and hooooly **** brawl fans make me rage
brawl is a fine game, for 4 players messing around, even to try to be good at, and we've turned it into not even a HORRIBLE competitive game. watching tournament matches, it's clear that there IS a skill curve now and that more knowledge and skill can actually help. but it's still NOT a good competitive game or fighter.
see, most obsessed brawl fans are just nintendo fans who hadn't really played any fighters (or competitive games) ever before, and to them, of course brawl wouldn't seem disgusting. they enjoy trying to be good at it, it's a natural progression. they're just so far behind the curve. they have games they enjoy, and smash is something they play with friends, and they try to be the best at it, in their small circle. then when they discover the competitive scene and smashboards, it just feeds that already-developed need for competition and improvement, so they latch on to it. unfortunately, that means that brawl continues to be the only exposure they have to competitive games or fighters, and being so deep into it and absolutely nowhere with anything else, they have an extremely poor perspective. they don't realize that just about any other competitive game is more fun, has more cool things to lean, and is more exciting than their obsession.
brawl+ is incredible, especially how far they've come
melee is even more amazing
tl;dr i wanted to respond to the insanity of your blog but i felt like doing it here instead
