Official Newcomer/DLC Speculation Discussion

So, gonna make a prediction:


We're not going to get an announcement today for a presentation next week.


Meaning that next week's gonna devolve into a bloody war of people going nuts waiting for a trailer, and the longer the week goes without a drop, the more and more people are going to kill each other fighting over the 7-11 ad.

So... business as usual?

Animal Crossing is a big red flag that only a couple people have brought up.


If Nintendo really is sticking to their "1 big drop per week", then Animal Crossing is very much in the running to get its October patch shown off soon, it kinda has to since next month's Halloween, and the game didn't launch with any of the Holidays in it, meaning that it'll need to be patched in.


Now, will that trailer drop next week, pushing Smash to the first full week of October, or will Smash come next week and Animal Crossing after it?


I'd like to believe it's the latter, but Animal Crossing is time-sensitive, it can't wait a long time to have its update.

At this rate, I really don't know about the entirety of their DLC cycle anymore, A lot of people have probably jumped off the hype train and are probably just going on with their lives or other games that get more updates.

Granted, it's just the pandemic but damn, usually by this time they could've revealed the next fighter if they could.

You'll have people trying to claim that Nintendo's "trolling" the Smash fans


If next week goes by and Animal Crossing/Pokemon take the spot, just wait for those high horses to ride into town.

I would argue Smash is still strong, but it will age out just like Smash 4 did. I think its low point will take longer, because Ultimate is a HUGE game compared to Smash 4.

It's pretty obvious why they haven't shown the DLC yet, mainly that they're focusing on getting info on their actual new games out first.

I'd love them to just drop Smash tomorrow, but their M/O makes perfect sense. They want to get their E3 dump out, and DLC is just that, DLC, it can wait until everything else is finished being revealed.

Shadowdroppings are a thing now and very common, something impossible to track, the usual time lapses blowed up, Nintendo recent politics are weird at best and the pandemic is a factor of chaos. And speculation is without gasoline: no leaks, no insiders, no theories, nothing for a solid take. Just empty dreams and desires without a strong base.
We'll continue this way till an announcement. But even then , once it releases, we'll be like now again cause we can't imagine how the things will come since everything is possible.

bickering about Gacha luck aside

I may have gotten Skadi on both accounts, but the 18 rolls I did for Skadi on my main account were frickin' gut-wrenching, with only Four 4-Star Servants, only 1 of which was new. And I didn't get her on any of those rolls. I got her on my 5th Summon Ticket after those rolls. But good lord, it really shows why I hate CEs with a burning passion. I just did not feel good at all after getting Skadi.
Meanwhile, it was like four or five rolls for my secondary account to get Skadi, which was enough to get Saber Alter Rider from the 2nd Summer Banner when it came out. And it has had luck all-year round. Not counting GSSRs, whereas my main account's first SSR of the year was Skadi, my secondary account got MHX, Saber Artoria, Skadi, 2 Orions and Maid Alter. Not to mention that when the 2nd GSSR Banner came, my secondary account got both Amakusa Shirou AND Edmond Dantes whereas my main account got Medb, who was new, but I already had Quetzalcoatl for a Single Target Buster Rider.
So it was nothing short of a miracle when the Gacha took pity on my main account after what happened with Skadi as well as a 2nd Caster Nero instead of Nitocris by giving me Summer Jeanne on the first Summon Ticket. It was such a relieving feeling.

Haha sorry, didn't mean to flaunt the gatcha luck. there are some I still really want that I never got, like Quezt, Shuten, and Squritora. Hopeing to grab Quetz at least this christmas. My first GSSR gave me Gramps, and while he is cool I was looking for Shuten. This years GSSR at least gave me Sanzang.

If I didn't have a JP account I would just use this one. Its just I invested too much in JP to just stop playing it. I have been rolling only with my free gems and tickets though since Google play stopped allowing US play cards to buy stuff from JP apps. I use Playcards to keep my budget in check, so I always know how much I spend.

We should add each other in the game, if you don't mind.

As a European I can't even play this game. Or is it because I live in Germany? Either way the game is not available where I live and I would really hate if this game gets a playable character in Smash.

Also about Bandana Dee:

I don't want to live in a world where Bandana Dee is playable but Dixie is not. Thats just me though.

I think many gatcha games are banned in many parts of europe due to those new anti gambling laws.

Except there needs to be news soon because they need to talk about a Fall patch with Halloween.

And they always consistently throw these patches around the beginning of the month. October 1st is next Thursday.

We're getting news for it next week. I'm 100% sure on it.

Its possible. Dragalia lost or Granblue are the front runners. Fate also has a gatcha and Artoria has a shot but i consider that series still a LN from its routes

Yeah i think just those 2 are left honestly. I wanna see Cynthia revealed as one of the characters in the crown tundra, and ignoring the rules of the land and having her garchomp megaevolve haha

Actually, I think it's just Granblue Fantasy. As far as I know, they haven't made any plans to release the game in Europe even though it's already in English, which likely means they're happy with their current playerbase, which means they certainly wouldn't care enough to promote it with a fighter.

I just had a dream that Eggman/Dr. Robotnik was announced. I always was open to him getting into Smash since, well, he is one of the most iconic villains in gaming, but now I kind of want him in Smash.

Eggman would be amazing. He’s arguably the second biggest villain in gaming (maaaaybe Sephiroth by a bit). He could have a really fun moveset too, referencing the dozens of Eggman boss fights.
