Random shower thoughts time.
It's funny to me how, when we were all discussing a potential EVO reveal, we all thought it would make the most sense for the fighter to be from a fighting game, given the obvious nature of the event. When nothing came, we all pretty much wrote off the idea of fighter 4 being from a fighting game.
...and then fighter 4 was from a fighting game.
So a bit of a question for you all. Do you think it would have been "smarter" to have revealed Terry at EVO rather than the direct a month after? While the gap for fighter 5 would have been even more agonizing, I think it was very much a missed opportunity. The September direct had MORE than enough to sink our teeth into with Banjo shadow dropping, homerun contest, the meme skeleton, and confirmation that fighter 5 wouldn't be the end of character DLC.
Terry got overshadowed fairly hard by the casual audience. Imagine if he had gotten revealed after grand finals of EVO, the final event of the night, and the "main" game at that. People ACTUALLY freaking out as that invitation slipped by the hands of so many SNK characters. The crowd absolutely ERUPTING. From the community that holds each and every traditional fighter on the same pedestal as each other, at least mostly. I think it would have been absolutely brilliant, and would have gotten a lot of people talking more than the "who?" He got instead. Preaching to the right choir, and all that.
I dunno. What do you think? Would that still have been showing their hand too early?
