I log in, see two mentions in my notification thing, and it's surprisingly not about Gravity Rush lol.

I do appreciate being that one Nihon Falcom fan very much (perhaps due to my appreciation of the other Estelle), but the honor belongs to Jedisupersonic, Coconattsu, and YsDisciple. With that being said, Katkit is indeed typing, ahaha.

I also think they're slept on and that they could use the exposure. With that being said, I will now use this opportunity to drop knowledge.

Nihon Falcom is like SNK in a lot of ways; they were and still are highly influential to their area of expertise. Like SNK, they're also known for their music. In fact, Nihon Falcom was one of the first gaming companies with a sound team dedicated to writing music for their games. The music in their flagship title Ys helped lay the foundation of what songs typically sound like in JRPGs in general. They're a relatively small, yet extremely passionate company that's been around for almost 40 years. There's something that I haven't really brought up here before yet, and it's their contribution to PC gaming in Japan. In short: they really helped put it on the map. There was a time when they were #1 on PC out there; Dragon Slayer was a huge success. Even now, a majority of their games start off on PC and get ported to other consoles later.

I could talk about their contribution to the ARPG subgenre for days. Ys is still one of the best ones. However, I'd rather talk about something often considered their greatest masterpiece and contribution to the industry: the Kiseki series. The gameplay is good and the music is fantastic, but that story is the best I've seen in any video videogame ever... hands down. They basically created a videogame cinematic universe. The world building and continuity is unlike anything ever attempted before. There's an overarching main plot, but hundreds of side stories and hundreds of characters, and dozens of radically different locales/settings, AND THEY TRY TO MAKE YOU CARE ABOUT ALL OF THEM, and it's elaborately interconnected. Not a single character in that world isn't fleshed out or left behind. It is unbelievable because they all have a role to play. It truly rewards players for their time and effort.
Something in common between my experiences with Legend of Heroes, Yakuza and Nier is that I very rarely remember any "quest rewards" from sidequests, but I remember the plot of most sidequests themselves, because they make you care about each and every one of them and, in Nier and Heroes' cases, they are actually important to understanding the greater plot.

They will show Sonichu in the splash screen but throughout the whole trailer, Chris Chan will be the one doing the fighting. Sonichu will only appear in his taunts.

I don't know what to make of it but if it's fake, we do have a couple of French hackers who could be responsible for the creation of them. I don't have the actual conversation but I got the translation for that conversation below.

Well...
That’s that then for cacomallow I suppose

At least we got something fun from it

Hmm... intriguing

might be coincidence that the original Grinch leak was “staged” from the POV of a fake French Illumination employee but... like the original Grinch this might be one of those “the world may never know” mysteries. Like how many licks to get to the center of a Tootsie Roll Pop

I know there’s a rumor that a certain... Rosalina amiibo scalper was behind the image, which wouldn’t be surprising as if he had the money to scalp that many amiibo he could easily commission that artwork, but no one confirmed or denied it

I'm very convinced that the CacoMallow leak is fake, however, while this conversation is something we should keep in mind it doesn't really prove anything. If I remember correctly, the original screenshot the translator is talking about did not have any evidence at all, it was just a bunch of dudes boasting about how they fooled everyone.

I can't believe someone wasted money paying an artist who forgot to copy over Snake's shadow from the original banner. But hey, some were fooled by the "compression" of the image so...money well spent?

As others have mentioned before: the baity nature of addig Ken, being 2 costumes of characters popular in 4chan plus that Nintendo who is trigger happy with the youtube videos has been ignoring the uploads there makes me think is most likely fake.

I...I'm pretty sure that post was a tongue-in-cheek reference to how we often sit in here spinning our wheels and talking about the same subjects.

Alright let's see here, we've already rehashed a random 4chan leak for the millionth time, next up is...Ah, okay.

*Ahem* Fire Emblem bad my favorite niche character good.

And by uttering that phrase, I just started what will soon be the next 5 pages of this thread.:4pacman:

What if Smash fighters had some kind of prom party before the release of each Smash title?

Would it be called Newcoming?

All those Vin Diesel characters and you leave out the one that's actually a video game character...Milo Burik from Wheelman.
An easily noticeable omission on my part, but rest assured that Wheelman is in the complete move list. I referenced everything.

So even if it doesn't get in Smash, the future is looking Bright

But Sabi, Vergeben, et. all and my uncle at Nintendo all said Fire Emblem wasn't going to be one of the DLC!!! Captain Rainbow is definitely the next fighter!

What would your reaction be if we got 10 more DLC characters after the Fighter's Pass but they were Waluigi, Geno, Bomberman, Crash, Lloyd Irving, Phoenix Wright, Isaac, Bandana Dee, Skull Kid and Sora?
Waluigi: I'm fine with it. Not really interested but his fans have been waiting for it.
Geno: Ok. He seems to have a cool moveset.
Bomberman: The original trapper finally gets to be in Smash. It would be cool if the alts were the Bomber brothers&sisters from Super Bomberman R. I would play the heck out of Aqua.
Crash: Don't really know what he does, but he's popular. So I'm fine.
Lloyd: Never played Tales before but dual blade is awesome.
Phoenix: I'm fine. He would be one of the most unique fighters out there.
Isaac: Yes. Yes. YES. I found out about GS after 11.1 direct and I loved it. He's my second favorite character for who I want in Smash.
Bandana Dee: We don't have fighters using spears. He seems cool. Cute too.
Skull Kid: Assist trophy promotion is always good in my book.
Sora: Never played KH before but I know lots of people want him. Plus his Keyblade looks cool too.
If I were to add someone I would add Hornet, but these 10 characters are mighty fine.

Waluigi: Might as well make this the final Smash game, we have the only character truly missing come home at last.

Geno: Eh.

Bomberman: Yes. Yes. YES.

Crash: Ayeeee cool beans.

Lloyd: Gimme Yuri instead.

Phoenix Wright: Heck yeah it's lawyer time.

Isaac: Eh.

Bandana Dee: Better than most of what gets thrown around in Smash speculation.

Skull Kid: Same deal as Waluigi, no character apart from a select few could top this.

Sora: AMTSKGDLYD SORA'S IN SMASH TAKE MY MONEY SAKURAI

I mean, I like a lot of those characters with 3 of the 5 being among my top 5 most wanted across Smash... but man does that ever feel like catering to a certain specific sentiment of Smash Bros if I've ever seen it. I'm not particularly keen on upgrades for one thing, so 4 Assist Trophies getting upgraded is kind of lame, especially when Waluigi is quite possibly the single most boring upgraded assist trophy I could think of and Skull Kid just sort of being a thing (seriously, I like Skull Kid, but Zelda has better options IMO).

I wouldn't really disappointed, and half that list would get me really hype, just the other half would leave me... whelmed at best.

I'm OK with an upgrade or two, but any more than that and it starts to just feel like Nintendo is just responding to a handful of vocal outcries and it sort of stifles the ambition we've seen everywhere in Smash. Even if I would love to see Bomberman and Geno get the upgrades, this list has 6 of the characters serving as upgrades of the total 10, which is just a bit too much. I want to see Sakurai/Nintendo do new exciting things and add more universes to Smash personally.

Heck, to this point Dragon Quest still has the most spirits out of every DLC franchise in Ultimate.

Not even SNK got as many spirits.
What SNK lacks in spirits, they make up with music.
I am still amazed we got 50 song from one DLC character alone!
Nonsense.

That being said, what do you guys think about the CacoMallow leak now? I know this was brought up, like, only a day ago but I'm sure something has changed regarding it!
Nothing has changed regarding the "Cacomallow Leak."
I'm leaning toward it being real based the evidence, but I'm sticking to #teamneutral for the meantime.

Not much has changed. It has been proven that the costumes can be modded in (even with the jiggle physics) and even if it's real, it wouldn't necessarily mean Geno and/or Doomguy are in.
The most peculiar thing about the leak is that these would be some of the first Mii costume mods we have. You'd expect those first mods to be rough, but CacoMallow is on par with Nintendo's official Mii costumes. That's the only reason I keep an eye on it.
I think it is still fake.

Given how the costumes can be made within a week timespan, the biggest thing going for it--the difficulty of mii modding--was eradicated.

Pokémon Ranger content is seriously needed too.
I just think the DS era was the peak of Pokemon. The current games are good, but HG/SS and BW2 are on another level. And then there's Ranger, PMD, and Conquest which are just as good, if not better than the main series games of their time.
This man speaks the truth!
Grovyle for Smash!
Good taste!
I think the exclusion of content from Pokemon Dash is a much more pressing issue.
not wrong. #Dash4Smash!

Quick reminder that there is no Pokemon Mystery Dungeon content in Smash, which is an absolute tragedy and should be fixed.
Falsehoods! We got a remix of Gladion's theme, which kind of uses one of the Run Away, Fugitives as a leitmotif. Clearly this tangential representation is all this series needs.

To be honest I don't really see the appeal of Pokémon Mystery Dungeon. I've only played Pokémon Super Mystery Dungeon so that may be my issue, but there's little to no gameplay variety and a lot of the later dungeons tended to give you the middle finger when it came to type match-ups. Also the Belly mechanic is really annoying.

I bet it has some unique locations that could be turned into Super Smash Bros. stages though. Perhaps they could make a dungeon level that has a random layout like Super Mario Maker.

Stadium and Snap aside, goddamn Pokemon Rumble is easily the best spinoff.

It means nothing. Even if the Mii Costumes are real doesn't mean that Geno and Doomguy are playable. Good chance that both are Mii Costumes or one of them is Mii Costume while the other is a playable character.
