I don't understand what's gross, but anyways, I agree. Wario sorta fits the Mario catagory: Doesn't require a rep.
Wrooooooonnnnnnnnngggg. I don't care if you don't think/want a Wario rep, but he is NOT a Mario character anymore. He most definitely has distinguished himself as his own series.

Something even the Yoshi series never did too well.

OH, and I'm glad Famicom Detective Club got a song~

Uhhuh, new page. I was looking at the laboratory stage and it struck a bell. Hasn't it been suggested before? Did you post it a while ago, perhaps?

Ahh well, it's good work. :)

If the pipes don't hurt the players, perhaps the stage could be a counter pick. I'll check it again to make sure.

*EDIT* Yeah, checked it again, the squishing thing could be annoying. But still could have a chance. Not sure about this one... Thoughts?

Also, i'll probably be on and off for a while, i'm actually at a friend's house atm so trying to keep track of myself, my friend, and his 2 young brothers who have suddenly taken a huge shine to me. ^^

Oh I thought you guys were talking about the Wario series being gross.

I wasn't paying much attention to other posts. Sorry.

AFK I'm working on some homework.

@Luco: I'm pretty sure people have suggested it before. But I believe that I posted that way back in September before anyone was asking. Also the pipes do hurt players.

Hey there sw. ^^

@---: Yeah I see what you mean. Should really have this one decided by other players. As for the stage itself, it looks good. Would be really epic to see what the Wii-U graphics do to it. :-P

Here's some more:

Take to the streets of Central City with City Escape.

Overall a simple walkoff stage taking place at a 4 way intersection. Platforms are made out of construction equipment and building highrises.

The main gimake, of course, is the G.U.N. Truck that patrols the streets reaking hoavic on the stage itself.

As every once in a while the truck will ram itself into the stage destorying any platforms in it's path and causing major knockback to players that are runover. It comes out of the background, and either side of the stage, it can also make some amazing jumps so even the upper portion of the stage isn't safe from road rage.

The platforms do reform back to their original stage over a set amount of time, of course.

Stage Name: City Escape
Stage Icon: Sonic's Head

Stage Example:
xxx________xxxx
__/xxxxxxxxx\___
___xxxxxxxxx____
_______________

Tracks:
Sonic Adventure 2 - City Escape
Sonic Generations - City Escape ~ Classic
Sonic Adventure - Emerald Coast
Sonic the Hedgehog ('06) - Crisis City
Sonic Heroes - Metal Madness (Final Boss)
Sonic & Knuckles - Doomsday Zone
Sonic CD - Stardust Speedway
Sonic and The Black Knight - Knight of the Wind
Sonic Colors - Planet Wisp
Sonic 2 - Casino Night Zone
Sonic Adventure 2 - Live & Learn (Brawl)
Sonic Adventure - Open Your Heart (Brawl)

This would be so banned. It's pretty much Mario Circuit on steroids. lol

The mother ship of the PMC company, Outer Heaven, Liquid Ocelot's submersible battleship, Outer Haven appears!

Being such a huge local, one can expect for this stage to be rather large. Similar to Castle Siege, fighters shall move from one part of the ship to the next fighting each other and the stage's many safeguards against intruders.

Main Deck: The starting spot, it is walk-off-able and there are no hazards. Gekkos and Frogs that patrol the area can be seen in the background along with Rex's Rail Cannon. Screaming Mantis will eventually appear and will shift the stage to the next location.

Command Center: Yet another basic part of the stage, Screaming Mantis and Frogs can be seen in the background though. After a short amount of time Mantis will yet again shift the stage to another room.

Missle Hanger: A completely flat and walk-off-able part of the stage. Here you slowly move through the 1 room as the screen scrolls by. A horde of Dwarf Gekkos (Scarabs) appear in the background and will sometimes jump onto the stage. They're pretty slow and can be attacked, going down in 1 hit, but if you're not careful they can latch onto you and hold you in a throw animation, which is not good on a scrolling stage. The stage shifts again when you reach the microwave room, and you begin to see the GW server room.

Ship Exterior: The spot where Snake and Ocelot had their final battle. A basic square section of the stage, there are no hazards. The background is lit up with a sunset making this part of the stage very atmospheric.

Stage Example(s):

Main Deck:

Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker - Heaven's Divide

This could be neutral/counter-pick. There really isn't anything bad about it other than the side-scrolling section I added with the Dwarf Gekkos that can stun you.

I still have two more concepts to go. lol

"I Love perfume! stupid perfume....."

Actually Oasis, I wanted to comment on something you said the other day, about the Outsiders. Did you watch the old, good version? Or the new, horrible version? And I only roughly remember the poem, but I believe it goes something like:

Nature's first green is gold
It's hardest hue to hold
Then green becomes a flower
But only so an hour
Then leaf turns to leaf
So eden sank to grief
So morning turns to day
Nothing gold can stay

Good ole Robert Frost. ^^

That graphics bit in one of Luco's posts up there reminds me, I can't wait to see how detailed the character models are in Smash 4
Yeah, especially seeing as how detailed the brawl models were. :)

@---: Hmm, I can see that, although the walk-offs could be absolutely hideous for people who are liable for chain grabs from other characters. Lets hope the cast is a little more balanced this time, eh? :-P

As for the sonic stage, that road rage would be absolutely intense. I'd use an airy character and get up to the very top of the stage whenever I could :-P

I think it's better for Yoshi to remain his own series as more mario reps means less choices. Think about it. In any sense, it's true. :-P

@Luco: But as a Pika main I love my chain grabs. :3

One of the most iconic locations in video game history, Dr. Wily's Castle makes yet another appearance.

Unlike most conventional stages, in order to keep with the spirit of the MM series, the starting portion of the stage takes place within the Castle's Teleport room. Here you are able to select, if you want, to go to another part of the stage at your choosing by jumping on one of the eight pads.

Once one has been stepped on it then teleports the arena to the predetermined Robot Master stage set to that particular teleporter. Once selected you will stay on the stage for around one minute before you head back to the main room to repeat the process.

The Teleport Room itself is more open than it appears and lacks a ceiling and side walls in order to make moving around and killing her easier.

Elec Man: Here the infamous Magnet Blocks make an appearance. Depending on the order they're in, at a particular moment, they can often make it harder or easier to kill an opponent or easier to recover. Elec Man, of course, appears in the Background as well, but does no harm.

Metal Man: Here most of the stage is a large convaver belt. Metal Man appears in the background as well and he controls the direction the belt goes.

Shadow Man: Here drop away platforms make an appearance. They're pass-through-able so they don't make it harder to kill, although if you stand on them after a short second they drop you back down on the floor. So mastering them is key to be effective here. In addition, Shadow Man will occationally leap across and summon the Hologran enemy, which turns the stage black for a few seconds, preventing you from knowing where the edge is.

Ring Man: A basic stage. Above the main platform a Rainbow looking platform sits. Standing on the rainbow causes it to move making it easier to kill. Think of it as a moveable ceiling. Ring Man also appears in the background but he also does nothing.

Crystal Man: An open stage, here the main gimake is that at the top of the stage there are 3 garbage shoots that rain crystal projectiles onto the stage. Resulting in harder to recover. Unlike the original stage though, they don't rain down as fast. Crystal Man, of course, makes an appearance in the background but does nothing.

Flame Man: Similar to Metal, here the fight takes place in a large pool of oil. When standing in it, similar to being Metal, it reduces your jumping power and speed. Flame Man appears in the background, here he'll occationally light the oil on fire, resulting in large knockback for those who touch it.

Concrete Man: Another simple stage. Covering some of the pits in the stage are up and down blocks that when standing on them the move in the corisponding direction. So they can either carry you off or knock you off the stage so don't stand on them for too long. Concrete Man appears in the background, where he can switch the blocks in the opposite direction by jumping up and down.

Nitro Man: The only walk off stage of the eight. Here you must dodge on coming traffic. And like his stage you can jump on the on-coming vehicles, so the knockback is only in the front of the vehicle. Nitro Man will occationally appear in bike mode, to also run opponents down, although unlike other vehicles he can't be jumped on.

Elec Man:

By far my craziest idea, but for the most part it would depend on the stage that is selected. Most I believe I've made neutral, the rest being counter pick or banned.

Based on the first world from the latest Wario Land game, Ratl Ruins makes an appearance.

It's overall a rather basic stage that is around the size of PS2, the main gimmick would be the stone pillars on both sides of the stage, as they move up and down as the stage shakes. But since you can't shake the stage literally, similar to GHZ, the stage itself will take damage over time. Once the stage has been hit enough, the stage will shake and the pillars will change.

The pillars themselves are only 1/3 the size of the towers on SMI, so they do not hinder gameplay too much, but you will take a good amount of damage if you are stuck under a pillar as it moves. Bandineros can also appear on the stage, and in Wario Land fashion, you can jump on them (or shake the stage) and use them as projectiles.

Stage Example:

P = Pillar
x = blank space

xxxxx--------xxxxx
xxxxPxxxxxxPxxxx
xx___________xx
xx|xxxxxxxxxxx|x

Stage Name: Ratl Ruins
Stage Icon: W

Wario Land: Shake It - Stonecarving City
Super Mario Land 2: 6 GC - Wario's Castle
Wario Land: Super Mario Land 3 - Overworld
Virtual Boy Wario Land - The Misterious Caves
Wario Land 3 - Pure Rudy (Final Boss)
Wario Land 4 - Toy Block Tower
Wario Land 4 - Toxic Landfill
Wario World - Greenhorn Ruins
Wario: Master of Disguise - Cannoli
Wario Land Shake It - Mt. Lava Lava
Fossil Fighters Champions - BB Brigade Battle
Super Mario Land - Easton Kingdom (Brawl)

From what I'm told this would currently be banned due to wall infinites. I may change some of the stage mechanics though to at least make it counter pick.

That's the last of mine for now, too bad Star's not here, it would be fun if he joined in.

I would like to see that. Perhaps then they would be more inclined to give DK and Wario a new character? There's no reason for Yoshi to have his own logo anymore now that his heyday is gone.

Wall Clinging only adds to Brawl's super campiness, and only makes the game harder to watch and less exciting to play. I like the concept, but it needs to have some serious weakness (ie: when you wall cling you can't air dodge for a second).
Also, to hell with Kyle Williams!

You guys seriously need to cheer me up, because I am f***ing p***ed beyond belief. Tell me Ridley got accidentally confirmed... >.>
What happened? Personal life trouble? PM me if you want.

Also, nothing new. Just Diddy Kong continued his Impa crusade. We are going to have to wait until Kid Icarus Uprising is close to release before we have something new to talk about.

No, the 49ers lost because Kyle Williams had two punt return turnovers. Kids are taught to always protect the ball and be aware, and he wasn't aware. Not just did he allow the Giants to score a touchdown that ended up tying the game, but he turned the ball over IN OVERTIME!!! He lost the game being an idiot and trying to be more than he is. I IS P***ED! We had the Super Bowl right in front of our face and we lost our shot at it!!!

For those who want this put into smash terms and for those of you who don't know (America) football, it's like he died in a 2v2 game when his teammate had four against two foes had one, he stole one stock, KO'd his friend, SD'd, and his teammate died at the same as the foe, going into sudden death, and then he KO'd his teammate and SD'd again!

Edit: I need some Ridley hype to get me less upset.

Edit 2: That is some pretty peaceful music Luco...

JK: I know it's been posted a thousand times, but it's soft and it's calming and makes you think:

Crysta

@---: Those stages would be hard to implement (well, only the first one, it's so large when you think about it!) But they'd be fun to play. ^^

Also, when you did crystal man, it made me think of a potential DK stage. One sec...

Something with the same background as this:

Basically, an icy caves stage. Maybe something simple, although the floor would be slippery, like PS2's icy terrain.

I'm sorry Luco, but I'm not as Strong as you think I am. I just read The Outsiders because I had to in high school. I don't remember much, but I remember it, so it must have been good. And like, no one knew how to pronounce "Socs." Should have been a footnote or something.

What about a stage like this??

:phone:
I believe when Star did a DKCR stage he based it off of Sunset Shores, where the characters would have silhouettes like that. I think it would be really neat, but a pain to animate just for one stage so I'm not sure if they'd bother to actually do it.

Well, try watching the old movie. You'll see what I mean. :D

Yeah, Sunset Shores would be great, just it'd be really fun to have an icy stage like that too. Hmm... Whatever works, I suppose... Maybe I can ask star to try it out. :-P

You see how the shadows are on the Bridge of Eldin stage? Sunset Shores would probably be very similar to that in execution, but the shadows would be much darker. If it was done any other way, it'd take a lot more effort. Which I doubt they would do. :awesome:

And I saw the 1983 film, Luco? I think I remember the scene where Darry gets riddled with bullets not matching up to my vision of it in the book.

as for controlls, my best controls hybrid between the gamecube and classic controller, they should have the classic controller as "THEE" controller this time around, or have a classic controller, with it's stick and buttons rearranged and shaped to that of the gamecube

rels (similar to the stage's in brawl 2 of them, if the file doesn't get hacked to disable it, will flatten the models) will activate the sillouette effects

Luco went to Apex? I thought he was in Australia?

That's a long way to go, I'll have to ask him about it later. lol
I just saw this conversation. Ummm, I definitely didn't go to Apex, as much as i'd love to have been there. However, I have been going to tournaments. I'll put up some videos when I can, but it's taking some time to get them uploaded.

Hey guys, guess what's here again? That's right, stage number 5! I'm going with an idea that has more of a unique factor to it.

Coming straight from Donkey Kong Country Returns is the monochrome Sunset Shore! What is it about this stage that will be so unique? Here is the secret, just as Donkey Kong becomes a silhouette who's only source of color is the clothing on him. The same effect will be applied to every character within the stage! Examples; only Mario's overalls and hat will have color, Link's tunic, Pit's gold bracers, Samus' visor, Sonic's shoes, etc... Unfortunately Mr. Game and Watch won't see much change... Most items will be single silhouettes just like the bananas and coins were in DKCR. The silhouettes won't have the problem of blending into the background as the actual foliage that is shaded will be toward the top of the stage, not affecting items or characters below.

The stage itself will take place on a boardwalk with platforms on stilts that you hit to pop up. The stage itself will be a little bare basic, but the charm is in the design effects.

Stage example [the periods are only for spacing out how the platforms would be arranged]:
_.............._
....-...-...-...
--------------

Stage Name: Sunset Shore
Icon: Dk Symbol

Donkey Kong Country Returns - Sunset Shore
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Forest Frenzy
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Rickety Rails
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Factory Friction
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Aquatic Ambience
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Life in the Mines
Donkey Kong Country Returns - Golden Temple
Donkey Kong Country - Jungle Japes (Brawl)
Donkey Kong Country - The Map Page / Bonus Level (Brawl)
Donkey Kong Barrel Blast - DK Jungle 1 Theme (Barrel Blast) (Brawl)
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat - Battle For Storm Hill (Brawl)
Diddy Kong Racing - Hot Top Volcano

So hopefully this stage concept jig I have going is catching on. More importantly hopefully everyone enjoys the latest idea!
