It's also important to look beyond season 1; keep hyping up the characters ya want and why you'd think they'd get in if they ever did. It doesn't hurt to focus on the long-term. Bring awareness to that character you like to help get people interested in their series and potential Smash inclusion.

1st party support here died down considerably. If I recall correctly, there's now a general support thread lol. Elma and Waluigi are two examples of exceptions that come to mind that's been lingering on for a while. We don't know how long they'd milk this, but Street Fighter V has been doing it for almost 4 years now, Tekken 7 for almost five, Under-Night for almost 8 (kind of; it received notable upgrades and gameplay changes), etc. Longterm support for one title is how fighting games work nowadays. Smash will be no different. And if it was, they'd probably hold another ballot (i.e. suggestion box) for the next title. Get the word out now rather than later.

3rd party support kinda shifts to characters who seem like the next likely candidate. For example, Nihon Falcom may not be in the running now or even next season, but all 5 of us need to keep proudly doing our thing (especially now that we're in the spotlight and the Trails games are coming to Switch!).

It doesn't matter if you're wrong now or for years; we have Terry in the game and he was somehow unexpected. Someone like Sari may have seemed like a pipe dreamer back in the day; now he comes off like Nostradamus.

Them + Lucas were all released on the same day which was right after the former two were announced and even caused the eshop servers to crash.

Crimson flower was my first route... then i went for golden deer which i'm just finishing now since i went on a full recruit and support farm (it has taken a ton of time DX). While certainly i love Claude and is by far the saner person in all fodlan, Golden eer route made me want edelgard even more... I also loved her in golden deer... the last cinematic murdered me.

on teh other hand, in that rote Dimitri was completely nonconsequential and even Dedue was more relevant DX....

I'll probably do Edelgard's route next since she's the character I've been hearing the most about. Then I'll do Claude for the God-Shattering Star finale.

They were likely done with negotiations and the reached the deals for all 5 of them in November of 2018 if this tweet of Sakurai's is anything to go by.

Fighter 5 likely won't be shadowdrop during the game awards as Sakurai will likely want to a livestream just like the past 3 fighters. Chances are even if Fighter 5 is revealed on Thursday we have to wait until January or Febuary for them to release.

There were a lot of doubters, but I didn't expect Vergeboy to go back on his original list. Sakura, Tracer, Reimu, Crash, Kat, and Arle sacrificed their souls to save everyone else from his tyranny.

Everyone of these characters except Crash, (cause I like Spyro better) were characters I either wanted or didn't mind coming to Smash. Their sacrifice will (hopefully) not be in vain...

I look at the CSS and methodically count out how many characters out of the 82 we currently have use swords and might have a passing resemblance to anime, all so I can complain on the internet. This is clearly what Sakurai intended.

if sam bridges is teh character, i feel that i will certainly enjoy the new stage considering i find teh world of death stranding very pretty. Also teh ammount of silly stuff that happens during a normal death stranding combat sequence wouldn't be completely out of context in smash, and i'm not talking about piss... a moveset based on weight control, ladder placing and item flinging doesn't sound too boring honestly.

I also would love to see the darkstalkers stage they choose (probably a chateu or outside teh Aensland castle in the makai world) and music remixes if morrigan is in. also i really hope that the go into a darkstalkers mii costumes rampage. really hoping for Demitry's theme also.

As i said it before if they put a tekken character, at least i'm gonna greatly enjoy the music it brings, tekken music is pretty cool.

While characters that come from a series that already have content don't NEED music and stage... i would RIOT if we get a 3 houses rep withouth garreg mach Stage and at least 8 music tracks. I'm also hoping some mii costumes. Same with Dixie Kong. it would be teh perfect tiem for either a Donkey Kong Country 2 stage or a Tropicla Freeze stage. and music from both games is a big desire of mine.

I really want a way to get more final fantasy content, even if it comes with a character i don't care too much about like a FFXIV
character, or just random mii costumes.

I think their predictions were mostly Breath of the Wild's sequel, Metroid Prime trilogy, and Smash.

I hope the first one comes true. I highly doubt it'll release this year, but seeing more of it would be awesome.

Kinda a nitpick, but it is actually the Newcomer/DLC speculation thread.

So in theory we could also speculate about new Mii costumes or the concept of stage DLC.

The last time I pointed out that a blunder exactly like this one could happen, people laughed at the idea and made Verge seem infallible.

Anyways, when people bring up the updated deconfirmation list, I ask that Kat gets listed next to Nihon Falcom lol. In hindsight, it's kinda cool to see her excluded among the likes of Ryu Hayabusa, Sakura, and Gordon Freeman and requested companies like Ubisoft. It feels like my girl made an impact (which she did) and was a highly requested Sony rep or something.

But yeah... It's almost the VGAs. I'm not going to bother giving leakers attention anymore. We're probably getting a reveal very soon. I can wait.

That's the feeling I got too concerning Kat. Sometime all it takes is a little attention, or ripple in a pond to make waves. It'll be cool if she made such an impact, that it makes Sakurai goes: "Hmm? People are talking about Kat from Gravity Rush? Not bad, I wonder how she'd fight *imagines how she would dance in his mind like he does for all the characters in the game*?"

This is where I'm leaning too, with Sora, 2B, and Geralt as outside shots.

Phoenix and 2B are my picks but any choice on that list will make me happy (though for Geralt it'll be for a somewhat unconventional reason).

Sticking with Amaterasu, Elma, or Saber, as our FP5 character. With Sora, Shantae, and 2B as my curve balls.

I'd love too. If I remember correctly, I think I posted a moveset if my character on here some time ago. It'll definitely help us understand why our favorite characters are so near and dear to us.

Later in the night: Crash Bandicoot trailer is teased. Turns out to be a Smash reveal. Crash (and Coco as a free echo) is formally announced as the first fighter of Fighter Pass 2.
