He will be the Meowth of Smash 4 (meaning he will be a Pokemon that was far more requested during the previous Smash game, and his present support will still be a shell of its former self despite having a bit of relevancy at the time of development).

By "Deoxys 2014" I really meant, Remakes will be released 2014. Although I do believe if RS remakes DO result in a character, he's the best bet. Garde and May are good choices as well I suppose!


The third Gen never had a chance to be playable, and I think it never will be. Unfortunetly.

Keep in mind that Melee only had a second generation playable Pokemon due to Sakurai deciding that the roster was too small and that he had enough time left to make six clones.

The thing about Pokemon is that Sakurai has gone on the record to say that the Pokemon series is the hardest series to work with in terms of content due to the Pokemon Company determining a lot of the content.

Yup, considering Pokemon is very difficult to deal with in terms of character it could be said that Sakurai did and will have a tough time deciding between Pokemon.

She was not requested a whole bunch in Brawl's "poll" (which was not even a poll).

I own Earthbound (got it mint condition, complete in box for FREE ).

And yes, a yo-yo is an equipable weapon early in the game.

Sakurai not knowing Krystal epxains Wolf. He can't add a character he doesn't know. If Krystal was a legitmate contender, and actually had a chance in Brawl, we may have gotten her. She just never had the option. UNTIL NOW.

Wolf was popularly requested back during the Melee days, and was more requested than Krystal during the pre-Brawl days. It also helps that he made his debut in the only great game in the entire Star Fox series.

Star Fox is like the Lufia of Nintendo franchises (as in its a mediocre series, with an absolutely amazing second game in the series).

Well I have agree with the first part of that statement, although the pool is getting small Sakurai will mist likely be looking at lesser newer franchises that aren't represented in Smash as playable, probably before looking at a fourth Star Rep option.

Interesting. Although, I do wonder why they put Falco over him in Melee. Wolf, being a villian would have made more sense.

I've heard good things about Star Fox SNES (which I'll someday take a look at in my review blog). But yeah, that does make sense.

I think it was Miyamoto who said that Nintendo would cancel SF if 64 3D didn't sell well. So I'm not expecting any new character for SF right now for a pretty much dead series that is arguably already overrepresented.

Haha, I see this term is a little bit loose around here.

A character should be determined by popularity, demand, Sakurai's interest and most importantly what a said character merits and can offer, NOT by whose "deserving".

Prince Fluff should get in, not yarn kirby (if KEY gets rep). The game was supposed to be HIS! It wasn't even meant to be a Kirby game, and then that fat blob came and took Prince Fluff's unique title away from him! He would've been so much more likely had the game kept its course.

Why so? I'm surprised you would say such or even ask lol.. alot of people are against Dixie due to K.Rool but since Sakurai clearly showed interest in Dixie; I think it's safe to say she's been acknowledged and the fact that Rool is highly demanded further increases the odds of seeing both.
