It's true, there isn't any hitstun...YET. Currently, we're working on getting that into the game. BUT, we have to be careful. After all, Brawl's fighting system was never meant to have hitstun. We could possibly end up with a bunch of infinites and semi-infinites, Pit's arrows, Metabroke, etc.

The answer is a big fat YES. Gdorf and Falcon instantly get better with the hacks. There aerials no longer lag for a thousand years plus getting around camping is no longer that big of an issue for them.

Ugh, Brawl with wavedashing and L-Canceling... I'll try it for ****s and giggles, but if I want to play Melee I'll play Melee.

First off, it still doesn't feel like Melee. It has it's own distinct feel to it. Not to mention wavedashing is MUCH harder to do in brawl than in Melee. Also, the reason people are doing this is because they want a Melee-esque fighting game (ie wd, lc, etc) but with all the stuff brawl has to offer (new stages, updated graphics, new characters such as Wolf, D3, and Diddy, etc).

I also have another hack besides L-canceling as well, Sheild canceling. Unlike L-canceling (which only cuts half the lag off an aerial attack) Sheild Canceling cuts out all the lag off of an aerial attack (like smash 64's z-canceling). I would like to try both against a human opponent to see which is more suited for the game.

Mind games first were used to describe a single trick used against an opponent, but have since come to describe how a player thinks during an entire match. The only real difference between the top level players in the country are their mind games, in other words, the level at which they think and predict their opponents. Mind games are essentially a synonym for the less used term metagaming.

Mindgames are hugely misunderstood...especially in NM.

I posted that because I know some of you are going to come in here and say Neil has no mindgames.

Yea...cool. I was having a kinda bad day, so I didn't need anything with any possible negative connotations. It kinda set me off. Sorry, heh. But for the record I have played him a couple times, and he's got some VERY good tech skill.

THE SMASHFEST
All right, seeing as how I am "the premier New Mexico smashfest location," then I will indeed hold a smashfest. This smashfest will NOT be on my birthday and instead be on Saturday November 1st 2008. Here's what I'm planning on doing though. This fest will start on Saturday MORNING around 11:00 am (It'd be preferred that you come early for more smash time).
Afterwards, for my puberty-hitting age celebration, there will be a surprise depending on how many people show up. Depending on if this sexy surprise happens, we can all go at 7:00 pm and you all can leave late at night and go back home OR sleepover at my house till Sunday afternoon. FREE pizza (with pepperoni and animal products for all you carnivorous humans out there) and soft drinks and definitely some nice CHOCOLATE CAKE!!! Zomg no one can resist chocolate cake. You better come over.
RSVP so I can plan the food and money. Don't bring presents unless you love me that much (which I know you all do )
This is also for the purpose of celebrating the death of Metaknight in the 5th largest state in the U.S.

I MOST DEFINITELY AM CONFIRMED FOR BOTH EL PASO AND OKLAHOMA. The El Paso condition: if somehow there is too many people that want to go and too little space, well, I am a melee bad***, so I will fight for a car seat.
The OK condition: remember, I am going to OK with Dekar. If for some circumstance that we have too many people and too little space, it depends on the people that are going. Those with the purpose of competing in both melee and brawl should be confirmed to go. Those with the purpose of competing in only brawl events should be prioritized second. Finally, those competing for melee and melee only (including me) are prioritized third (me being one of them). We should bring at most 3 melee "mains." I'm automatically prioritized at the top of the list, and if for some other gay circumstance I'm excluded again, I will fight for a car seat.

I think we should still have a Smash fest this weekend. I suppose I can have it at my house if no one else is willing to host one. I think it'd be best if you had it, though, Erich, as you live close to Cibola for those who are going to go see Everett's play.

I am 99% go for OK, El Paso, and like 80% for Colorado.

We need to figure who wants to go to El Paso. That way we can figure out whose car we are taking.

We also need to figure out how many people want to go to OK, that way we can know whether or not we will take one car or two cars worth of people to OK. Right now it is 5 people in Dekar's vehicle, right?

List of Out of State Tournaments:

El Paso - A lot of stress on MELEE, but good Brawl as well. Close by. Melee players should definitely go.

Oklahoma - A lot of stress on BRAWL, but good Melee as well. 7-8 hour drive. Best Brawl and Melee players should represent.

Colorado - Soul Calibur 4 and Brawl. Melee players don't go unless you want to chill with Colorado (which is always awesome). Main reason for going: To see Tony and the gang. About an 8 hour drive.
