Here's another set of challenges! You get to pick the 5 next characters of Fighter's Pass 2. It doesn't matter who they are or what role they presently have in Smash, assuming they're from a video game. But, they have to have the following gameplay conditions.
- The first character has to be heavier than Bowser. (135 is the weight to beat, unless tied.) Ties are acceptable.
- The second character has to be lighter than Pichu. (Can't be higher than 61, except to tie.) Ties are acceptable.
- The third character has to have an overarching gimmick that defines their playstyle. (Something like Arsene.)
- The fourth character has to have no major gimmicks, being relatively straightforward. (Kinda like Mario.)
- The final character has to be able to spawn an item or an item-like entity.
My picks would be... Ganon (tying), Paper Mario (also tying), Arle Nadja (chain gimmick), Shovel Knight, and Crash Bandicoot (crates).
This is tough... let’s see...
1. Gotta have a heavy-armored monster here, so I’m thinking
Nightmare. He may not be the tallest (the Soul Calibur character pages list him as being 5’6”), but with that arm and Soul Edge, I can see him having the weight to compare to Bowser.
2. I’ll go with
Midna. She’s got the imp body and is floaty as well, so I can see her being really light. Plus the Zelda series really needs another unique moveset already.
3. You know I have to put my guy somewhere.
Dovahkiin would work really well with three charge states and a cooldown timer on his specials - the basic level is pretty worthless but the third is powerful, but leaves him unable to use specials for a while. I’ve got my moveset concept in the thread.
4. I like basic characters. If I wanted to have a bit of fun here, I’d go with Urbosa, but since I already have a Zelda pick, I’ll take
Ezio. He’s (well, both really) got a nice mix of projectiles and close attacks, but no real gimmicks.
5. I can’t say much from his recent games, but
Tails is a gadgeteer and could play with item spawns. And let’s face it, Sonic’s original player two needs more than a three-star spirit and a disturbing Mii costume.
