Although I'd rather not have two Links in the same game again, it does make sense. I really would like to see Sakurai incorporate masks from MM into YL's specials, just anything to make him different from just a faster, weaker version of normal Link.

I guess, I mean does it really matter? I just don't really see the difference between the two characters. To me and I see is the same character with a graphical change. Remember this is IMO, so whatever Sakurai does to the effect of this matter is whatever.

None of the games we've gotten are ports. As a matter of fact, there are no ports in the series, just remakes of FE1 and 3 (FE11 and 12). "Fire Emblem" for the GBA is FE7, Blazing Sword, it just doesn't have a subtitle for whatever reason lol.

But you're definitely right about it being fairly new in the states. FE7 is the first game in the series to be translated, and aside from FE9, the games have been poorly advertised in the US, at least.

To be honest, I don't see FE getting more than two reps, at least not until one of Nintendo's big guns gets another rep, like DK or MEtroid.

For the most part, Ike has gotten quite popular being that he's already had two games released here in the U.S., but as far as the series goes, it definetly needs more representation, sone that cone to mind are Ashnard, Macaiiah, Black Knight, and possibly a character from past series, it could work similar as they did with Roy, but he was simply fir promoting the series.

Yeah, IMO that character that Pit was traveling with has the most likely shot of being a second Kid Icarus rep, though I still think that it should be a one-representative series.

Well, Miyamoto did say in an interview 2 or 3 years ago that he was disappointed in the sales of the newer Star Fox and F-Zero games. I think by re-releasing Star Fox 64 (which is by far the most popular game in the series) he is hoping to resurrect interest in the series (especially in Japan).

Since F-Zero never had a game that was extremely successful in terms of sales (aside from F-Zero for the SNES and Maximum Velocity for the GBA, both of which were launch titles), the F-Zero series got overlooked for a port resurrection. However, a 3DS port of F-Zero X with the 64DD Expansion Kit extras would be great.

On a side note, I keep hearing a rumor that Star Fox 64 3D is the beginning of a series reboot. If that is the case, then Krystal can very much be erased from the series entirely.

Also, on the topic of character popularity to the series, interestingly enough, Slippy is the fourth-most popular character of Star Fox in Japan, with Leon in fifth. Krystal and Peppy are supposedly tied for popularity. I guess Japan simply likes flamboyant annoying characters, which explains their interest in Tingle.

Starfox is still doing well and I doubt they will discontinue the series unless the new game is a total bust (which I seriously doubt). Starfox Command sold a lot and had many positive reviews despite is unusual timed gameplay (It might have been easier with a manual). Miyamoto is just trying to make Starfox as popular as Zelda and Mario which he does with every game.

Do you really think Slippy would do well in Smash? I mean he can't even hold his own in the starfox series. I don't understand Leon because he as been nothing but a sidekick to Wolf and has played no major part other then a guy that you shoot down. Peppy has lost his popularity because he has gotten older and isn't in the action as much. He does play a lot of key roles and that's why I put him above Krystal. Then again can you imagine him being playable either? He's retired from flying because he's so old so I'm sure fighting is smash is less instense.

Toon Link really hasn't been replaced yet though. Spirit Tracks was just released in 2009 and Toon Link has basically been the face of the portable Zelda games since 2003. Either way, it's really of no consequence to me as long as they keep at least one "Toon themed" Zelda stage. Otherwise I'd prefer Toon Link to stay if only because of the difference of his graphic style with regular Link.

So I did some research and according to it, I found that 50% (Eight out of sixteen) of Ninja Gaiden games have appeared on Nintendo's system. Compare that to the Metal Gear Solid series (Of which Snake represent) in which only five out of sixteen games have appeared on Nintendo platform. That's less then 1/3 of the games.

From this, while this doesn't mean Ryu Hyabusha is going to stand a strong chance of getting in the game, if a fourth third-party character in SSB4 sounds likely (Which as of right now, it doesn't), make sure to keep this character in mind. That's all I'm going to say in the matter in regards to a potential fourth third-party character for now, thought. Until a 3rd third-party character is confirmed to be in the game and we get solid evidence regarding a fourth third-party character, it should be an afterthought. It's Nintendo characters we should be discussing.

That I certainly can see happen. Since I don't think Zelda needs any more rep, we'll either see Toon Link, Young Link, or just three Zelda characters in the next Smash.

Honestly, I would love to see Fierce Diety Link in the next Smash as a full playable character as it's the best way to make Young Link more then just an inferior clone of Link. That said, I'd be okay if it was just a Final Smash.

I totally agree it needs more rep, as I love FE. I'm just saying that I don't think it'll get more reps before other more established franchises do. You never know, though, no one who works for Nintendo ever makes predictable decisions and products.

TL is the only character in this game that I'll legitly call a clone.

Young Link was just a throw-away clone like Pichu and Dr. Mario. I seriously doubt it was even considered for a second having all three of the Links in at once.

Yeah... let's not turn this thread into a bandwagon critique of Rosalina supporter's typing... For all we know it could just be some 12 year old kid that wants to kill a few hours during his/her summer break so just let him/her be unless he/she gets obnoxious with his/her posts and then a MOD can take care of it. People like that will start coming in here in droves after next year's E3 no doubtedly shows a SSB4 trailer so you might as well start developing thick skin and saint-like paitence now.
