Not that I necessarily doubt it, but what's the business sense in putting Halo on the Switch? To make Microsoft seem cool? If anything that hurts them because people will be like "Okay, get my Switch for some XBox stuff and as my companion system to the PS4/5 as my home console for the Sony exclusives".
Edit: I guess if they're just trying to squeeze more sales out of old Halo games it makes sense but idk.
Same reason a whole bunch of people buy another version of any game on Switch that they may own elsewhere: A portable version is a super attractive offer to a lot of people. I mean, Halo on Switch will never really compete with the mainline, brand new Halo games on Xbox, and Microsoft has been steadily just not caring about exclusives as much with their brand (Minecraft, Cuphead, Ori, and Super Lucky's Tale on Switch to start). Plus, there's a whole bunch of people with classic Halo nostalgia that will probably buy these titles every single time they come out.
A MCC announcement fits more for a direct. I don't think Nintendo or Microsoft wants to waste their time in TGA to "help" another console, to put it in a way.
Huh? They both make money off of this and would get an absolutely massive PR response the best marketing teams in the world could only dream of. It's not wasted if revealed at TGAs in the least bit.
Yea but it doesnt make sense to have two reps in the same FP. If we do include MC now then it would just screw it up for everyone involve. Microsoft wont take that risk since it would only damage them and Nintendo. They can still do it if its spirits or mii costumes but adding another as a fighter is a bad move.
Master Chief in Smash would damage Microsoft and Nintendo because of some baseless fan rule and assumption that people are really going to care about there being two "Microsoft characters" in one pass (one of which being an original Nintendo character, so does it even matter???).
Sure Jan.
I feel like MCC on Switch would be impossible for the cartridge lol. Am I wrong?
Depends on how much of the Master Chief Collection we got. The total for all 6 games on Xbox One is around 100 GB, but that includes Halo, Halo 1 Anniversary, Halo 2, Halo 2 Anniversary, Halo 3, Halo 3 ODST, Halo Reach, and Halo 4 and all of their content and a **** ton of HD assets specifically for that Halo 2 anniversary (which are some large files on their own given the quality of those textures and cut scenes). If they just did like Halo 1-3 or something of the sort, they probably wouldn't have any issue, especially with a 32 GB cart in play. Xbox 360 games could only be up to like 8 GB originally anyway, so you'd probably be looking at around 16 GB for those first 3 titles anyway.
Every DLC comes from different companies and Banjo belongs to Rare which is now in Microsoft as we all know. It may be a fan rule but it makes total sense. Some of us would be greatly disappointed if our character doesnt make it in only for another Microsoft character gets in. Not everyone but most people will be thinking that Microsoft is getting too much and that Sakurei have made a poor choice.
Again... why would Nintendo and Microsoft care? Master Chief and Banjo & Kazooie are such different characters with such different fan bases in regards to who would want to see them in Smash. Their two massive circles with the only point of intersection being "owned by Microsoft." Banjo & Kazooie got in because of fan demand as former Nintendo characters, Halo would get in on its own legacy. Nobody except for the absolutely insane Smash fan base is going to remotely care about this reality if it comes to pass. And even those voices will be 100% drowned out by "HOLY ****ING ****, MASTER CHIEF IN SMASH, OH MY GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOD."
