The dlc characters were decided in November, 2018.

You know what I want right now with all of this going on?

A huge pizza, but one of those that has cheese inside the crust.

I could as well kill the time until Thursday by looking for one of those at every pizzeria on my island. Because they seem quite rare to find over here.

Yeah, I get that, but we still got :ultbanjokazooie: when everyone thought we'd have no fan favorites in the Pass. So I suppose even if the first few characters aren't promotions, Sakurai could still sneak one in. I can't tell you whether it's likely or not (I don't think anyone can answer that), but the possibility is there.

Honestly, it's not that I think Verge is full of it, I'm just honestly done with the "Guess Who" game.

At this point, I'm betting on Phoenix not even because of leaks, but because I honestly just really, really want him. At the end of the day, none of us know who it's gonna be and are guessing anyways, lol.

What you people need to do is honestly not take a side on all of this, and just wait for the Game Awards to come and solve everything.

I basically did that with Grinch but then didn’t do it with Google Theory. Which one of the two do I remember worse? Google Theory.

This whole debacle would likely not happen or at least be taken as such a horror if we just left the people from both fronts comment whatever they think and we just went with an open mind to the Game Awards.

Here's the thing about the guessing game, it's fine if you want to do it a month or so before a reveal. But 5 or so days close to a reveal? At that point it's hard to care about it. I dunno what Verge and Sabi think they're achieving but unless they drop a name none of what they say will really matter, most people will just choose to wait for the game awards instead of giving them more attention.

Smash Ultimate has a wonderful roster. I know we're all tense waiting for news, so let's try to be polite to each other. Although the last hours had been tough, it has been a fun ride, so let's talk about characters we want to be included. For me, there's only 5 characters left to be in, although i think some of them will never happen:

1. Gordon Freeman (Valve)
2. Scorpion (Netherealm Studios)
3. Leon S. Kennedy (Capcom)
4. Lara Croft (Square Enix)
5. Rash (Microsoft)

If this ever happens, this would be it it, i'd never ask for anything else again. What characters you want included so it can become the perfect Smash game?

I think Travis would be the coolest option out of the currently prominently discussed characters. I can’t remember if Vergeben disconfirmed him or not, but who cares at this point.

Dodrio would be a pretty odd choice for a new Pokémon character but I’d be down for it.

Yes, that is indeed the joke I was making.

Unfortunately, it is sort of inevitable for stuff like this to happen as you pretty much said. Nothing you can really do to change it with how emotionally invested some people will always get.

So, the two big theories are "the deconfirms are real" and "the deconfirms are leakbait."

Honestly, though, I wouldn't be surprised if the big name public leakers' sources were simultaneously
  1. not lying
  2. a distraction from who #5 actually is
Like, because it's really funny how deconfirming a bunch of characters, no matter how many, genuinely does not help smash speculators narrow down who #5 is. It causes panic and confusion and people doubting the leakers. and that's true even if every single deconfirm is real. Even if literally everything both leakers said pans out, the damage will have been done for them.

Is that the likeliest outcome? No, not really. Is that the funniest outcome? I think so. I think that'd be friggin' hilarious.

Best we can do is try and stop things getting too toxic.

Remember that everyone has different criteria for believing in leaks and until the reveal happens, everyone is just as correct.

Crimson flower was my first route... then i went for golden deer which i'm just finishing now since i went on a full recruit and support farm (it has taken a ton of time DX). While certainly i love Claude and is by far the saner person in all fodlan, Golden eer route made me want edelgard even more... I also loved her in golden deer... the last cinematic murdered me.

on teh other hand, in that rote Dimitri was completely nonconsequential and even Dedue was more relevant DX....
