Melee's 10th anniversary ...what should we do?

So this december (Or november for japan) will be melee's 10th anniversary, so thats a decade of melee competitive and casual (though most of us that still play melee are competitive haha) Any as I was saying thats a pretty big deal, does anyone have any ideas on how to celebrate that?

Yeah, or probably some huge series of tournaments across different areas. Like the "Bring Your Controller" series, on Bach's youtube channel. ...even though it will definitely not happen because its killer hard to organize.

Nah but some kind of tribute would certainly be in order. A major combo video, something done or said by different pros(techniques around the world?), or maybe just some type of special memorial thread that helps us to really remember why this game has been around for so dang long haha.

More like 3 days. :D Everyone brings sleeping bags, calls off work/school, we get a huge venue that has food courts and other things inside and everyone just plays smash for three days straight. And we do a smash parade outside...

they were banned because they were random. they were tried in tourneys for like 2 years before they were finally banned by BOTH coasts at around the time of TG5 IIRC.

I love the veteran idea but the Melee online is a bad idea. We should all be meeting each other in person partying at a smashfest, just like it was ten years ago. Online just isn't the spirit of Melee.

Yea I actually think the week long smashfest would be sweet, we probably wouldnt play smash the whole time though. But still having a community celebration for smash would be awesome, and we should have some sort of an event or series of events there, kind of like an anime convention...but a smash convention!

There's only one good reason for people to retire from Smash.

if the "huge as **** tournament" idea doesn't work out, we could do our best to host small SFs in our bedroom (that's how it all started after all) and take pictures/vids of it.

then collect it all in one place as a tribute to how great melee is!
