Isn't not allowing refunds for digital purchases illegal in the EU
Nintendo of Europe is currently in a trial against the German Consumer Protection Authority (VZBV) as well as the Norweigian Consumer Bureau over the eShop policies. One important note is that while Germany's a key member of the EU, Norway's not (although Norway has a lot of treaties and economic partnerships with the EU; being a member of the EU-associated EFTA - it's complicated).
In particular, the Norweigian Bureau argues that the no-refund policies violates Norway's consumer laws, and the German ditto in essence agreed with the Norweigian Buerau - the VZBV were the ones who sued Nintendo. As such, the trial's being held in Frankfurt and Hesse (where NoE is headquartered). NoE, on their part, calls the Norweigian Buerau's arguments "unbearable" and counterargues that the consumer can't cancel a preorder before the agreement's signed and the game's downloaded.
The trial's held behind closed doors, so we won't know until it's all settled.
I can read
Norweigian kinda decently, being from a neighboring country.
Yeah, I never understood why Capcom is doing this. This utterly confuses me. But hey, at least the Switch is getting DMC3.
BTW, if Chief is true for FP5, then Dante for Post-Pass. At that point, I don't see anything holding back Dante.
My best guess is that the Switch might not be able to store the full DMC collection? Yeah, it confuses me too.
