I kinda wanted Tom Nook assist trophy, I wonder what Sakurai has planned for him. Also I'm pretty excited for smashbros direct, it's sad tho because it's gotta be on a weekday.

I like that Sakurai shows an assist trophy but doesn't show what they do. Thats like the perfect balance of new info and spoilers.

Did anyone predict a Smash Direct?

Out of the thousands of people who comment on this forum and others, I haven't seen a single person who dared to dream that based Sakurai would bless us, his children, with a Direct from which will flow bountiful Smash 4 newcomers, veterans, game modes, releases dates and trailers.

And in Mario Kart season, at that!!! And it's announced almost a week in advance. That's unheard of!!!

edit: ontopic, I wonder if the pics between now and Wednesday will build up hype for the Direct.

My guess is that she'll be either A: following around and providing fruit to replenish HP or B: stay still and provide fruit which anyone will grab/she'll be waiting for you and refuse to give it to anyone else

Isabella looks adorable! Even the non-character assets in this game look fantastic! And I assume that K.K. Slider will make an appearance here as well, considering the stage is now confirmed to have day/night cycles. Where on earth is Tom Nook though? I have this funny feeling he will be playable, and if so it will be glorious. Or another assist. Either way. The more AC love the better in my book.

Ok I am so stoked for the Smash Direct. I'm thinking either Ridley or Mewtwo might be shown. I can see just the other veterans that are obviously returning being confirmed in the Direct.

Hopefully Isaac gets confirmed.

Isabelle doesn't mean Tom Nook isn't an AT as well, we have no idea how many AT's are in the game and how many franchises get more than one rep(AT rep, that is). I really don't think Tom Nook has any chance to be playable in Smash 4, but I could be wrong.

Nice AT. I prefer AT's that do direct damage, but it's good to have variety. I just hope Devil doesn't return.

I'm hoping different fruit does different stuff. Like, some heal, some hurt, or who knows what. I usually turn off healing items so this would turn a character I like into an assist I don't.

On the topic of Isabelle, does it weird anyone else out how people at Nintendo refer to her as if she's a real person who interacts with them? Iwata, Reggie, and now Sakurai have done it in the past year and it weirds me the hell out every time it happens. She's still adorable as all get out but people interact with her like she's goddamn HAL from 2001: A Space Odyssey for some reason.
