The 5th book was so slow. Took him half the book of faffing about at the Dursley's and court before he actually got to the school.

The reason why the 5th book translated so well to the screen is because they cut out the 2/3rds of the book where nothing happened, which made it easy to fit the rest of the book into 2 hours.

It wasn't until the 6th book that I realised she was actually a really good writer, and the 7th book was fantastic.

I enjoyed it enough. 7/10

The beginning was the peak. When Thor lands on earth is when thngs go a bit astray. The costumes without the effects seemed tacky and the "romance" between Thor and Natalie Portmans character wasn't believable. Like after hitting the guy with a a vechile and gazing at the stars they're in 'I'll-risk-my-life-for -you' love?

Excited for the Avengers

I just found all the conflicts...... prosaic, is a good way to put it. Thor himself is just kind of a shallow character.

I mean, I enjoyed the pretty colors, but I was looking for more from that branch of Marvel's mythos.

The bonus after the credits was very bad*** though

Dragon Ball Evolution= worst movie ever.

the only ones in the theatre was my brothers and I, it was so so horrible, it literally wanted to make me cry.

I always smile when people say "such and such is the worst movie ever"

I smile because I sat through the entirety of Ax 'Em

that was a dark time in my life.

Troll 2 is bad, but at least you can hear most of the dialogue and it doesn't look like someone smeared Vaseline on the camera lens.

Good ol Netflix. I often just randomly add any movie that seems passingly interesting. Sometimes it's great because I discover tons of amazing movies that way, but it's risky because there are tons of movies like Ax Em as well

Lol, to be honest, I am getting terribly bored of the Final Destination movies. It seems like a lot of the deaths they are creating are simply 'too' out there to be taken seriously. I can see this movie going on for several more sequels though, just like Saw, which has also become boring for me.

I'm going to see Hangover 2 this weekend with a girl, and thats the sole reason. I don't think it will be good.

As for Pirates, i saw that and it was okay. I liked the mermaids, the whole landscape looked nothing like FL in general, which made me mad, the plot was awful. But it had mermaids. Realistically, C+. The effects were good, and the acting was good. Alot of stuff was just dumb, and some series' just need to die.

Oh yeah, Pirates.

well I also saw Panda 2 today, which was not bad. Of all the things they did differently, they still did them well. It's bit more emotional and on a larger scale

Watched Knowing tonight. 2nd time I've seen it, but just as good as the first time. The plane crash definitely is the coolest scene in the movie, imo. I just wish it had a better ending, I felt it had a bunch of potential, but it was just all lost with the
whole aliens abducting the children to start a new life, while killing everyone else
I felt it was really dumb, and it seemed they didn't give much thought into how to actually go about ending it. Oh well, still enjoyable to watch.

Was on a movie watching marathon over the weekend.

Bad Boys- Tons of explosions, fight scenes, and attractive women. Typical action film but has Will Smith! 7/10

A Clockwork Orange- Completely ****ed up, but I loved every second 9/10

Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children- I still don't get why this is so popular... 4.5/10

Ghostbusters- Incredibly, I've never seen this movie before! Pretty enjoyable, but the special effects haven't aged well. 8/10

The Goonies- Still my favorite movie ever. 10/10

Kind of surprised no one has mentioned the new X-Men.

I thought it was great, besides some make-up ridiculousness. I think the relationship between Xavier and Magneto is the most interesting thing the series has to offer. Don't be discouraged if you think it's the same as the Wolverine origins movie which blew hardcore, it's not made by the same people.

BTW, All new respect for Kevin Bacon.

i watched a bunch of movies

Enter the Dragon 1973

A classic. I don't really love this whole movie though. It's kinda boring at times. but holy ****, that kick at the end. ****in brutal.

3.5/5

ENTER THE VOID, 2009

[yt]dL0lNGXoP8E[/yt]

This movie left an indelible impression on me. I've never seen anything like it.

Oscar is a drug dealer in Tokyo making ends meet and spending his free time doing a variety of potent psychedelic drugs. Then he dies. His spirit rises out of his body and continues to float around existence, reliving old memories and conjuring up new ones.

It's loosely based on the Tibetan Book of the Dead. Some aspects stick really close to the book, but it's still a very radical take on old concepts. No other film has even come close to approximating a psychotic break on hallucinogenic drugs as this one. It's also very much like a dream. There are sections in this movie that really shook me to the core.

might not be for everyone though. The narrative is extremely secondary to the experience of the film itself. It's kinda long too. For me, it was perfect, and I can't wait until I'm ready to see it again!

5/5

Super Mario Bros The Movie 1993

No lie, this is most likely my favorite video game adaptation. I don't know how someone could make this movie from the source material. It's like they were explicitly trying to make it nearly unrecognizable from the game. It's an anomaly, sure, but it is still a really fun movie in its own right. Bob Hoskins is pretty much a perfect Mario. John Leguizamo doesn't really make sense as Luigi but he's charming enough. I also really like the Mushroom Kingdom here, shown as a post-apocalyptic dystopia full of freaks.

Okay, it's not that great a movie, but I can't help but still love it.

3/5

The Wayward Cloud, 2005

what....the.....f*ck.

One of the strangest and indescribable movies I've ever seen. I need to get into Taiwanese cinema.

The basic story is that Taiwan is experiencing a severe countrywide drought. As a result, the use of watermelon juice/water has become very widespread, so much so that a watermelon is far cheaper to acquire than regular water. A porn actor meets a girl and they start a relationship. Sorry, this movie is really hard to describe. Some parts are very gross. Some parts are creepy. Some parts are absolutely hysterical. Some parts are even kind of sweet and romantic! I'm glad I watched it but I probably won't watch it ever again.

4/5

TL:DR summary: watch Enter the Void.

Saw it opening day. It was a great watch, but for me not really memorable. I can't think what my favorite scene was.
Plus some continuity errors. One off the top of my head, Havok is in this movie(set in the 60's) as a teen. Don't know how this is possible since Havok is Cyclops' YOUNGER brother.

I gave it a 7/10. It started off well but kinda lacked at the middle and ending. The romance between Thor and Nat Ports character seemed rushed and unbelievable.
The final battle paled to the ice giants battle at the beginning.

It certainly entertaining enough, but isn't anything amazing.

Saw super 8, and it was the best movie so far this summer.
The dialogue is witty, the feel is nostalgic, the storyline (while simple and unassuming) is enough.
Easily a 7/10; probably more if dissected.

I really don't get what the huge deal is. Ebert displayed a lack of tact and couth in using Dunn's death as a pedestal to talk about drunk driving less than 8 hours after he died...having said that, it's not that offensive and it is the truth.
