a trainer with a pilates ring? That stands out more, it's wackier and more inventive.

Eh not really, You could sort of make the argument for Mitsurugi but It isn't like Arms where there is not story (for the most part) there is a clear story and Nightmare (More specifically the Soul Edge) is the central character of that franchise. (I could also see Siegfried being a costume if we want to go there)

Erm. How many fighting games, or games in general, star buff body building dragons that are the embodiment of toxicity at the gym?

I don't think he's the best representative for the series or nuthin' (I don't actually have an opinion there), but he's not exactly a common idea either.

Conker would also come with spirits of all the key Conker characters. For example let's say a Tediz Soldier is a spirit.

Fighter: Dark brown Fox team (10 dark brown Foxes).
Stage: Shadow Moses Island.
Type: Attack based primary spirit.
Class: Ace.
Support spirit slots: 2.
Music: Enter the Vertex.
Conditions:
  • Defeat all fighters to win.
  • Shooter and explosive related items constantly appear.

The Spirit battle ideas thread might be a better place for this :)

This is so horrible, the Ubisoft hostage thing. I hope everyone gets out okay, and the bad guys pay.
It's apparently a prank/hoax.

Is it alright if I blame this on 2020 being 2020? Because HOO BOY, it feels like this year decided to stop holding back its punches...
