probably more for Vouchers but also to temporarily prevent new purchases of the pass to not overload the network

I dunno, some people were also predicting Terry wouldn't release before the Sword and Shield ad expired in late November, but we got him early anyways.

Seems to me it could mean they're adjusting things for current season passes up for purchase, which correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that Fire Emblem and Smash are the only ones that are still actively being worked on ATM?

Would still caution overhyping this and waiting for some more solid confirmation, but it's at least something.

I just remembered Luigi's Mansion 3 also has pre-purchasable DLC ATM.

Again, I wouldn't assume this means Smash. Let's wait and see what happens next week.

Would honestly love to be wrong about my February predictions, ha ha. Nintendo's barren spring and summer slate is making me a bit nervous we might have a light year like 2018 again, I would like some info to help ease those fears a bit.

Arlo's Star Fox idea for Kart 8 DLC has stuck with me and now I need it.

That's the thing though. Kart 8's player base on Switch is massive, and it continues to be one of the best selling Switch games. They should just do a DLC season for it

Even if it's massive, the game is almost three years old now - six if you're looking at the orginal.

I don't want to wait a full decade before we get our next new installment of Mario Kart. At this rate, we might be looking at a scenario where the Switch doesn't get a new MK at all, and it's all because 8 got ported.

My absolute, 100% unrealistic dream is to get the Champions as Hyrule Warriors DLC, but that ship sailed a while ago.

I'd also love if Todd Howard and company decided to bring some of the other Elder Scrolls games to Switch. Especially if they went and gave Morrowind the RE2make treatment. Man, I just want to see a remastered Morrowind...

And of course, more details on BotW2. I don't mind if they take their time actually releasing it, but I want to see more with the Dorf.

I'm aware, but that's not the same as DLC, which is something MK8D has yet to have gotten. If they wanted to give MK8D more DLC, they should've done that 2-3 years earlier.

At this point, any DLC would kill the chances of us getting another new Mario Kart within the next three years, and whatever DLC they could add to MK8D wouldn't amount to what we could get in a brand new game.

Like, I know I'll probably get scoffed at for saying it, but I really think Waluigi has a legit chance in post-pass. I'm not gonna say he's a lock (would never assume that for any character, lol) but I think if it's ever gonna happen, his odds have never looked better IMO.

Like you said, you should appreciate that Waluigi is even an Assist Trophy. Sakurai views ATs as just as valuable as any other part of the game and only includes them as a way of trying to make people happy. Why should Waluigi even be made playable if he already have such a great role as an Assist Trophy?

I'm aware, but that's not the same as DLC, which is something MK8D has yet to have gotten. If they wanted to give MK8D more DLC, they should've done that 2-3 years earlier.

At this point, any DLC would kill the chances of us getting another new Mario Kart within the next three years, and whatever DLC they could add to MK8D wouldn't amount to what we could get in a brand new game.

IMO the only way Nintendo could expand upon Kart at this point would be by adding Nintendo characters/courses. We have antigravity, flying, underwater, bikes, customizable kart parts, etc.

Kart 8 is top 3 best looking games on the Switch already.

So just add Nintendo courses/characters via DLC (items would be cool too)

I don't think a new Mario Kart will come for a while though is the thing. Aside from Tour, MK8DX will (very likely) see its official release in China this month (yes, as crazy as that sounds). I'm actually keeping an eye out for when it and Odyssey appear on the Chinese government's list of approved games since it could tell us one thing: How much censorship there'll likely be in the eventual Chinese Smash release (Do note that on this area, companies very often self-censor before sending it to the Chinese government, because the laws are intentionally opaque).
