Mario and Link were given so many cool new outfits in their Switch entries, it's a shame they didn't get a lot of them as costumes in this game. At least the wedding outfit made it into the game.

Spoiler: The Rex Mii costume should've been a Link costume instead.

I can definitely see Nintendo releasing a BOTW-exclusive Zelda character, seeing how the BOTW series is something Nintendo wants to push and expand upon at the moment.

An up air that looks similar to Zelda's? It would interfere with Ganondorf players who use up air in neutral, but assuming he gets a faster up tilt, that would make up for it.

That's a good idea - the combination of his Smash 4 Up Smash (as a weaker Up Tilt) and Ultimate Up Smash might make him a nightmare to approach from above, but he'd be a bit more vurnerable when he's airborne.

Speaking of which, how are they gonna handle the characters from the first game? Are they gonna get "BOTW-ified"? Are they gonna be DLC? Does it even matter? I don't know, I don't play these types of games...

If it does happen, my money's on either DLC or the story will have some timey-wimey shenaningas involved. Maybe something like Lana (Hyrule Warriors 1's Mage) accidentally casting a wrong spell.

Making a prequel to BotW is such a genius idea, I'm dying to get to experience that part of the lore and a musou is a good way to simulate the "all-out war" vibe they're going for (plus Hyrule Warriors was hella good). Props to Aonuma for coming up with this idea, I'm really looking forward to this.

Now I wonder, there's that Ancient Soldier Mii Costume... You think that could have been foreshadowing for a character in this? Could be cool.

Given Minmin and Byleth were promotional picks, I think there's a chance we could be seeing a BotW character for the same reason. The only question is who?

We won't get them at all. This is a canonical prequel to BotW so I presume we won't be getting the timeline converging plot convenience of the first game to justify the crossover.

Welp, I finally figured out what irks me about Rex's outfit: It's too lopsided. The legs get the big, clunky armor and the top only gets the little vest. Either make the legwear more streamlined or just give him an entire set of armor; Actually commit to something instead of flip-flopping between them.

That, and the fact that his torso is exposed. The guy needs a chestplate, I tell you.

If my hunch is true, I could personally see this pass being either 3 1st parties and 3 3rd party or majority being 1st party and at least two being 3rd parties. Especially given Rex's likelihood at this point and the possibility of said 1st parties being promotional picks.

As someone that didn't think BotW was anywhere near as amazing as it was made out to be, and finds Musuo games completely unappealing, This BotW Hyrule Warriors update is the mehest meh to ever meh for me.

And if this Hyrule Warriors update is really the last big thing from Nintendo this year, then that's a yikes from me. I'm not an AC fan and have no interest in Sticker Star 3. Xenoblade, like botW, is a game I didn't think was THAT good and only thought it was okay, so the remaster was a pass for me. Never got into Pikmin either, so the PIkmin 3 Deluxe was whatever.

new Pokemon Snap is kinda cool, and I'll probably get the Mario 3D All Stars, but even these things aren't really all that hype for me. The former because I'm not the biggest Pokemon fan out there, and 3D All-Stars, while I'm interested in it, did disappoint me a bit with the lack of SMG2, and while it doesn;t affect me, the limited run stunt was really really dumb.

I guess to be less of a Danny Downer though, Min min in SMash was cool, and here's hoping CP7 is cool or hopefully cooler.

I was expecting something related to BotW being released this fall, which is why I was hesitant to rule out BotW2. The amiibo of the Champions were randomly being restocked despite the fact they had already been restocked last year.

Really interested to see how this game turns out. Seems like they put a lot of effort into making it match up with the main game.

I hardly tolerated the sudden Mini Direct of 2018.

I don't think that Sakurai would ever do that.

Sakurai may not, but is it up to him. I assume that, once he sends the videos into Nintendo to have them uploaded onto the Youtube page, he doesn't have much, if any, control.


If Nintendo was willing to drop their flagship IP's big 35th anniversary Direct with 0 fanfare, along with a canonical BotW game, I'm not looking hopefully to this CP being hyped up.

Really though, they could just restrict the extra characters to modes other than the main story mode.

We're not getting CP7 shoved back to 2021. We still have three months and a half left to go, and we're not going to wait that long. It's been about the time that we'd be getting a new character anyways. Depending on how things go we might get CP8 next year, but I highly doubt we'll go a whole year with only a single reveal.

Y'know, I thought at first Hyrule Warriors' complete omission from Smash was because Sakurai didn't consider it good enough to include for whatever reason, but if a character from Hyrule Warriors/a Warrior spirit/music special is coming, I am going to have some ambivalence towards it.
I mean unless the character chosen is from the "mainline" Zeldas with a Warriors-inspired moveset and not one of the myriad OCs.

I at least know she shares some degree of her moveset with Navarre. If I remember correctly, Lyn was in the base game while Navarre was DLC.

Don't think so. Min Min's presentation wasn't shadowdropped and at that point Nintendo already did that, with Paper Mario. So it's not like they started shadowdropping things after Min Min.
