After all the fun I had playing and making it into bracket at BAMF 3 (my first melee tourney in a year), I think I'm going to enter into more Melee tourneys now. Someone has to rep :ganonmelee: since Warlok Don quit
Juggleguy, I hope MI is ready for the U-Tilt cuz I'm making return to melee :D
I'm excited to be running the Japanese-style bracket class format at this tourney. This format is basically a series of bracket pools that branch off into different "classes" of skill brackets based on your placing in the initial bracket pool. As a result, everyone gets more playing time with similarly-skilled opponents and final placings will be more accurate than ever, providing an informative platform for improvement.
So come out to Ann Arbor on Saturday June 13th for a day of Melee action! Players of all skill levels, ages, and backgrounds are encouraged to attend.

On the heels of EVO 2013, The Big House 3, and The Smash Brothers documentary, the Melee renaissance is upon us, and Project M continues to grow as well. Spartans/Wolverines Exhibit Entertaining Tourneys
SWEET XIV Results Thread February 8th, 2014 East Lansing, MI
Great tournament! Returning to MSU this past weekend after a two-year hiatus of events there was fantastic, as was the Wings Over after-meal with the gang. Hopefully this can help put the East Lansing scene back on the map again! Of course there are a lot of shoutouts to those involved in making this tournament happen:
Dawei (Miracle Fruit) for directing the venue-hunting effort and taking on main event organizer duties for this event
Alex (2Shadez) for his role in finding the Eppley Center and thorough decision making during event planning stages
Josh (Tremor) for housing KirbyKaze/Jethrotex and stepping up as an overall regional leader in recent weeks
Dan (D++) for supporting the venue-hunting effort and bringing some IT knowledge to the table
Chris (CTL) for successfully bartering a ride to the tourney in exchange for TOing duties
Amine (Roki) for answering questions and troubleshooting to prepare me for my first streaming duties
Jon (C_Naught) for designing some great artwork and stream overlays, and being a very helpful resource overall
Once again, here are links to some regional Facebook groups nearby in case any new players are reading this and want to get more involved with their local Midwest Smash community:
Thanks for attending, everyone! SWEET XV is scheduled for March 1st back in Ann Arbor, MI and will feature both Melee and Project M. It's been an excellent first two installments so far, and we hope you continue to join us during this season of the SWEET tournament series.
