18 player limit
not 18 player minimum
lol.

This game sounds terrible.

Not sure if server holders can actually reduce the player limit to 10, the server control is apparently pretty bad, seen servers with 12 player limit but yeah.

Whatever dude.

Pointing out the holes in his argument =/= being rude. If he prefers the wii to PC in terms of FPS that's his opinion, but he's stating it as fact lol

nah its cool to do that. its just the way people are doing it seem a bit rude...like his opinion is stupid. It's fine to disagree and all but yeah, theres a way to do it.

Basically I'm saying there's nothing to worry about when it comes to the controls with Wii FPS, in my opinion their better than PS3/Xbox360 controls in every way.
just btw tak.

Thats not what I was saying. I believe the PC is the best for FPS, however the next best thing is Wii and its a nice change from PC.

Why thank you Scoot :D

Anyway on topic, I haven't really come to the realization that these rumours about the Wii's successor having a touch screen controller are pretty credible. I don't know, it just doesn't sound good, but who knows, they could do something cool with it.

I think it could be utilised well, but as usual, there'd be way too many gimmicky games. You obviously cna't have a touch screen console as of yet. (note:console, not handheld) and this would be the way to do it.

I'm not trying to be rude to Ric. I like Ric.

I'm just seeing flaws in what he has said.

I also think that recommending Black Ops on Wii as an FPS, based on what has said...
Well it hasn't really won me over. I don't think his reasoning is up to scratch.

I'm just pointing these things out, I don't see how I am being rude to Ric.
I guess it was a bit abrupt how I told him I don't feel like talking about Black Ops on Wii
But that's just because I'm not interested in this conversation, sorry.

Also we're a bit off topic dont you think?

I'm sorry if you don't think my method of disagreeing is "the way to do it" Scott.
I'm sure you can enlighten me on this?

I'm interested in the capabilities of the touch screen.
I wonder if games could be played on the controller portably without the console
something I read made it sound like that was potentially true
it'd be nice.

If they are trying to appeal to the hardcore market, they want to rely on gameplay and the games, not on controller gimmicks, so whilst new hardware can definitely be used and shown off, it'd be poor form of Nintendo to over centralize this new hardware. It can definitely be put to use harmoniously though, and I'd like to see that done succesfully.

Even though im not quite sure what exactly all the new hardware will be.

if someone says something that is actually stupid, I'm gonna tell him that he's being stupid.
nothing rude about telling him the truth so he can learn to be less stupid.

if anything, it would be rude not to tell him, that way I'm positivly enforcing his bad habits.

shame on all of you

Yeah so basically I'm really bad at explaining why Black Ops Wii isn't too bad. So, if you're into FPS, try Black Ops Wii, muck around with the controls (because in my opinion the default controls don't cut it) and see what you think of it.

If you don't know of any places where you can hire games, take advantage of EB Game's flawed rules. Buy Black Ops Wii from them, try it, return it within 7 days and say either you finished the campaign or you didn't like it and they'll accept that.

Sorta on topic, I'm so hyped for E3!

To be honest with the touch screen rumours Im also very skeptical.
Please correct me if Im wrong on this one as my knowledge in the area is pretty ****.
Most factory standard bluetooth connections are not able to stream video to a device, thus the controller would have to be cabled or working on wifi, which is kind of hard to envision.

The other rumours of being able to play the game without the console are most likely entirely bs, I mean youd need a CPU, RAM etc in the controller, and if it's more powerful than the ps3...Yeah whatever....

The concept of a touch screen I can envision but it just makes me question production costs and how much Nintendo would charge for a new controller.

Oh and who cares what control scheme is better for Black Ops, it's a bad game

Oh dude! Your stating your opinion as though its a fact, you're gonna get eaten up.... Oh wait, you're name's not Richard......
theres also a time when complaining about being a victim is worse than actually being on the other side.

Luke taught me this.

So I've felt with all these rumours going around I'll spread one of my own

"Sources close to Nintendo Marketing have stated that they believe it would be in Nintendo's best interest to use the same style advert campaigns as used in the early 90's due to their success."

Come on guys, we all want it

I reackon if Nintendo wanted to get a lot of people's attention with their new console, Nintendo should "buy out" Activision and get them to ONLY release the next CoD on their console. Thats pretty much a guaranteed 15 millionish console sales. Either that, or fund an FF7 remake.

EDIT: Well, it would have to be the CoD that comes out in 2012, cus there's already a CoD being made for Xbox360 and PS3 for this year.

there has never ever been a single remake to date (at least that I'm aware of) that has ever supassed (how do you spell that) the original.

keep in mind also that the final fantasy team, that worked on final fantasy 1 through to 10, left square after 10 and formed their own company.
thats why there was a sudden drop in quality from 10 onwards.

a remake, without even the pro old team who know what they are doing, would be TERRIBLE.

look how much they changed and ruined clouds charater in advent children.
no no no.

John Davison famously called out WiiHD in 2011 about three years ago. It's just going to be that.

Nintendo is smart enough to realise that 360/PS3 are so entrenched right now, and there is nothing that can be done regarding the home console space to get both developers and consumers to move over to a new toy.

The industry is in an interesting position at the moment where nobody knows where it is going. Unlike previous generations, it is entirely up to the consumer where its all going. $1 app games and free facebook games are essentially the generation everyone is competing against.

Screen on a controller makes me laugh at its absurdity. If the Wii controller costs $40+ right now, imagine how affordable these mockups are. Not going to happen.

I look forward to eating crow.

SMB3 on SNES? :p

I don't really know the story with Square, but didn't they merge with Enix?

yeah, they did that too.
but big companys like that, are divided up into smaller teams that work on different games.
you cant just assume everyone in the company works on everything.
the team responsable for all the good stuff, left.
thats why they then merged with enix, and both companys became ****ter then when they were apart.

also, ok you found the inevitable exception to the rule.

thankyou mic, for clarifying that a merger of square and enix became square-enix, one of the biggest and best known companys in gaming.
good contribution.

they formed their own company called mystwalker, or something similar to that.

they made a game called blue dragon which I hear was pretty bad.
but then they made a game called losy oddessy, which is ****ing amazing.

that was some time ago though, I dunno what their recent efforts have been.

A couple of weeks ago I saw on the Wikipedia article of The Last Story it said that Nintendo have reconsidered releasing it in english. I can't remember whether or not there was a reference, so it could of been some guy that just edited the page because its been removed now.

I am proud to say that I ate crow on this. I'm a skeptic by nature, and this move by Nintendo makes almost zero sense. To go BACK into the hardware race is utterly confusing O___O

You could see that all their developmental lines have been on halt lately. Basically, Skyward Sword is going to the Project Cafe.

E3 isn't going to be as boring as I thought.
