Pot? Why isn't everyone just paying for themselves and splitting costs? That would prevent anyone from getting gimped with money (as pots often do).

Steven isn't coming and we can't use his car. However, we can use my mom's car which we can comfortably fit five people in.

Lrin/Darci said he would like to come and I can spot one, maybe two, people to come.

So, the head count is this:

Erich
Davis
Darci

I have an extra $200, people. If you can't come because of money (otherwise you can go) TELL ME RIGHT NOW! (554-6123 is my cell, call or text me). Come on guys... seriously now.

On that note, does anyone have Darci's number?

Also, also, figure out your financial situation David or Kyle, and I'll even help pay your bills and the trip.

Hey guys...I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but um...guess what I just found out?? My parents won't let me go. Kick me to the curb for it, but...I can't help this one. Parents over-rule me...sigh.

No, the JP release was also delayed, but only a week, to January 31st. The US release date is March 9th. A whole month. A whole ****ing month.

Guys, this is my plan...

I'm going to import a Japanese Wii and a Japanese version of Super Smash Bros. Brawl (Aka Super Smash Bros. X).

It'll cost me about $270... so, donations start now.

Davis' "Get Brawl Before the American Release Date Because Nintendo is Full of *******s Donation Campaign" starts now.

Please, please, please if you could spare some money that would be great. $1, $5, $10, lol, anything would be nice. Thanks. You can all come over and play it.

You're nucking futs, Davis. I'll help out where I can, but lack of job=lack of munny.

It's probably a technical issue since both releases were pushed back, and not localization. The only reason the US date was pushed back farther was BECAUSE of localization. It takes time to translate.

Actually scratch that. I lack funds at the moment.

Which'll change soon, I'm applying for a job at GS.

You guys should come to Insomnia gaming center tomorrow. I'm going there to own some random noob who thinks he's god at smash (he's cool though, so don't trash talk him too much XD) . Anyway we could all hang out at smash. I'm pretty much done taking melee seriously though, so expect a lot of Mewtwo =P.

Alright, I need everyone's help. For the NVGA Supercon I need a Minimum of 8 full set ups. So far I am compeltely confirmed for one. Myself, I need complete confirmations. The most likely date for this May 23. and May 24. The Venue Fee is 30$. It will cover the 22-25 entry to the convention center. I will have the entry fee at either 20 or 10 $ depending on what players say. I will also need to people to help me set up rules for Brawl, since this is the first BIG brawl tournament, it should be a role model tournament. Also, we have chairs.

Hmm. Wow, so now there are a lot of posts.

Well, I'm tryin' to get some people together to go see National Treasure, lol, if you want to do that, and we could play Smash at my house and just hang out.

What is this ridiculous $30 venue fee tournament you speak of Everett? First Brawl tournament in May? Sounds awesome. However, I'm not giving anyone use of my Wii until I get that God **** cover back... wait, nevermind. I'll just use the one from the Japanese Wii I'm getting. All is good.

So yeah, I can bring one set up.

So, fill us in on this tournament. As for rules, I think they should be something everyone can agree on. I'm throwing this out right now before having played the game:

All completely flat and three platform stages with minimal hazards set to neutral
Every other stage counter pickable
4 stock, 10 minutes (you supposedly live longer in Brawl)
Final Smashes on
Items on
And other random MLG rules then apply, like Dave's Stupid Rule or loser picks stage, winner picks character, loser picks character.

That's not having played the game.

Final Smashes on?

Regardless, I'm going to go see Cloverfield tonight so I doubt it. But I'm up for smashing anytime with anyone. I'm just hoping a few of us can get together sometime this weekend and play.

Still winning my bid on the Japanese Wii. 8 more days to go =)

The Brawl tournament is also a Trade show, an Anime Expo, a vendor show, and is 4 or 5 days. It isn't fully decided yet. The 30$ covers all of them.

Kash: Your Wii cover was in Stevens car at that monthly he gave me a ride home from. How do I know? easy, I saw it fall off and put it there.

And we Rio Rancho/West side people always go up there lol. Example: Neils and the monthlies. You guys have been down here once. BUT it matters not lol.

And final smash on is cool BUT not items. Just my opinion.

Paul: lol ironically I've also been working on my Falco because we've hit melees end, might as well have some fun and get good with other chars besides our mains. Falco is a lot of fun.

Sinz: Sup :p

Steven: To bad it isn't tomorrow and not today. That place is around my TKD school it seems and i could have gone down there to own with ya lol.

Actually, the guy I was gonna play had to go out of town this weekend, so it's gonna happen some other time. We can still go down to Insomnia and smash sans noob-ownage, though =p

So is anyone going to do a little get-together this weekend? Please let everyone know. I would hold it at my house but I can't this weekend. Also, whoever decides to hold a smashfest (if anyone) please give me a call.

Hey Paul: I think that Dancing Fighter G's tourney that's being advertised right now is the one that CO was talking about. You guys wanna try attending that one instead of going to Texas?? It'd be much better, trust me, and it's not nearly as far away. Think about it, everything about it is easier, cost, travel, etc.

True, but if we're going to a CO tournament I would rather travel to the one in April. Otherwise titled Colorado Cutthrout Console tournament. Seeing as there would be more players in attendance and it would be for Brawl. Sigh....I really wanted to go to at least one more huge melee tournament before Brawl came out but it looks like it isn't going to happen.

Also, you can't think of Brawl tournaments in terms of Melee. They have to evolve themselves. Give items a shot.
Of course, as soon as Brawl comes out we're going to be playing like crazy in order to come up with the fairest rules possible. Also, I believe that one of the Kishes made a thread deciphering this issue a while back. We have to let the game play out itself in tournaments and see what tactics, strategies, techniques, etc present themselves before deciding on a general rule set.

Erich, we should hang out tomorrow. And possibly others as well.

Davis, the items will always be a no because of too many RFU's...
RFU's are Random Fighting Units. With the current rules we try to eliminate as many as possible.

Steven, and Paul, you too are some of the least Biased people I know, I would like you two on my rules planning committee for Brawl, okay?

You have a point Paul, but the one in February is also CCCT. It's one of the pre-tournies they have, so you could be right-that one might not be big enough. But I think that the one in April is going to be for Melee still, because if the one for Melee is in February, it'd be weird if they suddenly switched to Brawl, because everyone's skill level goes down, etc. We could perhaps go to both of them, eh?? The one in February AND the one in April, or the one in March instead of February. It's up to you. What do you think?

You have a point. Switching from Melee to Brawl would definitely be a strange move on their part. But why wouldn't they? Tournaments for SSBB would ultimately attract more players and ensure a larger tournout. If they decided to stick with Melee when Brawl has already been released how many players do you think would really be interested?

Hmm... unless they hosted a tournament for both melee and brawl... then the turnout could be exponential in both ways...

Anyways, hello Albq., I'm throwing my going away smash tournament, and the rules and everything are simple. I'm trying to find transportation for you guys, I think BTK will but he hasn't confirmed. I want to play all you guys before I leave.

$5 entry (Per Person) so 10 a team.
Doubles Tournament Only!
MLG, all DK levels open
Date: I'm not quite sure
Location: Durango, I'll be an escort to get you guys in ALBQ, so from there you will be fine.

We are going to find a way to record videos to, so be excited ^.^
