Although somethin interesting that happened lately with the RE spirits and Sakurai comments, I'm getting the feeling the end of Ultimate DLC has been decided already, maybe enough for another pass but Im certain there's an end set already.

Sakurai might want some flexibility here - it's certainly possible, as said, that Sakurai and Furukawa have set an "Early possible end date" and any possible plans after that end date being gravy and up to if Sakurai wants to. What honestly bugs me is Sakurai stating that he wants to add as much as possible (at the Banjo presentation) - although it's certainly possible that end date is the limits or he's simply changed his mind.

Won't call anything definitive until Sakurai says something conclusive such as "This is the end". Whenever that happens. Could be 3 characters, could be more.

Does anyone agree the deconfirmations by Vergeben and Sabi is misinformation at this point? I definitely think so.

Verge feels like he's getting hardcore baited, but I'm a little more skeptical on Sabi. I just want whoever the source she has is to just say the character they heard already so we can get this deconfirmation garbage over with.

I did watch the Game Awards last year...

...my reactions did cause quite the noise over here.

Thankfully all of that and what caused it is in the past and this year it won’t happen again doh.

Smash X Hollow Knight ?

Man I'd love to see the Knight in Smash (or Hornet). I don't think it's impossible i mean, Hollow Knight was a massive success (relatively speaking) and Nintendo seems to be on good terms with Team Cherry (not that it means anything but still... it could help). There's a lot of material in the game to make a great Smash moveset for the Knight and even if Silksong isn't out yet, i think there's more than enough stuff to make a good one for Hornet as well.

So without further ado, here's my in depth analysis on why the Knight or Hornet would fit all the criterias to be in Smash:

I think we're taking the Geralt/book thing to silly levels. Who here is literally going to look at Geralt from the Witcher series and react to him like, "OMG IT'S GERALT FROM THE WITCHER NOVELS!!!!!!!"

Like no. We're not idiots. We're going to recognize him as the video game dude, as shown with his many crossovers like in Soul Calibur 6.

That doesn't change the fact that he is ineligible because he debuted as a novel character. Agumon is in a similar situation, albeit in reverse.

Book Geralt now has to compete with Henry Cavill's Netflix Geralt, who based his performance and characterization off of video game Geralt.

Every time I see Nicalis do something with Cave Story I’m forced to remember just how scummy they’ve been with Pixel.

Reminder that Isaac players on Xbox One only recently got Afterbirth+ almost 3 years after the expansion first released
PS4 and Switch players also had to wait nearly a year for the last update for AB+
Also the 3DS and Wii U versions are still base Rebirth and crash frequently though I can excuse those two

That's what makes Geralt such a gray area, IMO. Does he think that the origin of the character is more important then the most populat adaptation of that character?

Another example would be a character like Saber. Sure she originated in video games, but she is primarily known from FATE's anime adaptation.

IMO, you can't say Geralt makes complete total sense, and then say so does Saber. They are kind of like 2 characters who are in such a huge gray area, but you can only make sense of them 1 at a time.

I personally think Sakurai values origins more then the most popular format the character appears in. This makes Saber a possibility, but makes Geralt extremely unlikely.

If Vergeben's deconfirmations are true, then Quote is the only character that makes sense considering his legacy as a indie character and his connections with Nintendo.
