True, but if that's the case, they could wait and announce it at the Tokyo Game Show. If I remember correctly Capcom will be there. If the game is planned to be revealed before that, some kind of Direct it's what makes more sense to me.

I mean it is not uncommon for game devs to announce a game before a major conference so that the conference can mostly be gameplay.

Issue here is the elephant in the room.


The Kirin Armor is pretty skimpy.


If the ESRB threw a fit over Palutena showing too much leg, well, the Kirin Armor effectively wears a loin cloth. It's probably one of the most iconic armor sets to the series, but Smash has kinda thrown down that sex is an issue.

I just mentioned the Kirin set because I wanted to use actual sets as examples that wouldn't draw too many questions. Granted, I only know the names of 2 of the armour sets so I failed in that regard, but still...

True, that could be an issue. Maybe if they changed the loincloth to shorts they could get away with it, but that may not go over well with the developers or the fanbase.

If not, maybe the Zinogre armor? SF used that one with the other two and it's pretty popular.

I dunno if you could alter the female design in a way that would both look nice and CERO would approve of, but the male design would probably work just fine so long as you get rid of the weird inner thigh holes. Unless of course there's a double standard that allows underwear shots for men, though considering they reduced the size of Snake's but, that probably isn't the case.

Truth be told, my experience with Monster Hunter is a LOT like my experience with World of Warcraft.


Had some friends who never stopped talking about said games and tried them out myself... and I hated the gameplay.



They kept saying "Oh but the endgame is soo good!"....but man, if I ain't having fun, what's motivating me to reach said endgame? lol

There have been multiple Kirin armor designs throughout the series. They could always opt for a less horny one if the classic look is too revealing.

I don't see them adding the Hunter to Smash without this thing, it's easily one of the most iconic pieces of armor in the series.

So if we were to get a set of four different armors, maybe something like this could work:

Rathalos - M and F
Kirin/Hunter - M and F
Zinogre - M and F
Mitsuzune - M and F

Rathalos goes without saying, Kirin would be second easily, but if they do run into CERO as a problem then the Hunter set could work instead as while it is painfully basic Smash did use it for the Smash 4 Mii set. Zinogre has made its rounds so that could be a good third option, and for the fourth one I went with Mitzusine since it's popped up in DL and the monster is popular enough to warrant a nod, but you could swap it out for something like Gore Magala since it's not nearly as set.

Honestly, I would love to have more armor options since there are so many good ones, but I doubt they'd allow more then four if they're splitting between genders.

Once the Switch took off, I always figured a major Monster Hunter game for it was inevitable. Capcom haven't been terribly impressive with their projects/ports on Switch (Okami excepted) but they are not foolish enough to leave money on table when portable Monster Hunter always sells like gangbusters.
