Okay, how about you give me the citation that a lot of people are playing with items and Assist Trophies on. If it's okay for someone to say "a lot of people like to play with items on" without citing anything why is such a sin to say "a lot of people don't like to play with items on"?

Also if people are replying to me saying "Sakurai view Assist Trophies as" or "Sakuai's intentions were" I'm going to call you out because your opinion is based off of Sakurai's mentality instead of your own. You're using the the creators comments to justify why you should like it and why people are wrong for disliking it. That's like saying The Game of Thrones writers tried really hard so people shouldn't criticize the last season.

But I get it now. If it's about preaching positivity don't need to defend crap, you can be blind as much as you want. But if state something you dislike which could be consider negative then boy howdy you need to prepare for a massive defense because people are going keep telling you that opinion is super wrong and should be ashamed about it.
No one is preaching positivity here, you're just preaching negativity every chance you get and pretending you're being devil's advocate when you're really just being an ass. Which is far, far less productive, enjoyable, engaging, tolerable, etc.

Honestly at this point I half figure you're just trolling, between this and your time in the Geno thread, so consider this the last time I address you directly. I highly suggest others do the same.

Speaking of direct, 15 minutes until meltdown on if we're even getting one or not. Or... Is it an hour 15?

That new Smash ad said it'd expire until Feb 2nd right? Does that mean we wont get the newcomer until that date?

We know for a fact guns are very much allowed and as seen in the past, you can get RE monsters without gore to lower age ratings. CERO isn't a problem for RE in Smash
I always hear that guns are allowed in smash but Bayonetta and Joker's guns aren't like regular guns. Bayonetta guns are magical guns that obviously don't look like real guns and while Joker's gun is model, it looks cartoony enough to pass off as family friendly. Plus items that act like guns never actually look like a real life gun. I'm probably wrong about guns not being in smash but I just wanted to put my opinion out there.

Joker's guns in Persona 5 look real enough in-universe that they function like real ones in the metaverse.

Joker's gun being a model is never mentioned in Smash. It looks like a real gun, sounds like a real gun and works like a real gun. CERO's hypothetical job isn't to determine whether it's actually real, but rather to go "yup this is a gun alright, not for kiddos then". I say hypothetical as there are plenty of kid shows in Japan with real guns, both anime and live action

There's a very very remote possibility that something would be announced by the NintendoVS Twitter at 9PM EST if it was specifically Smash-related, but again, that's remote. It's more likely that something would be announced tomorrow considering Wednesdays and Thursdays are the usual Nintendo Direct day.

Overall, I don't think there's anything pointing to a Direct soon, but if we were to get one this week it wouldn't be announced tonight wouldn't be it unless it was Smash-only and that just...doesn't really seem likely.

Persona 5 constantly makes a point that the models that The Phantom Thieves use could get them in legal trouble for looking so real. There's absolutely nothing cartoony about them and they behave like real guns in the Metaverse too.

I looked it up for ****s and giggles and there are apparently air soft guns of Joker's pistol. This would probably get me in trouble at an airport, ngl.

I want to see someone do the timeline garbage but with none of the popular choices.

IIRC, Direct's are always announced Tuesday's at 10AM ET. So I think we're good.
I recall some directs have occurred on a Thursday no? If not tomorrow still a chance Wednesday otherwise its either next week or February.

My bad, the gun doesn't look cartoony in smash, I should've taken a closer look at it. However doesn't it look kind of simple?

Relatively? Looks like any pistol I could get in America if you ask me. Any other gun in Smash would probably be moddled around this style anyways.

I mean, it's a pistol straight up and down. Nothing fancy to begin with and it doesn't do remotely anything to communicate it as special like some weapons might from other characters.

It doesn't matter. Japanese kid shows regularly have real life guns in them. A show that's only been around since September even had a guy pointblank a robot in the head with a real gun, showing the clip or whatever at the back visibly moving too. Guns are NOT a concern

I ain't playing devil's advocate, I'm stating my own opinion. I'm stating that I don't like Assist Trophies. I'm not trying to start a debate, instead I'm having people tell me that I'm wrong for not liking them. If people have a problem with some guy not liking something in Smash Bros Ultimate then that's on them. We could just be like "I don't agree with that, but that's okay since it's just your opinion about a video game," but instead we got to be like "well would you rather have nothing?" "Sakurai made it so you can be happy, so appreciate it," "the character wasn't going to get in regardless," "a lot of people like the Assist Trophies, think about those guys." Super fun times here, all opinions are good to have as long as it's saying that you like something.

In fact, they look more realistic in Smash, as they added a little loop which is a feature a real gun has that the Persona 5 models do not.

Judging by Joker's animations, it seems the issue is less to do with real guns and more to do with realistic firearm ballistics, given that Joker shots fire out of his pistol.

That's not it shooting fire, though. That's a muzzle flash.

Point still stands, it really does seem that bullets are more an issue than guns themselves.
N-no. For all the people in charge of age ratings know, those are still actual bullets. It's like how Chris in MvC has particle effects used instead of actual bullet models, it's significantly easier and can be used to visually communicate a hitbox
