Let's say that, after this current Fighters Pass, we get an announcement that the next DLC character will be a -style "bonus" character that comes completely by itself and isn't connected to any Passes. This character also has to follow the following two rules/guidelines...

1. The character has to have some reusable assets from Ultimate or the previous Smash games. Assist Trophies, Mii Fighter costumes, regular trophies, in-game model cameos... basically anything that can be used to help the development process go faster than just starting from scratch.
2. The character will not come with a stage, music, or spirits in order to lessen the workload, so it will likely be a character from a series that already has plenty of those in Smash already.

With those in mind, who would you pick for a hypothetical "bonus" character?

Ok, so it feels like the best pick would either be an AT upgrade or a series already repped in the game. A few options I can think of
A non gen 8 Pokemon(so we wouldn't miss out on the music)
A FE character from a game with plenty of stuff in already
Bandanna Waddle Dee
Dixie Kong
Another Mario Rep(Shy Guy, King Boo, or Birdo)

X from Megaman X. He has a model from Mega Man's final smash and has a simmilar build to the Samuses, so that shouldn't be an issue. The lack of greater MMX content is a shame, but what we have works well enough.

I was going to say "Charizard with rock smash," but then I noticed you want my actual pick.

Hmm... I guess it'd be Dixie Kong. It feels like her moveset wouldn't be far off from Diddy's, and she had a trophy (though it would certainly need some polishing). It's really weird not having Dixie at this point.

That way, we won't miss out on getting a character from those games when new entries in their franchise come along. Then I'd add one or two popular requests to acknowledge what the fans want.

Earlier this week, the Dusk Trilogy was rereleased for Switch, PS4, and Steam. Wouldn't it be wild if Ryza was also announced for FP5 on the same week?

God yes. Almost all the music in the series can be downloaded from the eShop for free and used as a customizable soundtrack for Ryza, so hopefully the stage could get dozens of tracks as effortlessly as Terry's did.

Then five minutes on next update and Mii Fighters

Weiird wording considering most of the assist trophies would require less time to be made from scractsh than using their animations and models.

Anyways, while I really would love another Castlevania stage and MOAR music... is not like we didnt get a lot of castlevania love, so my pick would be Alucard full on.

EDIT: oh, and also i would love mii wizard. although maybe that one could be a free character with tons of pay costumes to compensate?

I'd honestly love it if it was a unique Echo of Charizard only. Seeing as how each of the three Pokemon still get numbers, it would be doable. More or less, giving it Rock Smash as well as keeping the rest of the moves. Of course, a different Final Smash too. Not sure on the best way to do the attributes.

Pokemon Trainer him/herself getting an Echo isn't nearly as easy, but still possible; Wartortle/Bulbasaur/Mega Charizard X(or Y) have the right designs to make it work. You'd just need a different Trainer maybe? At the very least, a different character portrait.

Those were two fun echo ideas I had. You could also give Mega Charizard X(or Y) Rock Smash as is, in place of its Side B or add it to Down B respectively.

A personal pick of mine would be Tails because if we're thinking of expanding Sega even more with suggestions such as Arle (Nothing against Arle though on my part though). I feel a Sonic & Tails Vs. Mario & Luigi being possible like in the old EGM April Fools issue would be awesome. I'd take Tails anyway to do him whether it's fully semi-cloned ala Isabelle or Lucas. But if they must, I'd even take an Echo where only the recovery is made different (Perhaps Pit's old Brawl Up special) since Sonic's A moves borrow heavily from Sonic the Fighters. And in Sonic the Fighters, Tails was kind of the Ken of that game.

Though if it could only be first party. Maybe a bonus character that kind of makes up for the weird choice of a random Mario enemy like including Toad/Captain Toad (If it's a regular Toad you could even borrow the model from Peach and/or Daisy's Neutral special and grabs) or Waluigi

Alucard, Black Knight and Waluigi would be my top picks here.
They have their associated music in game already and I think they'd be super fun.

I really have no idea who the final character to the pass will be if Vergeben and Zippo's info is correct. I really am scratching my head on it. There seems to be a very tight lid on it. Aside from the other two guesses I made (which are much more plausible than the one I am about to make), there is one other possible suggestion, but he is really out there.

Lolo from the Eggerland/Adventures of Lolo series.

It is pretty weird to me Lolo from the Eggerland/Adventures of Lolo series did not show up as a spirit. HAL Laboratories owns the character, so I am not sure why he or anything else from Adventures of Lolo/Eggerland did not show up as a spirit.

However, this character's series is incredibly retro (the last release for his series was all the way back in 1994, or 2000 if you look at the Windows re-release). I guess the character is kept sort of "alive" in a Bayonetta sense through Kirby series cameos, but that is really stretching it.

However, I could not see this character happening simply due to how obscure he is (and his series). He basically has non-existent limbs (probably even stubbier than Jigglypuff and Kirby) for A-attacks attacks, and his moveset would basically be pushing blocks. Unlike Glory (that mech I posted yesterday), there is not a "coolness" factor to offset the obscurity. To post people, this would basically be another Piranha Plant (Lolo is a random Kirby boss in the eyes of most).

However, with Vergeben's original de-confirmation list in mind, I cannot think of anything else (though maybe someone else has a suggestion). It is truly an enigma. However, we will have our answers in half a day. I think there is probably someone that got it right though.

If Vergeben is wrong, then my prediction is that Fighter 5 will be Dante or Arle. I am not going to get really deep into them because conventionally, there is quite a few hints for both of them (for Dante its DMC3 Switch port dropping in February, and for Arle its possible cryptic clues and the current producer of Puyo Puyo re-tweeting the upcoming direct's announcement).

Waluigi would be perfect since you could justify him reusing animations as him "stealing" moves from other fighters and it would still be in-character.

Don't think Geno needs to be an E3 reveal, he's huge within the Smash fanbase (who'll be watching all presentations anyways), but not so much outside of it. E3 is for the ones who'll make the biggest splash among the wider gaming audience.

I've had people argument to me that Geno deserves to be the Square over both Hero and Cloud.

Its also strange me that I've seen people get mad at the idea of even having another Pokemon like one from Sword and Shield because there are enough Pokemon and yet are wanting yet another Mario character who is more of a minor when you take into account the entire Mario franchise.

Kazuma Kiryu is at least one of Sega's most beloved characters these days, him being absent from a Sega theme pass would be so strange.

Kazuma Kiryu is my most wanted Sega character for Smash. Arle being a close second and I'd accept him in Smash given how much I adore Yakuza.

My only downside is if Arle gets in tomorrow, Kiryu may not make it in Smash due to it even with Post-Pass and vice versa for Arle if Kiryu us FP5. Meaning one or the other will have to get in.

Though that is a weird worry, it's something I can see happening.
