master in philosophy with 7 years of smash.

Master's in philosophy, cool. Enjoy that job in.....

Such an easy major. Voice your opinion of life and our purpose. "blah" A+

If you want to get anal about it. I've been playing smash competitively with friends for 7 years as well. I've been playing it all of my life (for the time it has been released) if you want to throw in casually.

I also don't have the money or a good enough job to be diving into a master's. Must be nice.

Oh and I've held a job for the last 6 years.

EC doesn't think we're better then everyone. Its just facts...NJ/NY, SoCal, Texas, and FL are the best regions by far.
it's not enough that you think you are better. Even if it is a fact it is the *******-ish way you present it. Look your post over again see if you can see how you come across.

Kay guys. It's getting a little past ridiculous now. I like the idea of stopping this entire discussion on regions and Pikachu's amazing ****ing hat and go back to OP.

Now you guys are comparing education and AllisBrawl profiles. What the **** is this? I'm getting more disappointed in all of it.

Finance?

Don't you just have to memorize a buncha simple mathematical equations (y'know, the kinda **** you learn in High School for taking care of mortgages and the like) and laws?

That's really tough, man.

Really tough. Enjoy being a bean counter.

(I can say some asinine things, too. Quit talking, Tommy. You're making Florida look bad.)

Bachelor's in Finance feels nice as well as 5+ years with Smash.

Get on my serious level.
I've got a Bachelor's of Science in Economics, a Minor in Business Administration, and I've been playing Smash Bros. for well over eight years. (Note the registration date.)

Not only that, I know the difference between disjoint and non-clanking hits, I know exactly how priority works, I'm a member of the PMBR and the Brawl Workshop so I have fairly extensive experience actually looking into and tweaking this damn game, and I have my own emoticon on SWF.

Get at me. :alakadoof:

To tack on something halfway relevant - A lot of MK's hitboxes are indeed "unclankable." If it's a good thing or not depends on the specific move. It means he can't whack projectiles away, but means that his 2% disjointed attack will beat a 15% non-disjointed move because he doesn't have to worry about being beaten out.

Non-clankability is always bad in the air.

LMAO at this discussion. I currently have two majors-writing (I'm going to get an Associates Degree in it, then a Bachelor's much further down the road) and business (got a few classes left for an associates' degree, then I'm getting my Bachelor's Degree). Totally unrelated, I know. But seriously, TOP THAT!

I have thought about majoring in psychology, but I hate the psychological field even if I'm a natural at it though.

Also bean counter made me lulz. Hopefully you don't clump me in that category Smooth Criminal... please=???

Yep, I have to study and remember things that apply to real life situations. I can't make something up and have it already be right.

Upon further inspection, he said "master of philosophy" which doesn't necessarily mean having a Master's degree. He could just believe himself to be really good at it.

I have no issue with a region stating that they are the best what I take issue with is the statements I see. "**** regions" "Your region is like a 3rd world country" "Terrible region" The arrogance goes far beyond simply being the best scene. The best scene can be the best without attempting to demoralize people who disagree with them. There is no scene with top players. There is only them and everyone else and the divisive nature of their douchebag attitude. It is a good thing only 5% of the scene probably are the top players. With attitudes like that I wouldn't be able to deal with a scene of egotistical jerks.

I haven't been clicking on these and I'm pretty sure no one else has either.
You should. They're pretty enjoyable, and the arguments in them are also very good.

Enjoy that.
Umm... you do realize how impractical that is, right? The same issues from before are still present: It's risky, doesn't work for everyone, throws risk/reward massively to one side, MK already has an easy to forsee answer for it, etc.

It's nice that other characters get an opportunity to land a hit, but expecting that to work is just as likely as any of the other things that characters try.

Then there's also the part where the community will tear Smashboards to pieces if we got rid of the LGL and left MK, but that's another story.

I like how Tommy couldn't win the MK argument so he went onto trying to best people in completely irrelevant competitions instead.

Next he's going to challenge Ripple to an arm wrestle.

You all have already derailed the MK argument to Pikachu's hat argument, so I'm just going where I feel like I want this conversation to go now.

That pretty much. All arguments from him have just managed to make him look like the worst type of person for any gaming community.

Right, right. It's the same **** that can be said for just about any other ****ing profession or job that you train and/or educate yourself on.

...that is real life, right? Other jobs, aside from the all-mighty finance?

DERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRP. WAT DO, BRO?!

I didn't want to be a **** and straight up say it, but philosophy is the only major/profession I was talking about, since you couldn't take a hint.

And no, someone else said something about the hat and I replied to it in one of my comments.

It goes further than ****talk. when you hear things like that being used all of the time. Also the attitude irl is even worse. It is like hanging out with a bunch of popular high school girls being outside of their clique. I saw this at Supercon and have heard many similar stories from people made to be on the outside looking just because they come from a different scene. I guess it is partly why if I ever take the game seriously enough to travel more I would never associate with any of them. Play them for the experience and that is it. With that I leave you the perfect sentiment of how elitist jerks tend to think in the smash community.
taken from Mike's propaganda video.
"lmfao the brawl community is so whack

idk why people are bringing up the "community" polls either, the fact that a bunch of no names, scrubs, baddies, ******* and whiners voted on it should be enough to throw it out the window."
