The Chosen Undead is barely a character to begin with. If they wanna really wow me, I say go with a popular boss character like Artorias or SoC.

I think he's an okay character and I wouldn't mind him. Personally I don't think a Namco character is going to show up and even if one does, I'd prefer it to be Klonoa because in a way, he's like Pac-Man's Luigi.

Also, I do agree that we MIGHT see Lloyd's costume come back. I don't know, seeing Heihachi's come back makes me suspicious of all of them...

I think so, yes. It's just that Pikachu has a lot more moves where he low-profiles / pancakes (B-Air, F-Air for example) and the landing lag thing.



SC6 Nightmare... mayyyybe?

Beyond the Bamco thing (which makes any Bandai-Namco pick hard to judge because they've developed 2 Smash games and yet only have Pac-Man as playable) there's also the competition within the company and how Nightmare's fighting style would translate.

TBF, he's not impossible and got some things going for him like already having fought the Hero of Time, so Nightmare at least feels like a proper Dark Horse IMHO.

So proper he can summon one

Idk, I think other Assist Trophies promotions are more likely, as are other Kirby characters.

If Lloyd does manage to be a costume again, I'm gonna be straight up honest but feel we won't get a Namco rep given we didn't even get one not just the first season pass but even the Base game as well.

Lloyd or no Namco rep, that's what I'm personally feeling.

Nightmare feels like hes just been around for so long and has stayed relevant for years. Its hard to say lloyd means much to people outside smash speculation nowadays and klonoa...yeah

when it comes to bamco i thought nightmare wouldnt get in literally cause i assumed wed get heiheichi or a tekken char but with tekken basically gone now from smash due to the mii costume i think nightmares chances have risen really hard. Especially with soul calibur 6 coming out not TOO long ago and still going well

She definitely has what it takes, and then some.

However not for this DLC sadly. She'll either be in the next Smash game, or through some mighty marvelous miracle the next wave of DLC.

No but he has been a very long-time fan requested character at least since the Melee days. Also, Sakurai made some statement saying "Who else but Lloyd" if Tales were to get a character.

I don't recall Heihachi being a long-time fan request, I'm certain he had demand prior to his deconfirmation but wasn't one of those long time requests.

As said, if we're gonna get any Namco rep it's him or we don't get one.

Being a long requested char doesnt mean youre going to be picked tho. Weve seen this happen over and over with skull kid, isaac, shadow, ashley, etc
so using a char "as popular pick by smash fans" isnt the strongest argument most the time

The most likely Namco series is a Dark Souls character and the fact that people often overlook one of the worlds most popular games for characters that they have a personal affinity for is a textbook example of some of the Smash Fanbases tunnel vision to names oft brought up in the Smash bubble.

I feel like there's too much of a tendency to bring up characters as a counter argument regardless of context. Like, sure these characters are proof that avatars and whatnot are eligible, but their existence doesn't make people like characters like them.

Nope.

Most of my top picks are from the NES. But I like plenty of stuff from later gens.

Because some of those "wasted slots" are for characters exclusive to that era.

Being from that era doesn't automatically make you a good choice. Characters from games that actually started franchises that have real legacies are good choices.

Characters from mediocre to bad Nintendo games from 30 years ago that never saw a 2nd game never deserved to rise above the level of Assist Trophy.

Honestly, I feel Dark Souls rep has a more likely shot in getting in if Namco even gets anything whether that or Lloyd. People really overlook that franchise chances.

There's also the fact they didn't get one in Base game. If they didn't get one in either of those, I just don't see how likely it is to get one in this pass. I'm not saying its impossible but its looking like there won't be a Namco rep.

I think she may have missed her chance, but she's not impossible.

I don't think Tetra is particularly likely either, but I'd deem her at least slightly more likely than Impa is.

One could say the same with you and Nightmare that you're saying about people with Lloyd. You can't really blame people for looking at things top down, and Lloyd and Tales are more popular, and from a bigger series.

I agree a lot of people shouldn't be overlooking Dark Souls, which is even bigger and more popular than Tales, though it lacks a largely demanded character. But the point is, if you're going to take from sort of the middle, maybe middle-high, and declare that character as very likely, you can't really be surprised when people think a character and series from more towards the top are seen as likelier.

Klonoa doesn't have any reasonable shot.

His franchise went the way of Chibi-Robo and Custom Robo. Not financially successful enough to survive and not popular enough as a character to be referenced.
