The Melee World Cup. Determined players hailing from all over the world, fiercely competing for the glory of their respective nation; and yet, at the end of the day, all smashers are the best of friends, bonded with their mutual love for a decade of an amazing game.

A MOVIE length Smash video that includes:

-The best of all 26 characters
-History since the beginning up to now
-The greatest matches in Smash history
-All the greatest combos, tech vids, etc
-Smash all around the world

Maybe if we force V3ctorman and AJP to have a love child, we'll end up with a sick video with sick quality.

We should make a movie.

And hire actors.

By actors, I mean smash players.

Come up with an amazing plot. Feature AMAZING gameplay footage (and real life footage).

Release movie.

Profit.

This movie would be so tight that it'd attract more people into this game.

Maybe a new melee will start...with items, people will come up with advanced techniques and a new metagame LOL.
But yeah I don't know if there is going to be anything dedicated to the 10th anniversary of melee other than a bunch of videos, but it would be great if there was. How about the melee community just continues to remain a considerably tightly knit and wonderful community, so we can keep it going for another ten years.

I am deeply dissapointed in the lack of support for BigR and mine's idea.

I support zhu's idea, but thats just not realisitic.

Why would we want items back? Sure, the reason why they were banned are unclear to a lot of people at this point, but since and overwhelming majority of competitive players seem to be content with how the game works without items, there is no reason to unban them.

I'm in favor of forcing retired Melee players out of retirement. Ken, we're coming for you.

Seriously though, we should do a traveling tourney around the country, and hit all the big cities, like Chicago, New York, LA, Atlanta, Austin, D.C, etc.
IMO we should start a thread for the 10th Anniversary Tournament and see who can host for each city.
We should also really try to get everyone to come to these, to give the super brofessionals an incentive to really travel the country, or even have some of them travel together to possibly save moneez.
You know, so we'd have these on a large enough scale so that the tournaments would be sexy enough to seduce players like Hungrybox, M2K, Dr. Peepee, etc to all go everywhere. We could even get people to donate for Amsah and Armada coming back. Though can't say I was too pleased with Armada's Young Link at Pound V. lol

If we can't get something like this together, we should just have a massive ****ing smash fest that lasts the weekend at the very least.

The money cost in renting venues might be a problem, since those big cities usually have large fees. Who knows? One or two of those might actually end up happening.

Armada's Young Link was really good though. lol

Quoted for soo much truth. I would say start a thread for video submissions for each of these parts, then simply have them compiled by the best video editors (e.g. vectorman and AJP). This could replace the normal combo video contest

they want them back just for the hell of it, so we can reminice the time when they were legit. it's not gonna be standard or anything.

and the reason they were banned is the same as Smash 64: Containers never went off, and those things can be almost as broken as Bomb-Ombs at most times.

These ideas are all ****, but most of them require tons of work. We don't have to settle for just one idea, but something affordable we can all do is record ourselves talking about smash. Different players have different styles. Some could reminisce, others could tell stories, others could talk about the lessons they learned, how smash has helped them, etc.

There's no reason why we can't have a Smash Week though. Everyone across the world all making time to get together and play for one week sounds nasty.

We really should run a national that month. No1 schedule another big tourney that month or boycott it if some douchebag does anyway
