edit: and the only advertising maria did was actually advertising gamefrog did
gamefrog has never done any advertising for me besides putting "ssb tournament" on a dry erase board in their store.

There are 6-8 people that come that are NOT on the boards regularly and that nobody knows. Those people are personal friends of mine not brought in by gamefrog. Also, they do follow the boards and come here for tournament information, they just do not post.

The only people gamefrog has ever brought in were those two little kids that came with their mom at bac2.

People want attendance like mine, then they need to step up on hyping them up.

ncsu has never had a bad turnout but people think 20 people is bad for some reason...20 people is a lot of people lol. that is like average as far as nation wide goes. no we dont pull 50 people for our locals otr but our scene just isn't that big. 20 people for how large our scene is is fine...

main diddy. I got falco. NC needs a good diddy main. We're never gonna get better if all we learn to fight are MKs. Choose diddy!!!! Ask. What Would Diddy (P Diddy that is) Do? He totally choose diddy.

You just talk a lot.

And I'm not saying your wrong but the stuff you say about brawl gameplay sometimes doesn't really make sense.

Just to me, it doesn't seem practical. Again it's probably just me.

smashboards is a terrible place to learn to play lol

i learned 10x as much in the first day of playing with/talking to M2K/Lee/Larry/Wyatt/Mike/etc.

if you want to get better the best things to do are talk to/play with the best players you can (and that includes getting on wi-fi if irl isn't a good option)

I mean I don't really say much about gameplay. I just read up on the character boards a lot and try stuff out.

But I'm absolutely serious about the sheik thing. You are acting like its super difficult. Its basically what she does with every other character but the fact that she gets that grab release to instant, guranteed death confuses me as to how the match-up is listed so much against her.

Like it takes very little skill to perform that. I dunno why it doesn't make sense. But other than this, I don't really say anything about brawl gameplay.

That's what we call bad theorycrafting. You have to realize that MK is MK and has ways to avoid the f-tilt.

no doubt he does......as does every character. Fox has ways to avoid ftilt. That doesn't stop the match-up from being 80:20 (or 70:30......something bad). But you are just ignoring the fact that sheik has ways to get an ftilt. But just ignore the ftilt. It becomes harder without it. I think with 4 grabs MK is dead. Like each sweet spotted one does between 25-30. And her upsmash kills at around 90. I'm not theorycrafting..... I asked a simple **** question. I dunno why everyone is jumping on me. I just want to know what about the match-up prevents this from happening. And so far all I've gotten is that he has ways to avoid it. Well no ****......every character has ways to avoid things. You act like he can go an entire match without getting ftilted or grabbed. Well I am not going to deny this. I just ask why this is so.

We are not jumping on you man.

For me I just want you to realize that on paper it sounds easier than when actually playing.

But it's cool man, if it helps than by all means do it.

much easier on paper. MK is realllly good at avoiding it. Much better than Fox or others.

I'm just trying to get someone to enlighten me on this match-up. And I don't think people realize how easy it is to set up an ftilt. With sheiks fair having so little knock-back now, it leads into it. As do needs in close range. A spot dodge leads into it (as would a perfect shield obviously). It sounds harder on paper than it actually is. And as for her grabs.....they have pretty good range. And my favorite thing to do is to shoot out some needles, bait the shield. And get a grab in (of course sheik can do many things to get the grab). But it raelly isn't that hard. What are these mysterious powers that MK has that prevents him from getting ftilted or grabbed?

No mysterious powers, its extremely simple. MK is exclusively disjointed hitboxes, that also have more range and transcendent priority.

Lets put it this way, reflex's sheik loses to Inui's MK. Reflex is regarded as top3 in his a region whereas Inui...we all know about Inui.

Its not hard to deal with sheik's gimmicks, as long as the MK knows what to expect he can avoid it fairly easily.

Yeah, this was my understanding of your extra attendance. However, if they were more personal friends of yours, there's probably not a lot I can do myself to advertise it to them, maybe you could mention it to them? Of course I don't expect you to feel the need to go out of your way, but it could be cool.

If you can smashdi much at all... or well... Shiek's ftilt lock does like max 40% with the finish attack even on heavies unless its from zero (where if you're grounded you can di down and shield...)

di and defensive skills people! dial-a-combos like shiek's don't work in smash games unless they have literally unchangeable properties like the dumb brawl chaingrabs.

mk shouldn't take more than 40% from shiek's ftilt ever, mostly less

I can talk to them, but for most, gamefrog is the only place they would go for tournaments. There is really only 2 groups that sort of go together.

They are both particular about traveling large distances for tournaments. I will see what I can do though.
