Moving on, I want to propose a game. Suppose you got to pick the remaining 5 fighters, but here's the kicker: you need to choose a fighter from each of these series:

• Super Mario (No Donkey Kong/Wario/Yoshi)
• Fire Emblem
• Pokémon (No Mystery Dungeon since that's its own thing)
• Kid Icarus
• Metroid

So... who would you pick?
Mine are Gooigi, Seliph (or Arvis), Gengar, Eggplant Wizard, and... uh... shoot I don't know any Metroid characters because I don't play that. I guess Kraid?

• The duo Mario & Luigi (Technically it isn't from the Super Mario series, but from the Mario & Luigi RPG series)
• Either Itsuki Aoi & Chrom or Tsubasa Oribe & Caeda (Tokyo Mirage Sessions ♯FE Encore, a forgettable 1st party Fire Emblem/Shin Megami Tensei crossover and isn't apart of Sakurai's binary 17 count of the FE series)
• Nobunaga (Pokémon Conquest)
• Pseudo-Palutena
• Space Pirate, especially a amalgam of all sort of different Space Pirates that have appeared throughout the series and created as one character. A Piranha Plant-like character.

Xenoblade: Reyn - because the combination of Shulk time and Reyn time would be unstoppable in doubles.
Splatoon: Octolings - because there is no one else in the Splatoon series that can fight
F-Zero: Pico - because he is awesome, is an assassin and is an Alien turtle.
Kirby: Bandana Dee - to complete the cast.
Pikmin: I would add 2 new Pikmin captains for Pikmin 4, roll all of the characters together and make them all alts of Olimar so:

Olimar: Red (Default)
Louie: Blue
President: Black
Charlie: Green
Brittany: Pink
Alph: Light Blue
New character 1: Yellow
New character 2: Purple

Oh, no, we're well aware of the real reference.


But that's not going to matter in the end when places like Gamexplain are reporting on it being Sakurai referencing the meme, and Matpat will 100% be going wild over this soon enough. Sure, you can say it's a reference to just gameplay, but the widespread opinion in a few years down the line will be "Hey, remember when Sakurai referenced GameTheory? He's such a memer."

How about this for a game? Think up a game that hasn't been done yet so that we can get some good mileage out of it since going in circles will inevitably lead back to discussing the same 3 character possibilities yet again.

Quite odd that people aren't complaining more about Kellam, too. He just has to be the most broken character in Smash Bros. history.

I guess his Smash 4 version is to blame? He was pretty bad in Smash 4, and they never buffed him, making him terrible. Ultimate gave him, among other things, that broken Down B and a true combo, so he should be good, but people are so used to him being trash that nobody plays him.

This tells me they're gonna bring them to NSO at some point later down the line. Probably one of the reasons it's gonna be limited time only.

People complain about Dark Samus being a dumb echo but at least its body shape didn't have to be completely altered.

That leaves next week as pretty much the safest bet for a Smash reveal in September.
