Munchlax eats the Competition away!

Yes, I almost panicked too thinking he was in before I realised I didn’t see a “Newcomer!” label. Whew! Today’s update is a Pokeball Pokemon, something we haven’t had an update on in a long time, and today also confirms the return of a Melee item. Read on to see which one!

Munchlax, from what we can tell, is one of the least threatening Pokemon of them all.  Ironically, he’s the Pokemon of choice for those who don’t like using items. Anyway, what Munchlax does is he wanders around, ala Mr Saturn. Unlike Saturn, when Munchlax sees an item he heads for it.

He then eats the item. True, not very exciting, but still it’s one of the things that’s much better in motion. For example, when he goes for an item, does he run for it? Knock others out of the way? Has Munchlax increased in size from eating the item? Does he do damage if hit? Maybe spit the item up? Does he evolve if he eats enough?

This would only be awesome if he chased characters holding items and knocked them down. Of course he would be really slow at running making it funny as hell.

It was sort of a "meh" update to me. I guess now that you mention it, he probably does somethin to whatever gets in the way, maybe he just grows and continues walking and steamrolling anyone in his way. But yay for Lip's stick confirmed

No, I can see Munchlax making things much more exciting in multiplayer, just like all the examples given. Mass hysteria will ensue when Munchy eats someone's home run bat.
I think this though could be the beginning of more pokeball and AT updates, hopefully deconfirmingsome characters. It's the next best thing to characters themselves.

I swear, we cannot have ONE update without someone reading something into it that simply isn't there.

Oh, and for those who are saying that Munchlax is deconfirmed as a playable character, when did he ever have a chance in the first place?

Dude this update was awesome, it gives alot more info than you think

1: It confirms 4th gen, Drifbloon may have implyed it but this update destroys any doubt.

2: It deconfirms Munchlax while boosting up the probability of Lucario as a player

3: It confirms a returning item

4: It about Deconfirms Lip. Lip isn't a character without her stick. If she was a character than I don't see why they'd put her item up for anyones use (It's like making Aether an item).

5: a possible remedy to item haters. This of course will only be true if the player can change the occurance of pokemon and items like My music. If so you could make Munchlax appear more to even out items (This added with very low would make item grabs a rarity thus it would take more skill to aquire an item). Of course that's assuming alot.

6: It shows the interactivity of the crowd. I was suspesious at first but this clearly confirms it. AC characters will follow the action watching the player. their fashial expresion must alo change by the interactivity of the battlefield because in any active screenshot, The AC characters host a more dynamic expression.

7: Priority. Does anyone else notice how much the Smash Munchlax looks like the coloseum munchlax?
That's not saying alot.

The Coloseum pokes look a little rushed to some degree. I've actually noticed the same with all the pokeball pokes and the stadium pokes too. The only exception are the PC pokes and Deoxsys (I think that they probably considered him as a possible PC). I'm thinkingthat they're just taking the coloseum designs from Game freak and slightly boosting their graphical and physical feel. This would be faster but still seems a bit sloppy. Lets just hope I'm sadly mistaken.

But at the most it only gives one special. Lip's attacks would all have to be centralized around her stick (What other move would she use, she's never seen fighting).
It is possible for her to still be in but comon using logic alone we can all say the only reson she had a chance was because she's a female (She is in only one game, that's from Japan, and she's never seen as a fighting character, and now this).
