I have a B moveset:

B: Timeshift Orb. A magical orb like attack that when struck, slows the enemy for Impa like the Timer item, but for a shorter amount of time. Need to be charged up like the Needles Sheik has, and travels about as fast but it has slightly less reach, and does no damage on impact, but it's very useful nonetheless.

Side B: Sheikah Barrier. A magical attack where Impa blocks /wards of any type of attack. In a way similar to Zelda's Nayru's Love, as it can also reflect projectiles, but only when the barrier is at full strenght (the damage from the projectile would still apply on the barrier). It can take up to 40% damage, and like the Wario Waft it's a building up move. When pressing B while using the move, Impa counters, and does a little damage, plus enough hitstun for her to attack again. If the Barrier takes more than 40% damage for Impa, effect is like a shield break.

Up B: Vanish. Like Sheik's. Basically the same thing. (Open to change this for a better idea)

Down B: This is either warping into Zelda, tag team-like, or if Impa is separate; the Deku Nut. Works like the item in Brawl, but does no damage or knockback like it does in Brawl, only stunning.

Extra gimmick: when Side B is fully loaded it appears on stage as big as almost 1/6th of Brawl Final Destination and puts Impa in a fixed position untill the barrier is completely destroyed (percentage would be 80% to maybe up to 120%, I dunno yet). Untill then you play as Zelda to guard Impa (if she's hit from behind the barrier stops if Impa tales more than 10-15% damage) and rank up damage with Din's Fire easily. Zelda goes back to the background once Impa recovers fully. Either by breaking it yourself with a reflective cutting attack (think Zelda's B, but stronger as the barrier gets the stronger this to gets) with Down B, or when the barrier breaks and Impa gets hit.

I really have to think of something for Zelda's Down B though...

For now I'm thinking of a Goddess Harp summon like attack, that puts Zelda in a harp playing vurnable position charging up an attack, where you control as Impa warding enemies of. Think PK Starstorm, but one hit that generally follows the opponent.

:phone:
And I'm picturing Impa for the most part completely different from Sheik in moves, much like in a way they did it with Mewtwo and Lucario. Therefore I'm more suggesting this as a Toon Zelda / Toon Sheik like addition. If they keep the current roster including Zelda and Impa that would work to. Link would be all around, all games inspired Link, Zelda / Sheik for OOT stuff, Gdorf all inspired if they can, Toon Link more Luigified, and this new Zelda an almost half clone in B and A moves as Link / Toon Link where before, but with her own stats and a more stable gameplay (less power, more speed). Impa would then be a sort of Lucario- like Sheik in her A moves and aerials, but jump and weight exactly like Sheik mostly. It's the most conservative way to get them in still, and bring in two new characters instead of one. Plus, it would fit perfectly.

:phone:
My ideas need more love.

Green and ORANGE, dummy.

How would a Pikmin AT work? Especially if Bulborbs remain as stage elements. Louie controlling an ARMY of Pikmin? Get in the way and a bunch stick to you?
Two ideas of mine are Louie riding the Titan Dweevil and using the various parts (Fire->Water->Electric->Poison) in succession to attack the stage, and the Burrowing Snagret, which would pop up at a random place in the stage and attack with its beak, trapping and hurting the foe, and finally toss them.

Nintendo's systems will be much easier to detect stuff, having more memory for updates, Homebrew might not be possible.

But then again... I'm probably wrong.

Also I decided to play the metroid games to see Ridley, currently I have the trilogy and Other M downloading, are there any more I should get?

I was thinking a Pikmin AT would be one of the enemies you fought in the games. I'd get more specific, but I can't remember any of their crazy names. lol

As for the Pikmin colors I'd guess: Green (Parasitic) and Black (Night Time?).

I bet the green one would have a tail like a lizard, because lizards are green, and the orange one would have wings, because oranges have wings.

Oh man.

Pikmin breeding.

Maybe a way to spice up Diddy's banana play perhaps?
Diddy's banana peels are fine, other than having a bit too much stun (to setup infinite chain grabs).
So like
I missed the bus
Then wavedash home sun! You get more miles per gallon of gas! :awesome: Your shoes might be a little burt afterwards though. ;) :reverse: :smirk: :chuckle:
That's because those titles are packaged with the Wii itself, then these people fail at ever buying any significant main title games.
That makes perfect sense then. Thanks for clarifying that. I was gonna say "man, either Wii Party 2 costs like 5 bucks new, or Japan is totally stupid!"
This. As I've said in the past, Smash Bros. has the biggest potential to be one of, if not the best fighting game out there thanks to its simplistic design that allows for an array of possibilities. Sakurai just needs to not suck at fighters so much (and I'm not talking about execution) and stop catering to scrubs so much to get the big picture. Besides, who WOULDN'T like the idea of following up their attacks instead of constantly having to chase the opponent? It's enough work as it is to land that first hit.
It's not Sakurai, it's Game Arts and the other developers, which was each of those company's first fighting game. this is why I want HAL Laboratories to be the primary developer, although I think Game Arts and the other 2 Brawl developer companies (not including Sakurai's company Sora) to also develop the game.

Also, Sakurai doesn't solely cater to scrubs. You do realize he invented L-cancelling, all the special shield stuff, and kept wavedashing in Melee after discovering it right=??? The problem is, Sakurai has been carrying the series. Sakurai is literally doing too much. It's like watching Barry Sanders carry the Lions to wins all over again!

Besides, having the game catered to everyone as Sakurai has done is simply GENIUS! That is why each Smash Bros game has outsold the last (and why Melee and Brawl are the best-selling fighting games EVER), while other fighting game series have failed to reach sales of their heyday back in the 80's, 90's, or 2000's (some of which have died).

Other fighting games cater to the same group of people (mostly hardcore fighting game fans within who were born from 1980-1995 who have a fetish for button pushing) constantly. Often this group stops playing video games or gets bored. Recently, fighting game series have only added small fanbases to their series (which I might include is nearly entirely male), while their traditional fanbase slowly dies. Plus without appealing to certain age groups, eventually your fanbase will die. On top of that, fighting games don't appeal to other fanbases, aside from crossover fighting games appealing to fans of other fighters, or (for example) in the case of Marvel vs. Capcom, fans of a few Capcom series and of Marvel comics. Other than this, fighting games have largely ignored fans of other genres, which blocks them off to most gamers.

What Smash Bros does is it appeals to just about every age group, fans of multiple genres, and fans of games that aren't fighting games. Heck, many smash bros fans HATE other fighting games (and how complex they are just to do simple things like a common special move).

My sister hates nearly every video game, and thinks fighting games are stupid, but dang if she doesn't enjoy playing smash bros. The game is also designed for people to just jump in and play. What Smash Bros simply "is easy to learn, but hard to master." What Sakurai has done in smash... is simply GENIUS! He made a game so you could play it YOUR WAY!
New debate: can Impa and Sheik coexcist in Smash?
For once you brought up an interesting thought on Impa. I say yes, because Impa could easily be a clone of Sheik (as a late add on?), which is the only way Impa gets in IMO.

That is actually a good idea, but what would the green and orange one do? Since the red resist fire, yellow flies in an arc, blue can delve in water, etc.

Maybe orange can resist...radiation? And Green can perhaps use barbed spikes to latch onto foes without falling off, but do less initial damage?

Hey, I'm liking the idea for the green Pikmin. Another ideas for the green Pikmin is they could attach to walls or vines when thrown and crawl along them to reach things.

Since Oasis proposed orange Pikmin having wings maybe orange Pikmin can fly in the air when thrown. They could attack skyborn enemies or reach other types of obstacles.

Green-Grow faster(lots o' chlorophyll), Glide for short distances(extra chlorophyll gives them two leaves on their heads)

Orange-Immune to explosions, Ability to carry bomb rocks(since yellows can't anymore)

Anybody think Sakurai will make it so there's a Rosalina and Daisy skin that actually have different outfits/hair?

Same with Lucas and Claus, it's easily doable now.

That was a rather remarkable; I applaud to your response.
Though I agree that the simplistic design allows a a newcomer to perhaps jump in and play a good game; however, it's the desire to master the game that's left in the field for those to take, much like other games of that nature. Sure, I don't mind playing a good round of smash with my buds and see if they can feat my skills and whatnot. And that's essentially why I enjoy Smash brothers in general as well.

(I've lurked since pre-Brawl, but I thought it'd be fun to get in on the discussion this time.)

New debate: can Impa and Sheik coexcist in Smash?

:phone:
I'm much more agreeable to this than your replacement idea. Sheik shouldn't and probably won't be going anywhere anytime soon, so if Impa gets in that's how I'd do it. Impa vs. Sheik might actually be pretty cool.

Since this is my first post, maybe I should ask first: would it be too soon to post my roster concept, or should I get some more "cred" so to speak?

Don't argue with me, Star.

Though jetpack to helicopter sounds kind of like a downgrade.
Arguing? I'm helping you flesh out your ideas. Also, the Pikmin need ears or something. Every Pikmin has their own head features. For the orange Pikmin I like the idea of leaflet wings being flapped in the air.

Yellow has ears.

Tail and wings was the answer to "what more can they add?" They have all the things you'd have on a head. Eyes (White), Hair (Purple), Nose (Red), Ears (Yellow), Mouth (Blue). I mean. What more do you want? Chin? Cheekbones?

TIME TO MOVE ON TO BODILY THINGS. Thus, tails and wings.

Don't care what green does, just has to have a tail.

There's always been a debate in the FG communities whether or not Smash is a fighting game.
...Umm... who gives an eff what a bunch of Dungeons and Dragons nerds think=??? Maybe this is my jock side coming out (I was one until I developed a medical condition that physically limited me), but man, I never will let a bunch of nerds who live with their mothers at the age of 26 working at Burger King and devout their entire personal lives to electronic toys telling me what something is or isn't.

I love gaming, but it doesn't define me as a person like with a lot of these Street Dorks tend to do. A lot of these guys are keyboard warriors that are just mad because they don't got a daddy like all the other prostitutes and strippers of the world!
I, myself, call it a fighting game because I've called it such since I was 9 (am 21 now). It may not have health bars and K.O.s are strictly ring-outs, but your things like zoning, footsies, and mixups are still in Smash. I mean, if you want a compromise, it's a platform fighter, but just about every major videogame news site calls it a fighting game.

For this comment in particular, I think the reasoning is heavily biased.
Meah, I don't care if Smash Bros. is a "fighting game" or not. Besides' "fighting game" refers to something with "fighting" and there definitely is "fighting." The question or not is if it fits these Street Fighter's view of what a fighting game should be (and quite frankly, what they say means about as much to me as what a dead squirrel says), It's a fun game series with competitive depth. Period. But regardless, you do raise good points Kuma. Thank God you are a serious Street Fighter fan and not one of those elitists losers.
Sin and Punishment
Golden Sun
Punch Out
Wii (maybe)
Probably some retro series or something we do not frequently think of.
I agree that any of these series could get a character (along with Takamaru and maybe Lip).
I think it should be able to let go of the stage like in Melee, keep the fix ledge actions, bring back melee ledgesnaps, and the brawl no being able to regrab the ledge whenever you feel like it
Agreed. I always felt in Melee you could grab the edge again too quickly. It didn't really effect the Melee gameplay or balance too much, but if it were in Brawl, people would just stay on the edges all day. It is better off and would work more simply in most physics and gameplay balance in the way you described.
Pac-Man would be amazing
Agreed. After Snake, Sonic, and Mega Man, he is the 3rd party character I think who is the most likely. And out of all potential 3rd party newcomers that aren't Mega Man (great chances), Knuckles (no chances), and Geno (small odds), he is the 3rd party character I want the most.
