While you guys are discussing Xenoblade, I wanted to bring up an observation I made the other day. Apologies if someone had already brought this up at some point but it's pretty interesting to me.

When Steve came out I had noticed that the in-game newsletter graphic showcased the Ancient Armor alongside the current characters. Immediately this made me think about Rex - originally I assumed his costume didn't matter and that Nintendo would do whatever they wanted with him, but this got me thinking about how maybe Rex is a more significant part of FP1 than I gave him credit for.

So as you can see, FP1's graphic also showcases Rex. I'm not trying to say this is the be all end all for Rex's chances, but it's making me consider how Nintendo may see this costume as a bigger deal than we do. The fact that they deem it significant enough to promote as a selling point alongside the main attractions has me second-guessing my original opinion that the costume doesn't matter. I still don't think this would be a major obstacle if Nintendo did want to add Rex after all, but it's just interesting to take note of and may imply that this costume means more to them than I initially anticipated.

I do not see these two sharing a Pass in all honesty. I feel XC2's Time in the Spotlight has faded out. At least ARMS was a Multiplayer Game that could gain interest into reviving. XC2 meanwhile seems redundant when a far better, more recent option like Dragalia's Dragon Mechanics seem far more likely for Smash? I hope to be wrong, since Xenoblade should get a Second Fighter, but I don't think it's happening in the same pass as Dragalia I just don't see it.

Yeah of course not, I just think it's worth taking note of since I had originally written it off as a 'bonus" incentive to get people to buy the pass early. The fact that they wanted to use it as a selling point well into FP1's lifespan just made me reconsider that and feel as if I had been downplaying it a bit, and thinking about whether or not Nintendo sees that as sufficient representation for Rex.

I think people are grossly overstating how old XC2 but that aside I still don't see why Dragalia Lost is a better option.

It's not available in all regions and it doesn't have any notable fan support compared to how demanded Rex is.

Since EA does not hold a gambling license in the region, it is accused of operating "an unlicensed, illegal gaming system through their loot boxes."

The lawsuit is filed on behalf of Moore, Sutherland and any other Canadian customers who purchased, directly or indirectly, loot boxes in almost every EA game that contains loot boxes.

There is a list of over 60 titles that stretches beyond the usual suspects of FIFA, Madden and other sports franchises to include Battlefield, Mass Effect, Need for Speed, Dragon Age and Plants vs Zombies games as well.

If this leak is fake, then the guy who made it has to be the craziest person in the world going out of their way to make incredibly boring cardboard cut-out models using promotional material from the upcoming Grinch movie because he's thinking 47 steps ahead and knows that both Bandai-Namco and Universal studios contract the same obscure French marketing company. To this end, he then got himself an office, printed out the name of an employee of said company, and haphazardly half blurred out the name because, once again, he's some kind of super genius beyond the mental capacities of mortal man and he knew that the internet's crack team of cybersleuths would find his red-herring name in seconds.

This absolute Einstein of social engineering also happens to moonlight as an expert artist and after presumably spending hours carefully cutting and pasting characters from the Smash poster, he then went out of his way to produce 7 more drawings of his own with obscure elements like vines for Isaac that hardly anyone would be able to make out, and then, for the fun of it, he saw to making a completely unique drawing of the blank version of Battlefield just because he could. He made sure that this fake roster of his perfectly mirrored one posted on 4chan last month by someone whose first language clearly isn't English because he knew that people would immediately make the connection to the French marketing company that he is pretending produced this image. The fact that 5 new characters lines up with the 5 missing stages from Corocoro was all part of his master plan. He also made sure this coincided with Nintendo renewing relevant trademarks.

The lengths you have to go to believe that this is all an incredibly elaborate leak would make this man one of the most intelligent people to ever walk the Earth. This guy would be more competent than the entire government of Saudi Arabia when it comes to fakery.

I suggest you think about which outcome is more likely.

Apex Legends doesn't have a story mode & normal RPG dungeons. I find it hard to believe that you couldn't use the existing story & gameplay of the dungeons and mold it into an experience that doesn't require microtransactions. You might have to flesh out the level design of the dungeons, but I don't think that's the same as them being unworkable. And if the whole steady stream of content angle would cause issues like not really having a good stopping point to end on, then they could try turning it into a game as a service where more keeps getting added as DLC.

Granted, it would be a lot of work, probably more than they'd be willing to do, but I highly doubt it's impossible.

I'd get one of my most wanted being Rex, but I wouldn't get my two other most wanted characters which are Dante and Geno. Crash would probably be one of the best choices to include though in general. I'd say an 8/10.

Honestly, I'd be kinda disappointed by the lack of left-fielders. Just one or two would be good. I know there's a reason why we talk about these guys so much, and I'm fine with them as a character, but I prefer a mix of expected and unexpected characters. If we just got what we're always talking about, it would feel kinda stale.

Most people say Rex for the same reason why people say Rosalina: Rex & Pyra/Mythra and Rosalina & Luma are a lot to type.
