You'd think that if MandyCan wasn't a private account before Byleth's showcase then someone would have found his twitter account and posted a link on the Byleth support thread going "Hey this guy who called No Smash + Mortal Kombat at TGA is saying Byleth for FP5, is this worth keeping an eye on?". But nope, the first time he's mentioned on Smashboards is three days after Byleth's showcase.

It's especially damning for him because this would mark the first prediction he made (since his account was discovered) to be wrong. Basically, it makes it far more likely to be a private twitter trick where he made a bunch of predictions and deleted the wrong ones before making his twitter public.

With all due respect, I believe thinking Dante will come with weapon or style switching is just simply delusional.
First of all, I think "normal" Dante (Rebellion + Ebony&Ivory) has more than enough source material to make a proper
moveset.

Of course Rebellion + Ebony and Ivory alone are more than enough to create a full moveset on their own.

However to make the character unique, making style or weapon switching a thing, where each comes with its own movesets, is one of the best ways to make the character as close to the source material as possible.

It's doable.

Giving Hero 8+ unique moves for his down B tells me that moveset limits aren't a thing. It depends on the character.

Shulk's down B also changes how the character plays too. It's been done before, although probably not to the extent of style or weapon switching in its entirety.

It's not delusional. More so whether it would be worth to effort to create for smash if he gets in. It's doable.

He mentioned he followed him before, something that is not possible, considering I checked every follower Mandy had when I first saw his twitter (about 24 at the time). Each one of his followers Mandy was one of the last people those people followed, signifying that they were very recent follows.

Probably not. Aside from Junior, I doubt any of the remaining newcomers would've been a better choice for E3 than Palutena.

The only thing that happened was the announcement of new Cuphead spirits. Also there wasn't a Direct announcement today. Otherwise, nothing special has happened, so we're still in the dark at the moment.

I'm guessing Feels Mega Man is 2B?

That'd be Mega Man X. He and the Reploids built off of him have free will. While Mega Man has emotions, he can't act on them completely(or at least isn't supposed to)most of the time due to the 3 laws of Robotics. He can decide when to turn himself off though, according to the guy who made the character.

Though he was about to Shoot Wily in MM7. So he (and Protoman) are honestly much closer to Reploids in that regard than any Robot Master. Being built by Dr. Light probably has something to do with that.

Palutena was a fine choice for E3 the year she was revealed. Miis and Pac-Man covered the wider audience successfully, and among the diehards, she was the most popular remaining newcomer in base at that point.

And again, it was really more about showing off her custom specials.

They revealed Miis and Palutena in the same Direct to get them out of the way and update the website to include info about the character customization. That's pretty much all there is to it.

No Undertale spirits would be disappointing though...unless either Frisk or Papyrus will become a fighter (or Sans if he gets upgraded ).

And never has a gimmick so thoroughly undermined the potential of a character than resigning Palutena to possibly the worst selection of default specials fathomable, probably done purposefully to incentivize using the custom moves.

I mean Little Mac's execution may have crippled his competitive viability, but from a conceptual standpoint, at least the standard moveset is an imaginative depiction of the character.

Yeah pretty much. Though honestly, if the next one didn't have any Smash info, I can't say I'd personally mind too much since we kind of know the next character probably took a while to make as is.

I know he started out as a manga character, but can we please, for the love of god, get Giorno Giovanna? The 2002 game GioGio's Bizarre Adventure came out before the anime adaptation of Golden Wind, and besides, JoJo's Bizarre Adventure is pretty popular in Japan.

I'm excited for a Direct for completely non-Smash related reasons; I just want to see which games I'll actually be able to play this year. Idc about PMD, I don't intend to play Xenoblade, Pikmin 3, W101 or 3D World again, and I enjoy AC but it doesn't make me hype. Doom got delayed to some nebulous non-date, I haven't understood a single NMH3 trailer, and BotW2 I still have to squint at in the distance.

Same. Still really don't have much planned to buy for the Switch this year other than Silksong, which might not actually even be coming out this year. Everything else is PS4 right now, which I love but I'd like to use my Switch for a new game or 2 this year still.

I honestly forgot. I only ever got into the first NSMB game that much. The other 3 kind of blend together for me.

Gives me a bit of hope that 3D World can get the same treatment, since I found it more creative both visually and in terms of level gimmicks.

My current lack of PS4 will no longer be tolerable when April hits, but I assume that at some distant point in the future, they will release all episodes of the FF7 remake together, and (if I've managed to wait that long) that is when I'll strike. Y'know, for the PS6.

It's kind of hard to have sympathy for someone who lied to everyone.

I wish I had my PS4 at college since I could be chipping away at my backlog. Playstation's flash sales have truly been too kind to me.

Agreed. Never finished it, wasn't super thrilled when it was ported over 3D World lol. But yeah, porting isn't unprecedented now, fortunately.
