what you want? i'm not going to go through the whole process of differentiation because that would make me sound like a nerdy know-it-all. i'd rather have one or two people like you think i'm dumb than the entire thread think i'm a stuck-up geek.

Why wouldn't you go through differentiation? On a basic level, it's one of the easiest things to explain in mathematics, and the second derivative test for local extremes follows straightforwardly from the basic explanations. You don't need to go into the advanced rules, the bare minimum is enough (first derivative rate equals zero, second derivative is positive or negative depending on minimum or maximum).

And this is a pony thread, who the hell is really going to judge you for explaining differentiation thoroughly?

AJ: neutral stages only, no items, no B attacks (a.k.a: nothing special )
pinkie: Everything on high. Banned stages only, custom stages included
RD: Fast brawl, Skyworld only. bunny hood and dragoon only
fluttershy: Whatever you want. sound=0
Rarity: B-attacks only (a lady shall not dirty her hooves with such conflict!)
twilight: Anything you want!
but..whoever comes last has to write a (spoken aloud) letter to princess celestia about what they learned about smash bros during that match
