Also is it possible that whoever verges source is is wrong about KOSMOS? That 1 4chan leak has been right so far, other then these shown at the VGAs. Maybe verges source thinks KOSMOS is a monolith soft rep, which verge hasnt deconfirmed i think.

Its already known said source with the cat image was piggybacking on others.

Yeah, i'm not feeling Sony or EA. The former would be really hard to work with and the latter I really REALLY hope Nintendo doesn't work with.

So I think it boils down to Quote or Madeline. Quote coming from a Japanese series might give him the edge here but Madeline is a big underdog pick people are sleeping on.

2. I do think Daisy is out of place in that picture, but I wouldn't necessarily build a theory around it.
3. I can't see a better time to do a reveal than the game awards. Any other time feels...awkward.
4. I'm telling you guys we're getting Dovahkiin. The Cacodemon Mii costume will be accompanied by a Doomguy costume, too. (Save this post for when I become a leaker due to being so accurate.)

Literally the first thing I woke up to this morning is pretty much every potential candidate ****ing dying. I genuinely don't have a goddamn clue who it could be anymore? Are Kratos and Geraldo Witcherman really the main frontrunners for this *****? Will we get something unexpected like Cooking Mama or CJ. Will Katalina actually win this time? Or is it actually one of the disconfirmed characters and we were all out here being made fools of this entire time. Regardless, it's gonna be fascinating to see how things pan out in the coming days.

TBH, i'm just looking forward to this being all over. All these deconfirms have really killed my hype for Fighter 5.

Verge is saying no Bethesda entirely, so that might not be the case for FP5.

Just now seeing everything, but from what I've read we've seen some pretty crazy developments overnight.

Basically every single major developer has been shot down, no promotions (I could have told you that) and double dipping (as I suspected). Bethesda is out, Capcom is out, well, those are the two largest developments imo based on how large they are in the minds of Ultimate discussion.

Kinda sorta leaves far fewer picks, but I wouldn't expect EA or Sony, personally.

Leaves us, potentially, with Geralt from the Witcher. Despite never playing the game itself, I think that'd be badass.

Why is Kosmos so ****ing weird in the pass speculation?!? We have connections with a goddamn Rex mii costume, a possible cat predictor, a random TGA 4chan post that seemingly predicts the future, no Namco mii costumes, Sabi’s source leaving during the Namco speculation debates, a Daisy connection that’s so oddly specific in a official smash dlc picture... What the hell is going to happen next?

At this point I think F5P is eitheir Saber or Katalina(or any character from GB: F, I guess...), Travis (But I think Verge shuould clarify if he counts him as a Marvelous character...if he's allowed to)...
And that's it. The only other option plausible option imho is that Verge and/or Sabi are dead wrong about one of these disconfirmation, and we get a Namco character or something I think it would be best to take with a massive grain of salt whatever future leak they come up with.

EDIT: I forgot about Geralt, sorry. I see him as the only possible Western rep going with all these disconfirmation honestly. I just don't see Nintendo or Sakurai wanting to work with company like EA or Rockstar, but that's just me.

Hi Smashboards, been following this thread for a long time now so thought I'd finally make an account to throw in my thoughts here. I'm a little shy but after these confirmations I thought I should join in at last.

So it seems in my view I think it's going to come down to very few series. A shame as I had my hopes for Sakura Shinguji or KOS-MOS.

About 6 possibilities I think.
1. Saber
2. Geralt
3. Sony Rep (Please be Kat, Please be Kat or even Kratos.)
4. A "Nintendo Backed" Indie Rep.
5. Rockstar
6. Idea Factory

My money is on Saber now but I'm really going to be disagreeing heavily on someone like a FNaF rep or Minecraft if those could be deconfirmed. I remember seeing a post about the former being it but it's clearly fake cause I know you guys would have speculated on it from the dime drop. (it was about two weeks ago)
In fact it was a dream about Freddy or Sam from Death Stranding being it that also made me post here,

While it's true that videogame Geralt could be considered a different interpretation from the one of the books, he's still a book character and his origin comes from there.
I mean, even if videogame Geralt has some differences, The Witcher games are sequels from the books. Books and games aren't different universes or something like that. In the games Geralt and other characters talk about previous events from the books and more, for example.

As much as I love The Witcher 3 he's not a videogame character, so according to Sakurai himself, the White Wolf is not eligible.

The new cat leak isn’t deconfirmed by anyone or anything. It’s basically dependent on who is revealed as the fifth fighter.

The thing is that Geralt officially started out as a book character.
And not a character that was created to promote games a la ROB and Lucario; The Witcher was a book first and foremost.
You could argue that Dracula was also a non-videogame character, but at least dracula was in the public domain.
Sure his video game self has surpassed his book self in terms of popularity, and he is inarguabley more well known as a video game character; but putting Geralt in Smash is kind of like taking a step closer to putting Goku in Smash.

While I'm not against it; it would open a TON of gray areas of who could get in Smash.

To be fair, despite being public domain, Dracula isn't a video game character by origin either, yet he's a boss in Smash.

There's also the fact that, according to others I've spoken to, the author of the books doesn't like the games, nor does he consider "video game" Geralt a character within his stories.

At the very least Geralt isn't like Goku in that he's not entirely one or the other. He's from a video game while his series is based on the books. To my knowledge, anyway.
