So this happened:

Apparently there's a holiday pack for My Nintendo members with the title "A New Prize has appeared!" that can be won through a lottery and the contents will probably be revealed... on the 12th.

Could mean nothing or could be that the entire Pass will be offered as a prize here. In that case, it makes sense to reveal the last character in the same day.

It could mean nothing. The cover of the video didn't state Smash or anything. Or probably I was seeing things.

It would make more sense to do something like that where you get the prize the day the character is released. Doing it the day a character is revealed is a little strange.

Pauline from Mario and the Baby Metroid.

I have quite some good ideas for the moveset of both.

I would unironically like the baby metroid... it would go all "skreeee" on the enemies <3

If you check the official rules for that sweepstakes, the Smash Bros. prize is as follows:

"Day 8: one (1) winner will receive one (1) download code for the Super Smash Bros. Ultimate game (ARV $59.99 US), one (1) Opposuits Men’s Merry Mario Suit (adult size Small – Extra Large) (ARV $119.99 US) and one (1) Opposuits Boy’s Merry Mario Suit (child size Small – Extra Large) (ARV $79.99 US); "

So nothing to get excited about. A Smash reveal is possible at the Game Awards, but the fact that this sweepstakes has a Smash Bros. prize on the same day could just be a coincidence, since none of the other prizes seem to tie into anything.

I will main the X-Parasite, the Diggernaut, the Zebesian, the Chozo Statue, Samus’s Gunship, Young Samus, Adam Malkovich, Little Birdie, Phantoom, the Cetacea, King Slime, Dracky, Golem, the Great Sabrecat, the Liquid Metal Slime and Hero’s Comrades.

On the topic of non-combatant newcomers in Smash, I saw a few people mention Professor Layton's name for an non-combatant but I would like to add that while the gameplay of his series is focused on puzzles, Layton himself is canonically an adept fighter and he gets into life threatening situations all the time.

Layton never goes into a situation looking for a fight and never carries a weapon, but through out his adventures he is forced to defend himself using improvised means, such as using a lead pipe in a fencing duel or building an entire machine gun out of a slot machine when getting shot at by mobsters.

Sony State of Play coming on December 10th. Apparently that's where the Resi 3 Remake will be shown off.

Nothing really relevant to Smash but it's something to think about while waiting.

That first gif should totally be recreated with Captain Falcon instead of the goon in Layton's trailer somewhere if he where to make it into Smash, I don't care how, it just should.

2. Bring in a good amount of new characters
3. Give the game enough Single Player content including some arcade endings
4. Bring back the Fox characters
5. Don't forget Mega Man in some manner
6. Use the original themes of the Marvel characters and not the generic modern movie score mess they got stuck with in Infinite
7. Use Infinite's combat sytem, it worked at least.
